Today I received a phone call from David Crombie of the National Farmers Federation; David informed me that he is prepared to attend the industry meeting that I have called in Brisbane next month.
David Crombie is a man who is willing to listen and stand up for his industry, it's a pity we don’t have more like him, I was encouraged by his understanding of the situation facing all our industries not just trucking.
The meeting in Brisbane is not a political rally, it's about putting in place a strategy for action that will address all problems the nation faces as a result of government policy and mismanagement and will be aimed at both sides of politics.
I now encourage the Agmates family to contact their associations to get on board; if we get through the second stage of my plan which is the Brisbane meeting we are on track to make a difference.

Mick, David is to be comended for being prepared to step away from the mainstream and you for your efforts, must say though that David Crombie and his NFF have a lot to answer for, many of our problem derive from a particular philosophy they have well orchesrated throughout Canberra. Perhaps David can see that they are not well accepted anywhere and that the industries they are supposed to represent are having some troubes adapting to a very unsimpathetic market place which finds it imposible to provide producers with profits for their efforts...pat on the back to you both though..rw
Hi Mick,
This is good news the NFF is on board, I hope there are more associations with the guts to follow suit. If we don't stand together and fight we will be under the red flag before we know it.
Hi Mick, This is wonderful news. Hope this is a break through and more will follow the lead.

Russ
Don’t break out the champagne yet Russ, its early days and I may have to do the hard yards again if this is to get off the ground, can’t say I’m looking forward to that, but we have to do what we have to do, great to see you on board.
Cheers
Mick Pattel

Interesting developement Mick,

A couple of points from me. David is a very seasoned campaigner and knows right from wrong- we need everyone thats available for sure.

He is out of the executive now and it is Jock Laurie that needs to give his seal of approval for the NFF resources and media to help. Fresh in my mind is my feeble crusade to get some awareness as to what these 3 Carbon Farming and trading Bills that are coming up in the senate- just when we arrive in Canberra.

.With the help of Peter Spencer and some loyal members we have compiled the most informative factual discussion yet had in the Rural community. James Nason has picked up a good story for Beef Central and blind freddy can see all is not as it seems.

Unfortunately  the paid staff of these organisations-Agforce and NFF are a law unto themselves and Robert Walker and Drew Wagner refuse to speak with me about it full stop!

Ceo of NFF Charle McElhone a month ago dismissed me and said it is volantary- don't worry -get over it and when I spoke to him about the realities of what I had dicovered- it was game over.

I am sure that the boardmembers that these people answer to would not approve but I am still waiting for them to sieze the reigns and make their bodies work for the good of their members- it always seem to be too little too late.

All I can say is good luck as I have done my level best. People would forgive the past If they would only move and if they don't.....???
