seems they think ONE in Four thousand may be infected...so much for claims it was a passing thing and its all ok now.

and the figure quoted?

strange cos uk has many millions so the possible 15k infected? seems Way low?

Hello Ian,

yes, the prion only theory is still going strong, but there are other scientist that believe that RNA DNA may be involved. ‘no detectible RNA or DNA to date’.

Hi Terry,
My son remembers doing a 'little bit' in microbiology. Prions don't have DNA! (in the form that we know). He is a medical scientist and will try to get some information. Kuru (PNG) outbreak among cannibals. Untreatable and universally fatal. "protein" and "infection".(derivation). Discovered only in early eighties.
