About Us

Food-producers and Landowners Action Group SA (FLAGSA) is a community group formed as a result of concerns over the Government's draft water allocation plans and the effect these will have on sustainable food production in South Australia. We are also increasingly concerned about the erosion of landowner rights.

 Our aim is to:

  1. promote and encourage the interests of landowners and food producers
  2. promote sustainable farming and food production
  3. protect and promote the property rights of individuals
  4. fight for the rights, liberties and freedoms of all landowners and food producers

Hello Max,

Good on you! I do not want to see our farmers become an endangered species, so to speak;  I think the isolation suffeed by farmers in the past has contributed hugely to the problem and like you say 'they' were ble to pick off individuals and it was rarely heard about.

AND individual farmers used to think it was only them that were struggling.

A united effort is what is needed and we can make a change for the better.  Afterall, farming is a very important job, the city people must be educated as to where their food comes from - some must think it appears on the supermarket shelves as if by magic and don't give it another thought.

Thanks Cate and Joanne, at the end of the day we are all facing the same issues disguised under a different label. What has happened previously is the govt has been able to pick off individuals and roll through unhindered. That is changing the many small and not so small groups are finding common ground and working together to achieve outcomes not possible previously.

So Peter please do not feel you may be of little use here you may surprise yourself in what you can input.

I heard it said that if you think your too small to make a difference try sleeping in a room with a mosquito.

We should all remember we are all humans first anything else is a label with the potential to divide.

Property Rights Australia would like to welcome FLAGSA to the Just Grounds community.

The aims of FLAGSA are often in concert with our own and I hope we can support one another.

Hi All,

No worries about the invite, just thought i would let you all know about Max's group, and the easiest way to do that was an invite from my friends list.

Great expectations on this group site Max, with some very disturbing posts above regarding landowner, and the laws we are all subject to.

Cheers Cate

Dams in the Adelaide Hills are flood and erosion controls that provide water for the EFS fire crews. SA Labor has sought to tax the water used by enforcing a metering. My response was published, thus;

"The tax will be used to manage water in the region" (Caica, the Water Minister) This is a bold faced lie. It will be used to pay the giant leap to $34 million of SAWater executives salaries.

Picture this Dear Reader after the cost of pipework for the meter. It is mid summer, evaporation and absorption has reduced the level by half, hardly  an amount consumed by Wendy's horse that she uses at week ends to give paid riding lessons (commercial purpose) or for the tomato patch for the roadside charity stall (commercial purpose). The new brownshirt inspector, with one of the 8000 Government cars, big boots. shades and Akubra Chinese look alike  is aghast and files against the land owner (Uncle Jim in Darwin)  for the missing water.

Pumped out by the local EFS for a raging bushfire down the road a few weeks back, that burnt fences and the hay shed covered by insurance. Will you then charge against the insurance policy for the water used from Uncle Jim's dam Mr. Caica?

Our main spokes person Peter Manuel has Spoken in Qld And Canberra on the situation facing our farmers here in SA.

We meet regularly in Strathalbyn or here in Goolwa.

There is a growing list of horror stories coming forward as more people approach us for help.

We have a farmer threatened with a $30k fine if he fails to plant "Prickly Acacia" along his creek line because he removed silt from his dam and placed it on the bank without a WAA. A practise authorised by the govt until recently when the laws changed.

Another farmer was threatened with a $125k fine for having Redfin Perch in his dam, a fish that is rampant throughout SA waters, a fish that govt departments have actually fed into many streams and water ways.

A farmer was stopped from repairing his 30plus year old dam wall. The reasons he could not pump the dam out without a water permit. He could not lower the height of the affected wall without a permit. The only thing he was allowed to do was let the dam wall collapse and flood his neighbors house.

Another farmer was rammed by an NRM vehicle and dragged several meters. He survived by clinging to the bullbar spent a week in hospital and recieved a fine for contempt of court because he could not afford the legal costs to attend.

We keep getting told about the damage done to the enviroment how we must return water to the enviroment etc.

Many of the documents can be traced back to treaties and UN policy
