For Like minded people who like to see-
Wow! There is so much going on!
Here at Just Grounds, as you know, we have our Convoy of No Confidence campaign(being led by the National Road Freighters Assoc).
But there are also LOTS of other initiatives going on - both here and from other groups, all reflecting the growing feeling in the community: The Gillard-Greens Government is Gross Garbage. Or similar - that was my attempt at alliteration - LOL!
Take a look at this list, do what you can and forward these on by email, Facebook, Twitter or whatever....
It only takes a few minutes to do these:
1. Go to www.hadenough.com.au and sign the petition here. As of today, there are >3000 signatures, and growing steadily.
The Editor at Had Enough! is well aware that Governor General Quentin Bryce is unlikely to follow in the footsteps of a famous predecessor, John Kerr. However, that is not the main point. Every vote is another voice in the growing chorus of discontent around Australia - and as the chorus swells, the anxiety in the Labor ranks grows with it....
2. Join the Return to Sender campaign when you get your carbon tax explanation from Greg Combet. Send it back!
3. Download the booklet "Carbon Dioxide and the Politics of the Carbon Tax" from the Stop Gillard's Carbon Tax site and forward it on.
4. Sign Barnaby Joyce's petition and Say No! to the carbon tax.
5. Go to OzVotersOnline and give your opinion on the carbon tax.
6. If you are on Facebook go to I Bet We Can Get 100000 People and "like" the page.
7. Sign the gopetition started by JG member, Dallas Miller.
Other Initiatives:
1. The Consumers and Taxpayers Association is holding the Election Now Rally in Canberra on August 16 at 12 midday. It will be attended by Chris Smith of 2GB radio, the list of other speakers has not been finalised as yet.
Obviously, we will be busy with the Convoy Rally on August 22, however, pass the word on about this Rally, too.
2. There is also a Rally planned for tomorrow!! in Sydney, I believe. I've misplaced the details, so can anyone who knows please add a reply.
And, don't forget, there are heaps of ways to help Spread the Word about the Convoy, including organising a local convoy to your nearest MP's office!
I'll keep adding to this, so please let me know if I've missed anything!
cheers,
Julene

Cate, could be out of my league too - LOL!! But I'll look into it.
In the meantime, there are polls here at Had Enough! and the main page of the Courier Mail website(bottom right corner) - thanks, Denise, for the latter. No doubt there are others around, too.
Which reminds me - I forgot to add Barnaby Joyce's petition to stop the carbon tax to the list above. I'll do that now.
cheers!

Julene - well, just to add a little bit MORE to the site - a number of people are asking if it is possible to conduct a poll on the site.
1) Do you want a Carbon tax ?
2) Do you support the Convoy for the people by the people?
Apparently Poll daddy sets these up - way out of my league here! lol (as usual!!)
Cheers Cate :)

Permalink Reply by Anne Easby on August 4, 2011 at 12:05pm You're doing an amazing job with the convoy and at the No Carbon Tax and Election Now websites, we're trying to help in our own small way. I've listed the 11 routes on No Carbon Tax under the rallies tab and we'll be putting up other ideas to help you on Election Now.

As a well over 50 woman, I'm a technology dinosaur. These turbulent times need positive actions, so I've learned how to use Twitter (much to the amusement of my grandchildren). No wonder Kevin Rudd thinks it's such a good idea. I've been using Twitter for the past 2 weeks to try and drive people to the No Carbon Tax and Election Now websites and it definitely works. Every time I 'tweet' about one of the websites, the count climbes by thousands in just a few minutes.
I've opened a Twitter account on behalf of the Convoy. It's called @convoy2canberra and we already have 25 followers and I've only 'tweeted' 4 times. I've linked the account to the No Carbon Tax and Election Now twitter accounts because we're followed by 2GB, 2UE news, Paul Murray, the NSW Liberal Party etc. So once the convoy is up and running, we'll already have lots of media followers and at the same time, increase public awareness of the event.
I can give the password to all the convoy leaders so that during the convoy, they can 'live tweet' their locations to everyone across Australia (and the world). Trust me, if I can do it, anyone can using a smart phone. If the convoy leaders aren't comfortable with Twitter, they can SMS their locations or messages of interest to my mobile and I'll do it from the office or from home. One good thing about getting older is that we need less sleep!
I've also started a convoy awareness campaign in Sydney (and I hope other cities across Australia) where drivers on 22 August will leave the headlights on in their cars and put car flags on their cars as well to show support of the convoy. In our own city-slicker way, this will be a visible reminder to the Government that city people are behind the convoy and we do care about what's happening to you.
I believe in people power and together, we'll pressure the Government to bring on an early election. Well done, Beef Central, and to everyone associated with the Convoy.
My email is a.easby@nocarbontax.com.au in case you want to talk to me.
Hi all,
Another opportunity to participate in a poll regarding the Carbon Tax here at OzVotersOnline
cheers,
Julene

I've just bought a few copies ,of which I plan to mail one to my local MP,since she keeps sending me climate change pamphlets in her reponses to my letters to her.

I've spread the word about the online petition but people are getting a return message "Reactive denial". I assume the Govt has blocked us!
