Senate Inquiry public hearings THIS WEEK - Wagga Wagga, Thursday and Rockhampton, Friday

Attached are copies of the programs for this week's two public hearings.

While this is an inquiry (and presumably seeking the truth in these matters) it is also very much about politics. If any AGMates can get to these hearings - I think it is really important that they do so...

As a group we have made submissions and helped others to do so... this is the next step... I believe the more public interest, public scrutiny and presence of concerned members of the public - the more transparent the process and the better the result.

I have to apologise - I will not be at the Wagga Wagga hearing - my work week this week is too heavy.

Thanks Dale

I haven't read many submissions - but the "balance" looks better in Rockhampton compared to Wagga Wagga.

Am really hoping some AGMates can go to both hearings - we are (I think) becoming a force to be reckoned with... it is good if we can reinforce that by "turning up", and then write a short "report" post here - keep the bastards honest...
Hi Guys,

I'm glad to see my submission also made it (#93) I'm not hopeful of a good outcome from the inquiry - I'm more hopeful that it adds to the groundswell of people who are p'd off with the Government continually trying to tax us on anything and everything. As landowners we all need to make a stand against any and all property taxes / rates and the like, such as Livestock Health and Pest Authority and so on. Its all a big con! Everything now presumes that there is an implied debt and yet how can you accrue debt that you did not agree to in the first place?

...Ian
Well done Ian - I too am not that hopeful that much good will come out of this... but (as you said) it adds to the ground swell... AGMates just have to keep on turning up and turning up.... water wearing down stone....
If interested have a read of submission number 85 by a Public Servant who wished to remain anonymous.
My jaw dropped reading this.... "wishes to remain anonymous" and I wonder if there is a "buyer beware" clause in his/her publicly financed super fund? Our taxes have paid for him/her to write this stuff, and you would think that his/her supervisor knows very well what has been written here (how many NSW public servants paid for out of the public purse actually worked on this?).... but he/she (and they) slide along the floor anonymously......

WOW - well guess we knew this wasn't going to be a cakewalk....
It really looks like this submission came from somewhere near the top of the pile, I think reading it. Lots of helpers no doubt...ahhhh if only I had had that sort of resource to draw on for my submission.
