Making Your Submission - Due by 5th March

Just Grounds is a people power movement. The Senate inquiry while taking submissions from larger and professional groups will only be effective if thousands of individuals impacted by the Native Vegetation Laws and Greenhouse Gas Abatement measures have their say. The Senate inquiry gives ordinary individuals the opportunity to have their voices heard.

This group has been set up to offer assistance to individuals to make their submission to the Senate Inquiry. It is simple and easy and we are looking for 1,000's of individual submissions and will post proformas, templates and copies of submissions here to assist everybody to have their voices heard.

Background Information.

The Senate Inquiry is the result direct of pressure that was bought to bear from the Peter Spencer "Tower of Hope" Property Rights rally at Parliament House on the 2nd of February. With over 4,000 farmers and supporters, it was the largest rural based protest seen in Australia for a quarter of a century.

General Information.

* Information about the Inquiry
* Terms Of Reference

(1) The impact of native vegetation laws and legislated greenhouse gas abatement measures on landholders, including:

(a) any diminution of land asset value and productivity as a result of such laws;

(b) compensation arrangements to landholders resulting from the imposition of such laws;

(c) the appropriateness of the method of calculation of asset value in the determination of compensation arrangements; and

(d) any other related matter.

(2) in conducting this inquiry, the committee must also examine the impact of the Government's proposed Carbon pollution Reduction Scheme and the range of measures related to climate change announced by the Leader of the Opposition (Mr Abbott) on 2 February 2010.

* How to make a submission to a Senate Committee inquiry

# A submission may be as short or as long as you like. It may contain facts, opinions, arguments or recommendations. It may cover all the points in the terms of reference or only some of them, depending on what interests you. Supporting documents may be attached.

# There is no prescribed format. However, to make submissions most useful we suggest:

* the terms of reference of the inquiry can be a good guide to structuring a submission;
* if the submission is longer than a few pages, please include a summary at the front; and
* submissions published on the Senate website will be converted to pdf format and, therefore, may have a different appearance to the document that was submitted. Sensitive material and confidential information should not be sent via email because it is not a secure medium.

* Upload your Submission Online

Join this group to receive email updates, information and to see copies of other members submissions.
