THINK TANK What Can We Do Now - Part 2 - Return to Sender

We delivered power to the unworthy who have used that power against  the fundamental interests of those who elected them, the Greens included.

The ancient Chinese understood the dilemma of politics.  They saw all too often that those who sought power should never be trusted with it. That the very seeking of it disqualified the seeker for personal ambition almost always remains in conflict with the best interests of the governed.

So, what can we do? Well for starters mass civil disobedience would have a profound effect. No intent is expressed to advocate this course but the questions put to the dairy industry to determine the amount of the carbon tax is a prelude to a tax determination for every industry. Combet and his 750 staff have no idea so all businesses and industries will calculate for them.. If the forms that are being sent out are too complicated for an honest reply then Return to  Sender with "Regret, unable to understand what is required",or "Request more information on specific reasons for the question" and to keep it up until the purpose is clear to the recipient.

The evilness of poliical manipulation that stacks the Senate or the House of Representatives with members who are not  represenatives of the people has now become more evident in the carbon tax, the NBN, and the asylum policy bungles by otherwise intelligent men than one could ever  imagine.

The hardest part of gettin Civil disobedience is that there are many who willingly accept the chains around their ankles as being there for their own good. Look at the Carbon Tax debate so many have accepted the govt line and are only too happy to make the sacrifice in order to save our planet.

Common sense tells us this planets climate has been changing for eons and will do so until it finally crumbles to dust. Yet these people have forgotten the basic history lessons of ice ages etc.

Civil disobedience can take many forms if enough people said we refuse to pay this levee or unpacked the excess wrapping and left them on the counter of the supermarket then in short order things would change. trouble is they are not angry enough yet and many have fallen victim to the "Someone should fix this unjustice!"and don't realise that they are the someone.

Doug. I do not advocate violence. By civil disobedience I mean exactly that, civil in all respects. If I meant vioolent uprising, then I would havwe said so but such a notion is foolish, but you are wrong to assume that it has never happened here. The Eureka Stockade is an interesting time in the early life of the Nation.

True Ian, but to keep quiet and say nothing achieves nothing and for my part I probably achieve very little but I love my country and to see and feel it being rolled over and trashed by a governance that does not care without saying anything is distasteful-

If free to have its way with us we may yet regret having elected them

I agree with all that you said, except for civil disobedience. I by civil disobedience, you mean violent uprisings, I am against that 100%. It has never been our way and never will be.

Yes, keep sending the forms back. Make the bureaucrats lose their nerve, but we must not lose ours.

Honest Government, Fair Rights to property and compensation, Australia and our people strong and proud, reinstatement of values and respect
