Comment by Rae Billett on December 14, 2011 at 10:34am Julia Gillard has shown how very weak as leader she is. She has bowed to the threats, even Garrett an ex rocker. This woman is not fit to be a PM and leader, she is weak.
More portfolios and big government to keep the left wing happy. We all pay for these people to sit in pretend portfolios.
If she had any guts at all she would have told them all to get stuffed and that she would go to an election rather than bow to their demands. I think they would have backed off because they know they can't win an election; they would be back on the opposition benches. But she has no balls and dare I say it, that is her problem.
She is a great disappointment this first female PM
Comment by Michael Petterson on December 12, 2011 at 8:14pm Here's some good news for once.
ON a day when Prime Minister Julia Gillard is set to shake up her Cabinet, the latest Nielsen poll has provided a setback for her.
The poll in Fairfax newspapers shows the Coalition has boosted its two-party lead over Labor by two points to 57-43 per cent.
It also shows Opposition Leader Tony Abbott has gone further ahead as preferred prime minister, leading Ms Gillard 46-42 per cent - last month they were neck and neck.
Ms Gillard's approval rating fell by four points to 35 per cent.
Her party's primary vote has weakened a point to 29 per cent while the Coalition's has gone up four points to 49 per cent.
In the poll of 1400 people, the prime minister's disapproval rating edged up one point to 58 per cent, with Mr Abbott's disapproval rating dropping one point to 53 per cent.
His approval rating was steady at 41 per cent.

Comment by Rae Billett on December 9, 2011 at 8:06pm Yes they are all absolute hypocrites Combet, Flannery and Rudd and yes, there is no doubt there are others. Combet's pad would be worth a great deal of money (millions) it is in the most expensive area of Newcastle - the top of town as it is called.
Of course they would all have rows of solar panels as well to take advantage of the cheaper electricity rates at the expense of those who can't afford solar panels and even if they could would not be able to reap the benefit in their lifetime due to the original outlay. It's pathetic. These people are also the ones who won't feel the bite of a carbon tax because they are not on a low or even average income. They can afford to make these decisions - it will not hurt them in the slightest.
AND they are all suppposed to be there for the benefit of the average working man and woman!!!!
Comment by Roger Rankin Crook on December 8, 2011 at 1:12am Make a good doco, the dwellings of those three, there must be others too.
Views of their neighbours regarding the rising sea levels and the dangers posed by climate change.
Then there are Al's houses, which need their own power station to keep running.
There must be a big story there poking fun at those who would frighten the world with their falseness.

Comment by Jeff Hutcho on December 7, 2011 at 11:13pm Roger R.C.,
Minister Combet does have a dwelling on the sea shore, in the vicinity of the Novacastrain Motor Inn in East Newcastle NSW. It is fairly elevated though.
Kevin Rudd and his wife have recently brought a block of land near the Brisbane River, besides his Sunshine Coast beach house which is ~150 mtres from the ocean and also elevated a bit. I've seen the real estate pictures of this beach house.
Dr Tim Flannery has two adjacent properties on Coba Point in the Berowra Creek/Hawkesbury River area. Very close to the water level, which is tidal in that area. What gets up peoples nose about this is that he stated that if you lived on the ocean shore in the eighth storey of a high rise building, the water level may come up to your window.
Comment by Michael Petterson on December 7, 2011 at 10:25pm The Galileo Movement supposedly have a campaign ready to go,if they can find the funds for said campaign. If someone here knows someone that could support it,well it's worth a shot..
Comment by Roger Rankin Crook on December 7, 2011 at 9:59pm I want to get to the children before they are indoctrinated at school. I think grandparents.
They already are. We have 11 yo twin grand daughters. One of them wanted a 'big talk' the other day because she was concerned, frightened, worried about when and what the effects of global warming were going to be on her, and amazingly, her children.
Some have a lot to answer for, to me, for upsetting my grandchildren with their lies.

Comment by Roger Rankin Crook on December 7, 2011 at 9:49pm Pam,
My levity was probably misplaced or inappropriate. It's all gone now, but you should have seen what I wrote about the science being settled and the 'Climate Gate Affair' and how so-called scientists made science a matter for derision and disrespect.
The same applies to Flannery, who as we all know, has such great belief in his own forecasts that he has a house just above the high tide line.
Combet too apparently.

Comment by Michael Petterson on December 7, 2011 at 8:41pm I'd love to see some mainstream media coverage pointing out the flaws in the warmists argument,as well as the situation with the lack of any international "carbon market"..
Comment by Roger Rankin Crook on December 7, 2011 at 7:41pm This is serious! Will the water cover 'the' mountain at Bathurst? I'd better start taking this seriously.
