Donna Laframboise reveals that Rajendra Pachauri once again has gone outside the supposed impartiality of his role as the IPCC head and is an advocate for the green campaign.
But here's the part in the press release that makes my main (Donna's) point:
Dr. RK Pachauri, Chancellor, TERI University had a special video-recorded message for the participants encouraging them to be the torch bearers of the green campaign. [bold in the original, italics added]
This isn't a matter of putting words into anyone's mouth. It isn't a matter of interpretation.
This press release was issued by an educational institution that Pachauri heads. It reveals that, during his day job, Pachauri encourages people to be green torch bearers.
Since this man also chairs the IPCC - a body that is supposed to be impartial with respect to environmental questions - this is totally improper.
The IPCC, therefore, is not a scientific organization. It is not committed to keeping an open mind.
Rather, for the past decade it has been led by someone who is busily raising the next generation of green torch bearers.

Joke of the week.
I hear the Labor Party is going to reinvent itself....their idea seems to be a coalition with the Greens!!!
Well they do have one presently more or less but they seem to be inferring an official melding of like minded a***es...
That's going to win a lot of votes????
Permalink Reply by Geoff Brown on December 7, 2011 at 3:39pm THAT will (I hope) gain them political obscurity.
We all have to work to show that the Greens are not lovely tree-hugging people but are working to shut us all down.

There is a growing consensus here in Durban that the United States is the main impediment to progress at these crucial talks. A consortium of 16 of the major environmental groups in the US wrote a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who directly oversees the US climate negotiations. They pointed out that, while President Barack Obama originally campaigned on a promise to lead in global climate negotiations, "three years later, America risks being viewed not as a global leader on climate change, but as a major obstacle to progress."
We know the Americans are not taking part. Obama said this when he was here. How can they? The US is buggered presently.
So what are those attending saying at this Green Conference? They are saying the Americans are the fly in the ointment. It's not China now it's the Americans. Everyone seems to forget Russia. Rarely do they get a mention, they take very little part in this insanity, never have.
http://www.aph.gov.au/library/pubs/bn/2008-09/ClimateChange.htm Russia was not very interested in 2009 and is not at all interested now.
Russia has a formal commitment to reduce its GHG emissions under the Kyoto Protocol. However, after the dissolution of the Soviet Union and subsequent economic decline, it will have no trouble meeting these commitments. The main question is: will it undertake additional actions in the context of any new international agreement?
Answer to the question - NO! This thing is dying but it is a very slow death.......It remains to be seen how far those who want this world domination of renewable energy power, are prepared to go. How many distorted scare tactics are they prepared to continue feeding the gullible. A lot I would think.
The Gillard Government seems to be of the opinion that this country can afford to put in as much money as countries with populations far, far larger than ours. WE CAN'T CONTINUE TO DO THIS!
Bottom line, some (minority) are doing really well in this country, but the rest (majority) are doing it tough and will do it even tougher in the next 2 years or more due to increased electricity prices for renewable energy.
The sooner the Labor Government is gone the better.
I only hope the coalition will take a real stand against this insidious threat to the well being in this country. Renewable energy is far too expensive for a population this size, for that matter, any population - look to Europe for confirmation of that.
