They will ALL get away with it, Labor the Unions, Thomson, Gillard, the whole lot! When the crooks are the ones in charge what can we the Voters do? The system stinks!

An astonishing amount - especially when you consider it’s to protect someone over alleged actions done not as a Labor member, but union leader:

THE NSW Labor Party paid almost $350,000 in legal costs for Craig T... before the troubled MP was suspended from the party in May.
More than two-thirds of the amount - $240,000 - was paid to Fairfax Media, the publisher of the Herald, under a settlement reached a year ago when Mr Thomson withdrew defamation action he instituted in 2009.
Another $108,366.87 was to cover Mr Thomson’s other legal expenses and some of Labor’s own bills related to the case, taking the total the ALP paid to $348,366.87.

Quite right Vivienne. Sad but true they will all get away with it, right from the beginning this was always going to be the end result because the government, the Labor Party hierarchy and various others, dragged it on and on so that in the end they would stay in power until the end of the term.

Now some people are even feeling sorry for that gutless, thieving Thomson. Absolutely amazing. But if Julia and her cohorts think most Australians will forget, they have a very big shock coming. Surely they can't be that naive. No one I have spoken to in recent months have anything at all good to say about the Government, they want them gone.

The fact is and it will always be the bottom line from now until the election, the carbon tax will bring down the Labor Party because they blantantly lied and not just Gillard, all of them.

They can play it anyway they like for the next 14 months and do all the spin and throw away lines about the heavens not falling in and such...IT IS THE LIE THAT PEOPLE CANNOT ABIDE. The carbon dioxide tax will kill them as a party.

This article by Larry Pickering caused him to be "suspended" from Facebook, for a couple of days and the offensive cartoon that accompanied it was also taken down. The article is an eye opener, the cartoon is lewd in its depiction...just telling you if you are sensitive. Unfortunately for the political pundits who undoubtedly complained to the Facebook admin people to get the article removed, Pickering also as his own web page

Politicians are certainly another breed. It seems to me because they are elected (more or less) to an office in  parliament they believe they are able to do as they choose, cover up any past misdeeds and carry on as if they are some sort of protected species.

Will politicians ever again be respected in this country as honest men and women? I don't believe they will because theu will not tell the public the honest truth about anything. It's all about studies into this and that and nothing gets done.

Most politicians do anything to get into power and do anything to keep it. They lie and they cheat and they rob the public blind with policies that achieve nothing apart from raising taxes to employ more politicians in more portfolios who then employ more bureaucrats to do studies and such and all we get out of it is BIG government achieving nothing.

I am so sick and tired of all the political correctness, the not guilty until proven guilty cry from them all. And even when in the long, long fullness of time they are proved to have been doing exactly what was said, hardly ever do they pay. Do they go to goal, not often, are they shunned by society, not likely,

they all go on to top executive employment doing f... all advisory work with a lot of other f.. wits. They say the job of a politician is not a bed of roses. Really...

I don't believe they will because they do not tell the public the honest truth about anything anymore and they have brough this situation upon themselves.   Most politicians will do anything to get into power and do and say anything to keep it.

Think about Bob Carr, he ran this state into the ground and he gets a pat on the back and is made Foreign Minister. What a joke.

Bob Carr is the typical example of the above. All the inderhanded dealings that went on in NSW Carr knew about and he ended up with an executive position with Macquarie Bank and is now the Foreign Minister with a resume that includes depleting a state and bringing it to it's knees.. But wait, he is tweeting on Twitter - how clever !

That's what we are supposed to respect in this country?  In fact that is obviously what Julia Gillard thinks we do respect in this country. If it wasn't so serious it would be laughable.

I thought the whole matter had been cleared up now?  And that he indeed had no case to answer, particularly since the 'whistleblower' hooker said "oops, I made a mistake".  Some mistake.  She is the one who needs gaoling, I thought perjury was gaolable, please advise if not?  Thomson is still the Member for Dobell as far as I am aware.  If he has no case to answer, then let it be.  Let Julia get on with governing, and the Opposition, who opposes everything, get on with opposing.

Tony Abbott, the sore loser who can't let it be.  God help us if he ever becomes PM. I know what I'll do.

Ahh so Linda spending near $500,000 of someone elses money is 'indeed no case to answer'.

I like your world Linda, send me some of yours so I can spend it now.

Your entire statement is factually inaccurate. Firstly the opposition doesn't as you put it "oppose everything" just bad poicy that shouldn't be there in the first place. Agreed perjury is gaolable so maybe he should be gaoled for lying to his own electorate and Parliament as well? To add to that as Max has said,in what world is spending near $500,000 of someone elses money, something to let be? Surely we are entitled to know just what that money was spent on?

Exactly Max, people seem to have forgotten the other $495,000 Craig Thomson spent, the Coalition need to make a lot more of this because there is so much more.

Roll on the election cannot wait to get rid of this Socialist MOB.

Craig Thomson remains a liar.

Because some woman now says she made some sort of error of judgement about who she screwed thus clears Thomson of any wrong doing in using nearly half a million dollars of HSU union members dues to pay for his lifestyle, then please...spare me from that sort of inane comment and go read the papers and the findings of FWA.

No it is not over for Thomson, nowhere near over. The police investigation into the corruption within the HSU when Thomson and Williamson were there is in full swing. They have yet to be charged but lets be clear about this, I would bet that criminal charges will not proceed until after the next election.   The only doubt I have about this is that the documents have been destroyed  within the HSU. But the money still has to be accounted for.

The people of Dobell were conned by expert conmen straight from the HSU union and condoned by the Labor Party who even then knew Thomson has been rorting the HSU fees.  I wouldn't worry too much about the people of Dobell though, they know what happened, Labor will not get in in Dobell. Thomson won't even be on the ticket, he won't get dominated. His political career has effectively ended even though he is still pulling the wage, what a waste.  He should save his pennies for the next 14 months.

Can't believe what I'm reading here, using money that hard working Australians have work their butts off.   So Craig gets to get away with having a great and wonderful time behind his wife's back.  While he has been traced back to the very room and time while he had written out the said cheque, and then the so called prostitute got cold feet, she new him alright, she was too dam frightened to talk, and he is still looking like his innocent only because the labor goverment can't afford for him to go under and down as he will bring them down as well.  Only job labor does well is the know how in cover up,  And I can't believe Peter slipper is going to fight for his clearing of his name,  dam he has such a long history of doing this, same thing again.  labor can't afford for either one to be in the wrong, so they will go to any lengths to cover up and make them squickie clean.  How insulting is that to the Australian people.  Sorry I believe toni abbot is the one to get us back on to a right track just for now, he is a family man,  always hands on, You always see him doing his best he can, he has to get in their and ruffle those feathers, and stir up the camp.  if not would like to take Bev's man from her as he is really doing his job well in Queensland.

With people who think like Linda - no wonder the country is going down fast.

After all it is about Craig Thomson stealing money to the tune of almost half a million dollars that belongs to members of the UNION.

Seems you think that is OK, Linda??

Criminals rule in Linda's world it would seem.

Now they are trying to blame the opposition - my gosh what a rotten bunch of politicians are in the box seat at present.

Even the PM has resorted to dirt digging - Anna Bligh tried that in Queensland but it didn't work.

You know Bev, I just don't get people. They don't care any more, they think rorting is okay. Take what you can when you can, dam honesty and integrity, they don't live by any sort of moral rules anymore it seems.

You are right, no wonder the country is going downhill fast, they don't deserve it. So I dam well hope they have to work until they are 70 to repay the bloody debt, serves them right for being greedy ........s.
