Hi Ilana, seems I have done my penance and DT did print it mostly still they had only 4 replies and 3 were for letting the killer enjoy the rest of his life as he has paid for his crime according to these Australians who I noted never give their proper names. So much for their opinions at least in Just Grounds people stand behind their comments and criticisms. Robert WN

Demonstrates the need for a reintroduction of a Death Penalty into Australian Law otherwise as illustrated here There is no Law against premeditated murder in Australia. The only right for the victim in Australian Law is for the Courts to find the perpetrators Guilty. And then the mandated Law should be LIFE never to be released or the Death Penalty. I notice his wife the victim is not resurrected by law as he is forgiven by law and in the car with him on the sightseeing jaunt.  Another victory for the stupidity called Australian Justice.      Robert WN

Hi Ilana, Yes, horrific indeed, but the result of a Weak Political System, sorry Ilana but God doesn't enter the equation this is all man-made.  No decent society can function successfully WITHOUT a DEATH PENALTY. Western Societies worry much more about the rights of the murderers and rapist and mass killers than any justice for the innocent victim. The Law thinks a verdict of Guilty answers the rights of the victim, whereas if a Death for a Death were their rights by LAW there would be far fewer Murderers. However as it appears Australian Society is too squeamish to send this garbage to the Gallows then the very least acceptable is life without ever being eligible for parole (die in prison). In fact the whole Australian system of LAW and Order is a JOKE demonstrated to perfection by the Federal and Canberra State Keystone cops in Canberra on Australia Day and the involvement of the PM's Staff in organising the whole anti-Abbott demonstration and all without Juliar's approval. If we are stupid enough to believe that no wonder we have a hands off policy for the scum that is the subject of this discussion. And what of the victim, the little boy, well the Law is so sorry but we have carried out our task and have found his killer guilty, but the victim he is just another statistic.   Yes, folk, that is Australian Justice.  Robert WN

Yes what they did is horrific, but what I find even more horrendous is the fact that they are letting these people out after less then 20 years and if you read the story of the family he recently intergrated himself into, he had already started making comments about this woman's little boy as spoilt and needing disciplining. Now, if he has been in jail for child bashing and killing twenty years before when he 'disciplined' a child, I actually do not think there is much hope of real rehabilitation in his case. I think it would only have been a matter of time, when he would have 'disciplined' the boy of his last girlfriend and there would have been drastic consequences for the boy. Thank goodness tragedy was averted.  Boy, I bet she is thanking her family and is extra careful. Some angels were obviously looking after her apart from her mother and sister.

This guy and the woman the mother of John, they are unreformed and psychotic personalities by the sound of things. People like that do not reform. When will some of the courts wake up to people like those who can do this to anyone, LET alone a child, a helpless little boy. G-D only knows what that kid must have suffered in his last hours when the bitch who was meant to be his mother who was supposed to have protected him, was his prime abuser and killer.

Ilana, this is just horrific.
