One of the advantages of driving a truck is that I have plenty of time to reflect on things happening around us, and it occurred to me that the majority of people who hold themselves up as our industry representatives are conning us into oblivion, the biggest con is when they ram a scheme or program or new charges down our throats claiming it will improve ‘efficiency and productivity’ and this is their ‘qualified’ opinion, these same people have produced nothing in their lives and they are telling us how we should do it.
I’m sick of this play on words, we get beaten around the ears with phrases like “This is in the interest of public safety” or “It is a Community expectation” or “Improved efficiency will give greater productivity” or “The industry has endorsed it” the list goes on forever, and none of it can be verified with hard proof.

It’s time we in industry started talking about programs that deliver ‘reward for effort’, but you will NEVER hear industry representatives mutter those words, at the end of the day reward for effort is all that matters and yet you could be forgiven for thinking that it is an obscene expectation.

It is criminal to think that we fund offices full of people that spend their entire day trying to dream up ways to extract more and more money from us to fund their non-productive, safe and lavish lifestyle, they live off the hardship and sweat of the workers in this country who create the wealth and yet we the workers are treated like peasants, something is fundamentally wrong here and we need to turn it around soon.

We should never stop talking about ‘reward for effort’ and we should also highlight the huge reward for no effort on the part of those people hell bent on telling us that they know all the answers and yet get it wrong nearly every day, but if you work in the public service (sorry public administration) mistakes cost them nothing it’s just written off and they move on to make the next mistake, their attitude is ‘don’t worry about it the peasants have plenty of money we’ll just increase taxes to pay for it’ we in industry are the victims of schoolboy/girl academics who have never gotten dirt on their hands or done an honest days work, what chance do we have when they control the big house.

Hey Nev, I,ve worked out a plan for the future .

We could all sell off our equipment and be trainers .and auditors.
We could do allright.?

With our experience in the road transport industry .
We could make a killing.

There might not be many operators left , but there sure as hell won,t be a shortage of trainers and auditors.

Its all BS.

I,ve cancelled our mass management and we don,t plan to get BFM ,AFM or any other FM.
because I personally feel that all this is a load of F.S.
The only FM in our camp mate ,is the radio station,
And as soon as these dickheads in govt.departments realise this ,the better off we,ll be.?

Too much F S in the system at the moment mate,

Nat Roads have seen to that ,along with the ATA.
Sold out by their own management. and yet ,still ignorant fools pay membership fees, to shiny A,s
To knife them in the back and implement fee increases,

back to the old ways.
Sleep when your tired and eat and work when you want.

Good luck with your BFM.

CHEERS.
good morning to Mick Pattel ,all agmates and NRFA members.
Here it is mothers day ,for another year.

Just reading through a few posts and thought I,d comment again Mick ,on your reflection of what,s happening around us ,whilst driving along. We get lots of time to think about things ,whilst behind the wheel.

Well, I,ve, just had a mate ring me saying that a roadside blitz ,targetting trucks in qld has resulted in him being held up on the side of the road ,for an hour and a half at Charleville, last night. treated like a common criminal, victimized and eventually fined and demerit point breached ,for absolute ridiculous breaches in the work diary system and heavy vehicle regulations.

Revenue and trying to justify their own existence , I would say.!

Must be a lot of RTA and Police out there, that believe they are helping the country by hounding hard working people.
I wish we could put the shoe on the other foot and let them see what it,s like on our side of the fence.?

Anyway ,we have to keep campaigning for a fair go and a better deal off the govt ,more than we get at the moment.

Rick and Myself spoke to a state minister here the other day and he blatantly agreed that the govt ,was on a money grab ,with no care at all about who the casualties are along the way.

Speaks for itself ,In other words the govt does not give two hoots about Australian families .

What can I say .?

See,ya,s
Hi Noel,
I have just attended a forum in Normanton to make people in the rural areas aware of the problems they face trying to survive in a location and industry that is totally dependent on road transport, check the photos on our website they tell the story, the banner drew a lot of interest, www.nrfa.com.au on the home page.
I have just done an interview with ABC radio My Isa on the issues facing the transport industry, I'm not sure if it will be picked up by other ABC stations.

We have to keep the pressure on,
cheers
hello Mick and everyone,

I must say , I,m impressed , Triple looks good with the banner on the side.
People of Normanton would be on our side anyway.
They would know that this country relies on heavy vehicles .
Rail system is a shambles .
Propped up time and time again.,by incompetent management'
We have to do more of this.?
More protests ,more banners, Public awareness campaign ,

Big brother is still hard at it as we speak.
Boggabilla is full on . Ripping off Aussie battlers.
Coppers ,rta and god knows who else.
What a huge waste of taxpayers money.

All in the name of road safety.

What a joke.

Bed time for me , now . Got an early start .

cheers.
Hey everybody .!

Back again.

Been around and around ,up and down.
breathtested , and checked a few times. Over to Isa .
Down to Alice and past ayers rock.
ended up down the gunbarrel into Perth .
Home to Victoria at last. for a couple of days.

Just a quick comment on the mining supertax ,!
The govt ,have realized that there are billions of dollars ,they can legally steal from corporations ,all under the banner of a legalized tax,
We the farmer ,truckie and Aussie battler are already aware of how the govt operates,
We know that they don,t care about families and business.

We know that they are incompetent bumbling baboons ,when it comes to fiscal policies.
They impose ridiculous rules that are unworkable.
last week ,Was a good example of this .
Log books and work diaries in Queensland, none in the Territory ,none in W.A.
only started the work diary again in S.A.
system really works well AAY.?
I am certainly glad that I managed my fatigue accordingly.

Goodnight.
Mick I have a couple more for you , One driver stopped at the Caltex in Gympie grab a cup of coffee and went on his merry way got up over the hill and was pulled up , Fined $ 600.00 and three points for not putting an entry in his book , He was only stopped for five minutes , Driver two , Driver two went half an hour over because he said that he could not find a safe place to stop and he wanted to get to the nearest town and have a shower and a feed and use the toilets , Another $ 600.00 and three points . THIS IS BULL S
Goodaye everyone ,
Back again . Our industry is in dire straits .
If any one is interested have a look at the NTC National Transport Commissions website.
Do a google search ,
Check out their list of commissioners.
list of senior staff and their profiles and Their consultation groups.

I don,t think that many of them even have a truck licence .Or have seen a truck.
For God,s sake all you nitwits ,numskies and ninkempoops out there behind the wheel.
Take the time to write a letter , Voice your anger .?
Voice your opinion. Let the powers to be know that you are suffering.!
Speak up ,Speak up.Before we are doomed .
Check the website ,It will shock you.!
Its a bit like putting submariners in charge of our airforce.
Or sending stockmen and drovers down to fly space ships.
Come on people speak up.!
Well ,I thought I,d better make comment .
Comment !
Seriously , It,s time .We have to rebel . Speak up .Put the bloody boxing gloves on.! Half of the ownerdrivers and small fleets have gone broke . The other half are in liquidation.
Yes ,! I,d say ,government has succeeded .They have sent everyone broke and bust !
But hey ,Let,s concentrate on boat people and same sex marriages ,According to Mr Brandt from the greens .These are the main two important topics at the moment .
Don,t worry about our rural communities ,,Don,t worry about our farmers and graziers .
Don,t worry about our country hospitals and medical centres,
Forget our own Aussies .The battlers .They don,t matter .
We,ll just worry about the bloody poofta,s and the boat people.
We,ll chase Hogan .He,s got plenty of money .
Lets, build up the revenue coffers.
Let,s get Hoges.
That,s more important.!
goodnight.!Dick.!
Hey mates and truckers .Just me again talking to myself as usual.
Lovely weather ,good for making potholes. Serious front end problems ahead for everyone using the western highway network, Good to see the rain though ,.Tax and Revenue raising activity has increased throughout on the lead up to xmas ,all in the name of road safety . Keep battling on , Keep that road safe.
Make a mile while you can ,Chase that elusive dollar .
see ya.
Hey Noel,

That dollar is getting hard to chase. It won't stop raining in this neck of the woods and is rappidly stuffing the winter crops.

When I do get out there I just poke along at 80 and those who do want to wreck their gear can just go around.

Take care
Russ
