Real People - facing the forgotten issues with friendship and a little fun.
Boy meets girl
emotional sparks
ignite
love or lust
time will tell.
They hold hands
They kiss
then it is hit or miss
Until
Boy will say
(sometimes)
Girl will say
'Let's make it formal'
True blue love
Before all and G-D
We want everyone to know
What we have is holy
Let's marry and vow
To carry each other
With G-D's help
Through each day
To create a family
With a mate, to bring
Children into this world.
With love and honesty
To raise them to have
Compassion and strength
To carry on traditions
From generations past
A chain of belief
In the greater good
As a member of a wider community
we realise that
Some are different
either by choice or design
And that is ok too, but just not the norm
For the standards that we all conform
and hope that our child does too.
Because when
boy meets boy
girl meets girl
In the dark
It lacks an essential spark
Of light created
Between a man and a woman
Then when friendship
Is based on lust
And not trust,
All becomes dust
which has substance
But is sterile stuff
But lacks the holy spark
A night without day
A union recognised
It is true,
but not as right as when
Man meets woman
To continue
The work of a divine
Creator being
In the fruit of the union.

Comment by Ian Macrae Yeates on February 5, 2012 at 7:44am Sorry to upset, Ilana. Would you not consider it important to delve into some possible reasons why Cliff Richards sang "We don't talk anymore"? Anyway the divorce rate is not helped by nagging, do you agree?

I have to tell you Ian, you are way off topic. We are talking here about the sanctity of a marriage relationship between a man and a woman as opposed to the perversions of modern society's tolerance for just about anything goes these days. I could not give a rat's bottom about Napoleon Bonaparte's nephew anyway. I much prefer people like Voltaire, who while not an exactly G-D fearing chappie was clever. Bonaparte himself while a good general was not a good example of moral fortitude. He was just a narcissist who could win battles in the field and in politics.
As far as women went, he just thought with his tiny head below the belt and not with his intellect, like most men unfortunately and many women these days. That is why the divorce rate is so high.
Comment by Ian Macrae Yeates on February 5, 2012 at 5:26am Dale Carnegie tells of Napoleon 111 of France who was nephew of Napoleon Bonaparte and if you do know someone who is getting married tell them about him if you want their marriage to be a long innings. Napoleon 111 fell in love with Marie Eugenie Ignace Augustine de Montijo, Countess of Teba, the most beautiful woman in the world - and married her. His advisors pointed out that she was only the daughter of an insignificant Spanish count. But Napoleon retorted: "What of it?" Her grace, her youth, her charm, her beauty filled him with divine felicity. In a speech hurled from the throne, he defied an entire nation: "I have preferred a woman I love and respect," he proclaimed, "to a woman unknown to me."
Napoleon and his bride had health, wealth, power, fame, beauty, love, adoration - all the requirements for a perfect romance. Never did the sacred fire of marriage glow with a brighter incandescence.
But alas, the holy flame soon flickered and the incandescence cooled - and turned to embers. Napoleon could make Euginie an empress;but nothing in all of belle France, neither the power of his love nor the might of his throne, could keep her from nagging.

This same sex marriage push really gets my gander up because next we'll having any number of nutcases wanting to 'marry' their dog, their bugerigar, their bloody race horse, perverts wanting to 'marry' children. I have one of their nutcase elements plaster lies about me all over the net and have got a legal aid appointment next week to see if I can take action to have this vile man and his bully cohorts taken to account.
Comment by Ian Macrae Yeates on February 3, 2012 at 9:28pm Next week politicians come back to Canberra for the first Parliamentary sitting of 2012.
With Labor having reneged on its election promise to protect marriage, the same-sex activists are now targeting the Coalition.
They are e-mailing Coalition MPs and Senators to say that a Coalition conscience vote on same-sex marriage would not be a breach of their election promise to protect marriage between a man and a woman. This of course is nonsense.
They want to force next week’s Coalition Party Room to weaken its position on marriage and allow a conscience vote.
It is important that supporters of marriage make their voices known ahead of next week’s Party Room meeting.
If you live in an electorate held by a Coalition Member, please e-mail him or her now through the AMF e-mail form . Click the box to cc your Senators. If you are not sure if your local member is a member of the Liberal or National Party Coalition, you can check the Parliament Website.
Please also e-mail the leader of the Opposition, Tony Abbott Tony.Abbott.MP@aph.gov.au and thank him for his leadership in protecting marriage.
The same-sex marriage activists know that while ever the Coalition keeps its promise they cannot achieve their aim of redefining marriage.
Please support your Coalition MP and Senator with an e-mail before next Tuesday.
Thanks for taking action at this important time
