Over the last couple of months the NRFA Treasurer, Peter Whytcross has been working on a submission to the Australia's Future Tax System Review Panel, titled a PROPOSAL FOR A FUEL REBATE TRADE OFF TO REPLACE CURRENT REGISTRATION CHARGES.

Peter submitted the proposal some weeks ago and it is now on the Treasury website at, http://taxreview.treasury.gov.au/content/submissions/post_14_novemb...

Please check it out and post your thoughts on the NRFA group, I commend Peter on the work he has done and also support the concept, this is in line with the NRFA policy to produce solutions to problems created by Government and Bureaucracy, and is the first of many.

it probably could work allright. You have done a mighty fine job putting it together Pete.
USER PAYS. only way to go.!
I have trailers that sit in the yard unused sometimes for up to three or four months or more and the high rego charges do hurt ,especially in lean quiet times.

Might take a bit of time for them to grasp the whole concept ,you know .!
They are not the smartest cookies in the jar ,them fellas in canberra .
Lets hope that they do work it out pretty soon or the way its goin we will be paying twenty thousand rego .
and ten dollars a litre for fuel.
keep up the good work .
see you soon.
cheers
I have five trailers sitting in my yard I can only tow one of them at a time so why cant I just change plates from one to another , If you get caught running around with no plate on one you get booked , Simple as that ,
Hi Mick & Pete,
This is the way to go user pays system, Pete your time and commitment to this is exceptional keep up the good work.
Hi Mick & Peter,

Well done. Peter you are to be congratulated, I know you tried to explain this to me some weeks ago via the phone and it sounded complicated. Now it is on paper it is so simple that we may have a problem. Ken Wilkies "Boofacrats" won't be able to understand it.

I call on everyone get of their backsides and do something, print this out , promote it and distribute it to as many people from other organisations as possible.

We must show some collective GUTS and fight for the betterment of our country, this effects every AUSTRALIAN citizen not just truckies and in Road Transport this sort of reform will go a long way to evening out a lot of imballances.

Cheers
Russ
Thanks Russell and Darryl,
Like you say we need to get the word out best we can, it got a mention on fullyloaded.com but to date very few comments which are needed to keep it going. I hope to try and get something into the transport mags.
Peter.

Hi Mick - I have no idea whether I am allowed or suppose to do this /  ask this on this particular site But??!!!

At Wyong - Twins as I gathered more signatures on our petition I driver urgently asked me if it was true:- "the fatigue laws / log book rules never got passed through legislation.  It is only a Regulation".

As there are more rules laws and confusion than at a catholic* wedding  that  I could not find any 'legislation' showing the log book rules.  *no pun intended

I mentioned it to Ken and he said he would follow it up with you -  everyone was so busy that I thought I would check with you myself just in case he forgot.

If you could let us know -  great appreciation - thanks

Hi Anna,

Most of the so-called fatigue laws are in fact in place by ministerial discretion, however they are then sometimes adopted by COAG as part of transport reforms, so in essence they then become part of an overall package, I have never pursued the legality of fatigue laws and it may be that they are only regulation.

I will look into it further, not that it will change much without a change of government.

Mick

Thank you so much Mick...

You know I have to exhaust it dont you........lol

If it is not legislation it is not compulsory =  throw the books out the window =  repay the fines = and never reproduce them again.  Correct?

Nothing more would surprise me about the brainwashing and thuggery of the governments.

I know you are very busy and I truly would appreciate you looking into this for me /  us.  Ta
