For Like minded people who like to see-
The Queensland Country Life today carried a story entitled “WWF sinks hooks deeper into beef industry” by Brad Cooper which makes it beyond doubt that WWF is to project manage beef sustainability courses at the behest of Mc Donalds and with the full co-operation of CCA and MLA.
WWF, through their influence with the Greens in Queensland have been responsible for Vegetation Management laws implemented without ‘just terms’ and with no carbon credit for avoided deforestation. Those were stolen by the government to meet its Kyoto commitments.
An early task force reviewing damage to the Great Barrier Reef wanted to say that the reef was in good shape. However they bowed to the protests of the WWF representative and highlighted the small areas that appeared slightly damaged. WWF have claimed ever since that farming and grazing are damaging the reef in spite of lack of research and knowledge that urban centres are actually causing more alleged pollution.
All green groups have been involved in Wild Rivers legislations and declarations and possible World Heritage listing claiming on the one hand that the areas are either pristine or retaining most of their natural values and on the other denigrating the cattlemen who have lived there for more than 100 years for degrading the landscape and it therefore needs protection.
This legislation has put those graziers in a time warp whose effects will not be felt immediately but over time as it becomes impossible to adopt the results of modern research they will start to bite. One of the great lies told is that declaration will protect the areas from mining and CSG exploitation.
The greatest harm of all has been to our reputation, our self esteem and sense of worth that comes from knowing that you are doing a worthwhile job-feeding the people of the world.
WWF and others have taken the flawed findings of ‘Livestock’s Long Shadow” and publicised them to the point where vegetarian celebrities, authors, journalists, governments and research organisations including our own National Health and Medical Research Council have urged limited or zero meat intake on environmental grounds.
The upshot is that our credentials have been damaged as part of a campaign by environmentalists to discredit those of us who live by the land in order to set themselves up as the environmental gods and the only people deserving of dictating policy and receiving funding and even big business has fallen for the scam.
Be aware that when you respond to that beautifully worded invitation to an Ausgraze workshop your presenter will be in the employ of WWF and the “voluntary” course will soon become mandatory.
Have CCA and MLA let us down once again by not highlighting the science that is on our side instead of responding to the dark green Mob.
The table below is found at page two of the document, Naked extortion? Environmental NGOs imposing [in]voluntary regulations on consumers and business found at the IPA web site. To read the entire document click on this link.

Permalink Reply by Joanne Rea on September 7, 2012 at 4:26pm WWF’s bid to insinuate itself into Australia’s sustainability program has again raised its head with a speaking appearance by WWF’s Ian McConnel at the FACETS Conference (QCL 30/8/12) http://www.facets.org.au/
Among the sponsors of the Conference is the MLA’s Target 100 program.
There are those in Cattle Council and associated with the Australian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef that would have us believe that it is a benign little Australian organisation set up on principles of democracy with respect for the opinions of all and acting on the decisions of the majority.
This is a delusion.
They may believe that “the Australian roundtable is not a subsidiary of the WFF, nor is it convened by the WFF, nor do they have any greater level of influence around the table than any other member”.
However it is an inescapable fact that the Roundtable is the brainchild of WWF and it is part of their master plan to control 15 key commodities around the world. To believe anything else is not to have done the research and it is to dance to WWF’s tune.
WWF’s Jason Clay who was prominent at the Denver, Colorado meeting from which this all stemmed is the author of the Market Transformation Initiative (MTI).
MTI aims to target the largest businesses in the supply chain for 15 key commodities so that they can control the entire chian. These commodities, as well as beef include such things as palm oil and forestry products.
What they do not publicise is that their certification schemes often hurt the poorest producers in the poorest countries.
Australia also needs to realise that Clay believes in intensification of all agricultural production in spite of any problems this may present and finds the sheer area of land that is used to graze livestock in a system like Australia as unacceptable.
Hello Joanne,
Very good letter and info in the QCL. It is one small comfort to be proven 100% correct -isn't it! Sad thing is that the few of us that had a bit of fight in us initially are burning out ,dying (Noel, Stephen Fuller) and there doesn't seem to be a pulse left in this country anywhere.
Cattle Council's Immediate Past President- Greg Brown making some b******* moves at accountability within MLA- what a spinleles joke they all are. They all didn't mind their free trip to Denver that kicked off all this WWF crap.

Thank you for your replies. Yes Rob it is small comfort. It looks like we will have to get the research mill going again.
There is no doubt that this is part of a global initiative and Australia as usual looks like a pushover with a bit of good PR.
One needs to ask the question "How did they get McDonalds on board?"
Moira Moynahan from McDonalds hinted at the answer at Beef Expo when she said "We are a big target".
We have already seen the treatment of JB Swift in Brazil.
I am not sure that Greenpeace has taken its accusations against JB Swift from its website even yet in spite of being ordered to do so by a Brazilian court.
Permalink Reply by Joanne Rea on September 9, 2012 at 8:41am These large companies are given the distinct impression that just saying no is not an option.
As well as this action against JB Swift, there have been actions against Harvey Norman for not using FSC (part of the same deal) certified timber.
Perhaps one of the deadliest has been the campaign (written about on other JG sites) against Ta Ann Tasmania which has had its markets slashed by green campaigns.
These are conducted mostly by Greenpeace. We have already written but I will do so again when I get a minute about the Good Cop, Bad Cop scenario played by WWF and Greenpeace.
Contrast these companies experience with IKEA who have signed up to the program (no doubt at great cost) and are basically left alone by the heavy hitters in spite of some green groups believing that some of their timber comes from High and Very High Conservation Value Forests.
There are other examples but CCA are obviously worried about the campaign which could be run against our industry.
I don't want to play down the possibility but do we really want to hand more power to global bullies. We have an organisation which we fund which has the fire power to get on top of this but they are a bit battle shy.
Their aim is to control the entire supply chains of 15 key commodities so the stakes are high. We are just what they see as a very vulnerable small skirmish in a very large war.

This is extremely interesting Reading especially when looking up some of the UK government links and the Implications that arise from this style of Goverenment thinking,Forewarned is Forearmed is this the early stages we are experiencing of a similar attack on the once assumed common rights our Societies are based on.
Permalink Reply by Joanne Rea on September 9, 2012 at 6:11pm Stephen,
There are threats to our rights from all directions.
"Interesting" doesn't even begin to describe this article.
Permalink Reply by Stephen Cox on September 12, 2012 at 12:13am Some good leads here as it seems WWF is up to it's old tricks used in the USA,When remembering we vary between 5~30 years behind America on following in there footsteps in so many ways the US provides a good insight as to what techniques we can expect to be used against Australian Industries be they Rural or otherwise.
But just as people tend to be creatures of habit so are organisations such as Greenpeace and WWF,Here is a House appraisal in short form regarding just how damaging the policy direction championed by WWF actually has proven to be in the US.
Fully explosive is the truth of results that are a proven outcome from taking on board the practices relayed by WWF and Greenpeace,Nothing better to expose the fabrications of those organisations than a detailed House investigation thatn highlights the failures and whose agenda they were.
While only a summary none the less it allows you insight into what to search for to gain valuable political capital in the fight against these groups of radicals.
Honest Government, Fair Rights to property and compensation, Australia and our people strong and proud, reinstatement of values and respect
