For Like minded people who like to see-
The latest news that Canada has formally withdrawn from the Kyoto Protocol because it simply has not met its Kyoto targets for carbon dioxide emissions reduction should be of interest to other similar countries.
He said meeting Canada's obligations under Kyoto would cost $13.6bn (10.3bn euros; £8.7bn): "That's $1,600 from every Canadian family - that's the Kyoto cost to Canadians, that was the legacy of an incompetent Liberal government".
Gentle readers might like to think about how Australia has met its Kyoto obligations - and no, we can't hold our heads high. Australia has met its Kyoto obligations on the backs of a minority of Australians: farmers who have had their property stripped off them with no compensation. Farmers who have been jailed for daring to farm the land set aside for carbon credits - "for the environment". Farmers who have been bullied, harassed, and stripped of their civil and political rights. Yes. That is how Australia met its Kyoto obligations.
Read about how Australia's farmers have been abused, in the name of moral vanity. Read the Senate Enquiry report - even if you flip down to the Conclusions and Recommendations, it is worth pondering how on earth we could let this happen. Individual submissions are there for any interested reader to peruse.
In Queensland, Green preference deals have given rise to some of the worst abuse - by way of Vegetation Control legislation which does not meet any democratic standard.
Many Green voters will more likely than not support the human, civil and political rights of refugees. They may be interested to know that Australian farmers have been summarily dismissed, at a huge social cost, using that precious 'Green' vote to do so.
I would hope that Greens supporters look at how democratic freedom and human rights have been vandalised, and think again before destroying any more lives with their pencil on election day next in Queensland.

All too true Ruth,
Much like in Durban- the whole thing was going to fall over and Australia was able to broker the "Aust clause" as blackmail to get its special "free" ride(many years ago). Nobody in Aust was aware of these deals till only recently when all the poison had been administered in the form of LAND USE CHANGE ie forcibly causing previous capital production expenditure to revert back to regrowth and forbiding any newproduction attempts on privately owned land.
All done in the guise of-"good for environment , sustainability and all the other greenspeak nonsense." It was a free kick to the greens and labor has been able to benefit from green preferences . What an irony when Kyoto was a fraud from the beginning and Howard played the game -just in case and come in spinner crudd -signed it.
The Spencer -discovery proves to the unit number- the exact amount that the "Aust clause" has delivered to the Federal Govt. In fact being just under the required 108% of 1990 output due to the farmers and private landowners being stripped of their property rights in the form of carbon credits is the only reason that we aren't like Canada- up for big fines as we would be @ 133% of 1990 otherwise.
Our Govt has a simple choice- settle with the landholders for damages- lost production, fines, amend the daconian vege laws- then and only then will they OWN these kyoto units to trade and avoid the unipcc fines.
or tell the UN and Kyoto suckers to go to hell like Canada and work out a compensation package pro rata for all landowners for the damages of the unlawfull LAND USE CHANGE.
This would be a declaration of war on the gangrenes and would leave Gillards- clean energy cancerous taxs on the scrap heap. It all will hang on the courts and the timing of the next election.
Ruth - you have a very sensible grasp of so many issues- we really need you in the QLD parliament.
Honest Government, Fair Rights to property and compensation, Australia and our people strong and proud, reinstatement of values and respect
