In between housitting you can also stay at many freecamps around Australia and if you get the wikicamps for iphone or android to find a freecamp nearby as it uses GPS .Another good site is the grey nomads they have a housitting caretaking page as well as jobs advertized for travelers.http://thegreynomads.com.au/classifieds/housesitters-wanted/

Sorry Michael, i need to correct something and i can't stop laughing. I let Sonja know that i had posted calling ourselves NONADS, which she laughed at saying we are GONADS, still can't stop laughing at my own stupidity. :))))))

G'day Michael, we have had enough of the rolling circus called government and have decided to hit the road at the end of 2015. We are calling ourselves NONADS. No connection to any body, other than humanity. Any suggestions you might have where to start from would be greatly appreciated. ps. we need to pick our tinnie up from the top end first.(It's another story). :)

www.caravancaravan.com.au is another good site for finding free and low cost campsites.

Great information Michael.  Handy to know when travelling around, could be a great saving in helping being able to travel further.  It’s hard to keep up with everything you need to know when you’re out there doing it.  You just might be having to save a bit to go further along as unexpected bills can arise out of no ware when you least expect it.  We hit a kangaroo and it could have cost us big money in replacement up to $6000 I believe, we got lucky but could have easily been the other way.  And might have had to get home on a wing and a prey.  And it can be long way between stops and towns even to having that unexpected rest when needed.

From one who's traveled a few times around Australia now, one of the favorite stops really enjoyed was at Blackall, also the coldest during the wee hours before an August dawn broke.  Had a great night there, great company all around us when pulled in, won’t forget that place in a hurry.

I was told coming back down over in the West side in the mining sector from the top end down, there is a farm there was one of the worst to stay at, even if it was for free, you could even see snake trails near the campsite in the dirt. Um I think they said near Mt Magnet somewhere over there.

Have got itchy feet once again, I'm afraid have got a great love for the outback there is nothing like it, great life style.

But have to wait for a bit longer in getting back out there, too many obstacles in the way at the minuet but when it all clears, there will be no stopping us once again.  Have got my eye on a run going across from the right of broken hill, and coming out near Tambo I think.

Well I hope more answer to your post here, as it can help many when travelling around, all in the knowing where to stay to help avoiding headaches and many an argument at the end of the day when tired and grumpy in finding the places.
