Update 3 October 2011

This tab is solely for making suggestions to improve the function of Just Grounds.

If you have questions about how current functions work, please go to the How do I ...? tab.  You may find your answer there, or you can post a question.

If you have suggestions for activities that Just Grounds could partake in (eg. rallies, petitions), please post these in a discussion or blog for members to see and comment.  (Preferably find a pre-existing discussion or blog on a similar topic.)

The purpose for this little corner of Just Grounds, the Suggestions tab, is for any suggestion you may have about improving the site or questions you may have about navigating around the site.

This page is not for suggestions about what activities that Just Grounds should partake in.

The management team will endeavour to check this regularly and take all ideas into consideration. Depending on how many we get, we may not respond directly. Cheers, Julene (on behalf of the team)

Is there one like minded person on this site that

would like their deed to their property?

Or is just grounds for jokes and self puffery?

I suppose I will happy with my deed

and the 12  yep....12 deeds out of millions of homes out there

Appreciation is not required nor is money

Required is the back up I thought this site would provide.

I have 2 weeks left until this sitting concludes

Any like minded people reading this?

"HOW TO GET THE JOB YOU WANT" is the title of a paper I wrote. On my page there is a note that says "This Post is awaiting approval"  When I googled "How to get the job you want" it, it came up straight way and I could read it. My question is:  Can only I see this post or can other people see it as well. With thanks

Hello all at just grounds,

IF it comes to fruition, I will be posting a date for the Adelaide Supreme Court hearing concerning issues within CONSTITUTIONAL AND COMMON LAW . It will be the catalyst to RIGHT THE WRONGS of many unlawful decisions made against the  people with 'FEE SIMPLE GRANTS'.

Can all those interested in this type of case email me names or contact details for a massive attendance  in court on  the date to be given? Even though I live in Western Australia, I shall be bringing  a noted Constitutionalist from Western Australia who has agreed to attend as advisor to the complainant, a South Australian man, at this hearing. It should set a Federal/Commonwealth precedence.

I will be able to give Bank details soon for those able to donate to the fighting fund, as this may very well go to the High Court of Australia.

This case will have a 'knock on effect' around Australia. my personal email:

Thank you for explaining Rob as you raised some issues that I would not have thought of. I will put in on the back burner for now but if any members think the idea of publishing a book of Australian stories please let me know. At this stage I am simply looking for expressions of interest. No worries.

Caroline and Michael-it is the thought that counts and I appreciate it- thanks.

The Ning Pro account that I have is $60 per month and I was going to  revert to the standard plan  which is good for 10000 members a bit over a year ago. It was a fair rig- marole and the Convoy hit like a tidal wave and I scrapped the idea for fear of a stuff up and loosing the site right when it was really needed. The previous owner  was always tugging at our pockets and compared to what I tossed in to keep him happy - this is peanuts.

I have been reflecting on a lot of things lately - not just this site and if I decide to take my name off the bottom- it won't be  on bad terms with anyone or anything- i will put it to the two existing mods and the members- if and when we need to. Also- once any money changes hands - it becomes a rod for ones back with obligations, auditing litigation and loosing ones ability to reject someone from the party- if they insist on being anti social.

I'd be glad to contribute something in any case. All I'd need is the go-ahead and where to send any monetary amounts to.

Comment by Dr Caroline Wright on September 1, 2012 at 10:37pm

I found out today the history of JGC and how it began. I was told that Rob pays the $50 per month for cost of the running of this site. As members I believe that we benefit from the interaction with others and the discussion and sometimes debate on issues probably more than Rob does as a busy farmer.

I respectfully suggest that members may like to share the monthly burden. This could be done by publishing a Book containing Australian Stories. These stories would be based on individuals' life experiences and be of approx. (for example) 8-10 pages, a chapter in length (submitted to a Selection Panel) so that the reader can get to know the characters in each story.

The whole book could be achieved by 1)any individual who wants to submit their story to a Selection Panel and 2) the Editor will be elected by the members of this panel. 3) If the Selection Panel is cross-state they could have the additional task of advertising the book.

Who knows there is probably more than one Volume in our members. The overall aim would be to make enough money to invest so that $50/month would be paid from the interest. Of course there would need to be some remuneration for Authors, Editor and Members of Selection Panel.

Those members who stories are not selected will be mentored by more experienced members to get them up to publishable standard.

The Lawyer can sort all this out but it is just the seed of an idea at present. I know that the skills and the potential are there and I would enjoy seeing this idea flourish.

My kind regards

Ok went and tested your page mate? Worked fine. But remember a member can delete any comment they make until admin changes the settings so that content isn't lost. They may have commented then deleted the comment at the same time you changed the settings? As this is not a "pro" site when you or admin make changes they are actually not in effect until someone from NING.COM processes them.

Comment by Jason Isaac AKA DILLIGAF on June 25, 2012 at 12:03pm

They might have deleted it? OR This being a (excuse my english) poverty pack site, it could've been undergoing maintenance when they posted it? OR that member may have left the website? OR there was a terrible flood, earthquake, Act of God, Roll over at the Cutta, Soggy fish n chips, etc etc etc?

Comment by Jason Isaac AKA DILLIGAF on June 24, 2012 at 10:18pm

If you excepted the friends request the message would have disappeared immediately. When someone sends a message with a friend request you will see the friends request on the right of screen the same as any other time BUT, when you click on it you will see the request in a new window and just under it will be the message. If your like me you just except the request not realizing the message is right there in front of you? DOH!

Comment by Jason Isaac AKA DILLIGAF on June 23, 2012 at 9:45pm

Ok Cate, I'm assuming the approvals are for forum replies etc to discussions that you have started? If so you need to go back to the thread and change the settings in it so that replies etc DO NOT NEED your approval before they are published. You can do this by clicking the OPTIONS on the top right of the discussion header. As for the message, The website will automatically send you an email everytime someone replies, adds or tags(if this site has that feature) you in a post etc. That email is a notification only and not an actual email in letter form. What you are looking for may be in your inbox (top right of screen under your name) or in a reply to one of your discussions? Hope that helps mate? BTW you can opt out of website emails by clicking your profile photo then unchecking the send email option on your profile settings page.

Just a little note for the chief administration of this site. i noticed the plan this site is on and the format that goes with it. If you are interested in what a PRO PLAN with all the bells and whistles looks like and what can be done from an admin point of view? please send me a PM and I'll give you a look through my website on the same platform.

Do what I do Michael P. Write it, copy it, file it, then post it on JG. Then you lose nothing.

Mind you, with all the re-cycling that is going on at present I admire the audacity of some.

Thank you for your request for clarification.

I was in the process of entering a comment on "economic refugees" but befor it was completed my comment disappeared. The next day I attempted to find the earlier item but could not locate it so spent sometime trying to do this.  I do not know its fate.

I feel everyone appreciates the massive amount of time required to maintain the site but the suggestions are not to create additional work but to simplify the site.

The idea is when a topic is closed or no longer available for comment whether intentional or by interference information is available to indicate this. The title of the comment to be shown under an appropriate heading. A comment may be "gone for some reason or another" but those that are following it may wish to know for certainty it has.  Not being computer literate I am not aware of the ramifications.

Whilst programe changes may not be immediately available an opportunity may arise in the future and is a suggestion for this.

Another point that since I used the Contact link here to send the mails the ideas I had in mind are essential locked in limbo. On other sites I do have the option to send myself a copy of the same message I send you,so I have a copy for my own records. If such an option could be implemented here,if it's possible, that would assist me in following up the ideas at a future date.

Comment by Rob Moore on December 28, 2011 at 8:43pm

Michael and others,

Bottom line is that we have to self moderate- unfortunately we aren't kids anymore and in spite of all the gaffe above- the site runs on auto pilot most of the time.

Anything that gets deleted is "goone" for some reason or another. Some of us still have to work for a living and I know I don't have any patience for any silly nonsense.

Comment by Michael Petterson on December 28, 2011 at 7:58pm

I also have a question for the Management team" over the past month or two, I have sent three e-mail on assorted subjects that I felt I needed a "Ok that's fine" on from the management group before I went further with the idea I had and I used the "contact us" link here to do so. I have not even received one post that my mails were read. Would it be possible for a mail that "ok we have read your message" to be sent in the future,if and when such mails are sent to the management team?

Comment by Ralph Prestage on December 28, 2011 at 7:49pm

I have read the comments on suggestions. But would add this one.

I have looked for sites which I had seen the day before and noted that they may be available on Forum.

However if an item has been taken off or deleted can this be listed under the Forum column on the right hand side. The section could be headed "Deleted" then 2 divisions one "Voluntary" or "Intentional"  the other say "Hacked" or "External". The subject name can be listed here until restored. It would provide surety that it is not lurking undetected somewhere.

Comment by Michael Petterson on October 13, 2011 at 11:31am

I have a  sugestion: there's far too much censoring of posts here without any measures taking to preserve the information in the posts. The "Occupy" thread seems to have been deleted, without any measures taken to preserve the suggestion in the thread. I do understand the forums does need to be moderated, but in future could the said posts be archived in some way,so the sugestions are still there and can be cross-posted to a new thread? Just loosing the suggestions when we are looking for ideas doesn't make any sense..

The management team, Where do I find the spot to stop all the email replies, as I just cannot read them all & I cannot find things very easily. I have sent comments but dont know where they went. I did click something a few days ago to stop all replies but cannot find it now. Jillian Spring.  Now, there is no SEND, so do not what to click to send>
