Morning Ian.....
The politics of food is alive and well and while farmers and consumers are deeply involved in the day-to-day production and consumption of it, there are international entities very interested in buying up available arable land around the world as a strategy to ensure future supplies for their own populations. Our own government doesn't always heed the criteria of the Foreign Review Board which is an enormous concern as water and land are now highly desired commodities and, in a free- market economy, have great value.
When we talk about securing Australia's own supply of nourishing foods for the future [let's imagine how the 'food ' industry could look in 2050] and we could be beholden to foreign owned companies growing foods on our soils..... an interesting topic!!

And then....there's the issue of foods which simultaneously nourish souls and soils..... an important and related subject!

Cheers,

pennie scott
