For Like minded people who like to see-
B'H
I was quite excited to receive this email and had a great idea as I did not know that Cate lives near Charleville. I grew up on a place called Elverston Station. You might have heard of it. If ever I could do a JKR even partly, one of my dreams would be to buy Elverston and build a kibbutz on it with Israeli irrigation techniques and build hot houses, breed milking goats and sheep. Mad, I know but I am mad as a hatter and happily so. Wouldn't change myself for the world.
We had lots of workmen and casual workers over the years. I love characterisations so we should have a childhood reminisces on different people we knew as children or young adults. There are some funny buggers knocking around the country side and funny situations so we should have a few pages in their honour and who knows someone might collate it into a book which even if it is not a best seller will give people a good belly laugh and that is valuable in life.
I have been busy getting settled house sitting for a lovely older couple in the East Gippsland who are travelling to Darwin in their camper. We are looking after their two doggies (King Charlie Spaniels) and their chooks and two roosters and the house. Meanwhile searching for our own house. My son is attending a lovely small country primary school which I hope he is able to complete his primary schooling there.
Once I have my tax return I have to come up to Charleville to see my mother for a day or so. Probably overnight or two nights as my son cannot afford to miss too much school. I will email when I get there in late September but maybe we should publish them as a blog discussion or whatever first. Make it topical. For example, stories about people from Cunnamulla, Charleville, Augathella, Quilpie, Bourke, Wyandra, Blackall and Longreach and Birdsville of course.
Even old photos of the 20th Century early to mid. All these tell their own story too. Makes me feel incredibly ancient being born in the nineteen fifties.

I guess you just google it on google maps. I can't remember a lot of places but then I was only interested in our stations.
