IS IT POSSIBLE TO SURVIVE CANCER? Anne Nelson`s remarkable story.

I did an interview with this amazing lady for the Agmates community, here it is......

When did you learn of your cancer and what was the diagnosis/prognosis?

In late March 2004, I had been suffering some mild headaches, nothing to speak of, some forgetfulness, mild depression and dizziness. My local doctor sent me for a CAT scan which revealed a walnut sized brain tumour near the occipital nerve on the left side of my brain at the back of my head. My doctor… Continue

Policies For Agmates Discussion

Hi Agmates, here are ten areas of discussion for us to start with. A great big meaty bone to chew on. Enjoy!

TEN COMMANDMENTS FOR AUSTRALIAN POLICY MAKERS?

1 Taxation:

• Immediate start on implementation of the TRANSACTION TAX model, understanding that a tax rate of 1.5% will collect as much tax as the whole of the rag-tag taxation regime collects now, but eliminate most of the infrastructure needed to collect it, and reduce costs of bureaucracy, tax evasion and… Continue

`WAR OF THE WORLDS` by ORSON RUD*.

`WAR OF THE WORLDS`

by ORSON RUD*.

An elderly gentleman said recently that he remembered the wireless play `War of the worlds` and how it caused mass panic, with people rushing to get out of cities etc.
He also said he got very frightened by the play and that the `War of the worlds` play is nothing compared to what he`s watching our Government do today!

Climate news from Bob

From Rural News in New Zealand yesterday.

Columnist Frank Brenmuhl is a former dairy farmer and past vice-president of Federated Farmers.

ETS – to have or not to have?

FRANK BRENMUHL

THE clamour from the different organisations and political parties calling for action on the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) lacks balance and reason.

Many of the arguments used have been based on perceived moral obligations, hysteria, dogma and… Continue

BLIGH AND GARRETT WILL FORCE FARMERS OFF THE LAND

Save farmers from Great Barrier Reef swindle

Recent media outbursts that the Great Barrier Reef faces catastrophic danger from climate change and ocean acidification are based on piggybacking a fraud on top of a fraud.

Queensland Premier Anna Bligh and Federal Environment minister Peter Garrett’s reef protection plan signed off on last week will force farmers off the land under the guise of protecting water quality for the reef under “climate stress”.

The Reef Water… Continue

A message from my share broker friend...

I am a financial planner by day (and author of Political Guts by night), and as such, I have developed a friendship, albeit a rather unusual one, with the guy who handles our clients' share portfolios. He has some very strong opinions, perhaps another reason why I like him, and this was in an email from him today. I read it, then read it again, and deep within, I found a huge amount of sense! Enjoy!

Petrol prices

Dollar at 86 cents , Oil 64 usd per barrel . So why are we paying $ 1.26 a litre for petrol . Now when the price of oil started to rise the oil companies said that we would pay one cent per litre for every Dollar the barrel of oil went up . So if you add the diffrence between the value of the AUSD ( In this case 16 cents ) in dollars to the price of a barrel of oil That would be the price we are paying in USD for the barrel of oil , Oil 64 usd per barrel plus 14 $ aud = 78 dollars we would be… Continue

Four Corners, ABC TV - Clean Coal Technology.

Tonight, Monday 7th September at 8.30 pm, ABC1 showed a program on the realities of Clean Coal technology. If you didn't see it, Tuesday night, tomorrow, it's on at 11.35 pm and it's worth watching. I might even watch it again. Very interesting.

It opened with the statement that coal burning produces 30% (or whatever) of the world's polluting greenhouse gas, carbon dioxide. Not off to a great start, Aunty! Never mind, we persist.

It talked of the political backroom deals… Continue

Finance Warning from consumer-warning.com

Good evening,

From my last 20 years in the finance game, as a business and corporate rescue consultant after the 87 market crash (NOT a bankruptcy advocate - HUGE difference!), finance broker, business seminar educator and presenter and now financial planner, I have seen my share of horror stories. Some absolutely terrible crimes that are simply not on the statutes, but crimes all the same!

And now, a consumer affairs group, consumer-warning.com has come out with another, for… Continue

Some Helpful Tints When Looking To Purchase Pasture Seed

Some Helpful Tints When Looking To Purchase Pasture Seed

Spring is in the air, which generally means a few things for Cattlemen in Queensland and the Northern Territory. Firstly, it means the bull selling season is well under way, and secondly, feed is starting to become short, and they begin to think about pasture improvement. It is actually interesting to understand the similarities between buying bulls and buying seed. They are both living organisms that are essential to… Continue
