CASE TO ANSWER: Prosecutors called in to investigate Thomson report
FWA's general manager Bernadette O'Neill, in a statement released today, said the 1100-page report included 181 contraventions of workplace laws.

The investigation looked at the union's financial management under former general secretary and now federal Labor MP Craig Thomson.

Probably had to take some Paracetamol for her headache who is still in the room.

Kind regards

Caroline

Was that a headache ?   I thought it was one of the elephants in the room,  but wasn't sure whether it was Thomson, Slipper, or the backflips they have done on the budget ?

looks like Craig Thomson will be fighting for his innocents now.  Hmm,  leaves me amazed how they can get away with it.

Barb

Girls you forgot the biggest elephant in the room Swan that clown will continue to do even more damage to labor than ther others combined as he is the Money man,God help us all.

As for Thompson being in a position of power in a Financial institution which in reality is what a union is and the ammount involved it goes well beyond the realm of a "Civil " case as the head of FWA continues to spout and fits fair and square as a Criminal case.

It is only Criminal charges and a sentence of two yers incarceration that allow removal of a sitting member,Thompsons case genuinely warrants such charges and more than a two year sentence for his crimes if convicted,That is why Labor and the two stooges continue to support him for with him gone so are they.

I think the writing is on the wall and the proof of how close it is to occuring is played out by the recent Bob Carr act of bailing out by Brown, followed last weekend by the Rogue national from Western Australia coming back home to the Liberal National Coalition and Andrew Wilkie increasingly supporting the Opposition,Inside knowledge seems likely in them making their moves so close together to distance themselves from the Government

Chris Pyne and Julie Bishop were excellent yesterday. I saw Thomson smirking at one stage. All I can say is will he be smirking when he is sentenced?

Windsor is now saying he has read the FWA findings and is shocked.  Really? He should have done that before Question Time yesterday one would think, then he could have made an 'informed' vote on Thomson's suspension. But no, he chose to vote with the Labor Party again, as usual. Too late to be taken aback and shocked now. Typical Windsor though.

Now there are rumours about the private life of another Labor MP on the front bench. If true, these people just plunge from one scandal to the next. Nice Party! How can people possibly have any respect for this lot?

Thomson's vote is crucial to the communistic government,  never mind that he stole from people such as hospital cleaners, ward assistants,  kitchen staff etc -  some of the lowest paid members of society.  People who trusted him and others like him to look after their interests and protect their jobs.   What a low creature he is.

IN my opinion ANYONE who supports him and his retention in the parliament is equally as low.

Too right Jan. And to think it is unions who are running this country under the guise of the Labor Party.

That's really strikes fear into my heart Denise.  The country will be brought to its knees by these people. They have lost sight of what the Union Movement was originally about and are using the gullible members' subscription money for their own ends.    (oops, that pun was unintended,  but as it's not bad will leave it).

Pun aside,  some of these people are the scum of the earth.

Please never think that what the Union movement portrayed for so many years along with Labor was factual.

To give you some examples regarding unions.

Townsville during WW2  Wharfies went on strike refusing to load supplies for our troops in Papua New Guinea,The Troops not only loaded supplies themselves Unionists pelted them with Faecies as they did so.

Adelaide once again Unionists and yet again the Wharfies by far the worst deliberately damaged Brand New American Fighter Aircraft being unloaded on the docks by damaging them with the cranes or simply dropping the crated Aircraft,All this during the most critical times in the Pacific war.

Totally oposite were the attitudes of other Unionists such as the Merchant Seamens Union whose members in many cases gave their Lives keeping the supplies going to the front lines and the country running at Home.

As for Labor look up the Harvard School of Trade Unionism a faculty based at Harvard University that has since 1948 been instrumental in supplying an intense 12 week course to union Officials and Labor Party members from around the World. This course was funded by many of the Large Multi National Companies,Ever wondered why places such as Ford,General Motors,Coca Cola Amatil,Coles and Bunnings etc rarely if ever suffer from strikes,Are you beginning to get the picture.

Unions pay lip service to most members and in many cases ignore their needs or even betray the members selling them out to the Company especially the Companies with ties to the Harvard School of Trade Unionism.

Bob Hawke is just one of the recent Australian Graduates from that school,Labor has for many years been in the pocket of Big Business the very thing they acuse the Liberals of.Difference is even though the Liberals are not perfect there is a wide variety of people with differeng backgrounds in their Party.

So when you research and find out those details about Labor then much of what they do becomes clearer,Knowing those details do you ever think they will act to stop Coles and Woolworths from getting bigger and bigger as they ruthlessly wipe out any competition and increasingly charge us more and more whilst giving us less Australian Produce and more dubious imports at the expense of Australian Jobs and Futures.

When you understand these things then stuff such as Gillards Deal on the Mining Tax with the Three Big Multinational Miners behind closed doors takes on a much clearer aspect.

Exactly the same goes for Petrol companies price gouging Australian Motorists,Yet again Multi Nationals with Ties to The Harvard School of Trade Unionism.

When you Research this topic you quickly find that many from the Left side of Politics deplore this particular organisation because of it's ties to Big Business.

And you thought the Labor Party was a Left of Centre Party based on Socialism,Wrong they are simply a bunch of greedy treacherous grubs selling you and your country out and playing people for suckers.

AND THE PLOT THICKENS :

ALP paid Craig Thomson's Fair Work inquiry legal bills

FORMER Labor MP Craig Thomson is embroiled in a new controversy, with revelations he has "for months" been receiving legal assistance from the ALP to fight his sleaze allegations.

The ALP last night confirmed it agreed last September to engage lawyers Holding Redlich to assist him in the Fair Work Australia inquiry, which found he improperly spent $500,000 of Health Services Union funds.

Mr Thomson appears to have broken parliamentary rules by failing to declare the assistance in the MPs pecuniary interest register.

Maybe we are just starting to see the reasons for the delays and extrodinary time taken for enquiries to conclude in the Thompson case.

From Andrew Bolt;

UPDATE

Paul Sheehan mocks Thomson’s defences and details the extraordinary delays in holding him to account - delays which have turned out extremely helpful to the Labor backbencher:

Yesterday, even though the FWA report concluded Thomson had spent up to $250,000 of union funds in undeclared campaign spending, the AEC said that, as the FWA report had taken three years to appear, the statute of limitations had expired.
The core revelations were placed in the public domain three years ago. The charade rolls on and the desperate buy more time.

Prime Minister's hold on power threatened

.............,.

Mr Oakeshott said one of the reasons he backed Ms Gillard to be Prime Minister following the knife-edge 2010 election was because she was committed to ``lifting the standards of the Parliament itself''.

He questioned how Mr Thomson won Labor pre-selection for the NSW Central Coast seat of Dobell.

"Someone who has 1100 pages of findings against them but somehow got preselected at the same time starts to erode the moral authority of the Labor party,'' he told the AFR.

Mr Oakeshott said the findings of the Fair Work Australia report ``are starting to wave a red flag that it's pretty hard in my mind to reconcile (Mr Thomson) hasn't done something wrong''.

"Therefore it's hard to reconcile in my mind that the Labor Party themselves weren't aware through a pre-selection process that proper due diligence hadn't been done by then,'' Mr Oakeshott said.

Meanwhile fellow independent MP Bob Katter says the courts, and not Parliament, should judge Mr Thomson.

In a media interview Mr Katter said he would not support any vote suspending Mr Thomson from the Parliament, or forcing his resignation, until the matters against the MP had been heard by the court.

Hi Jan,

Maybe Mr Oakeshott's looking  back at the circumstances of his support of a minority government, is starting to tell, not on his conscience but on his self preservation. Realising there is a big possibility of him being un-elected in a short time, thanks to obfuscation by the government he supported.

I love the Wiktionary definition of obfuscation:-

The act or process of obfuscating the perception of something; the concept of concealing the meaning of a communication by making it more confusing and harder to interpret.

-

Un-elected means being unemployed. Tough.

Maybe he can be the office boy for Peter Besseling, the recent Independent member for Port Macquarie,  who lost his seat to the Nationals Leslie Williams.
