CASE TO ANSWER: Prosecutors called in to investigate Thomson report
FWA's general manager Bernadette O'Neill, in a statement released today, said the 1100-page report included 181 contraventions of workplace laws.

The investigation looked at the union's financial management under former general secretary and now federal Labor MP Craig Thomson.

Hi Denise

I loved the way Kathy Jackson spoke about Bill Shorten, his next interview should be interesting, if they ask him the right questions. Very brave Lady Kathy Jackson, good to see.

HEALTH Services Union national secretary Kathy Jackson says she was offered a seat in Federal Parliament to "hush her up".

Ms Jackson told Sky News' Paul Murray Live show last night that she had been approached by HSU boss Michael Williamson last year and offered a position in parliament in return for her silence over claims of corruption within the union.

"Asking me that, you know, he could organise it for me - and 'don't worry darl, I'll make up the salary difference if you want to go'.

"I said to him, 'Why don't you take it, if you want to go to Parliament - why don't you take it? I'm not prepared to go to Parliament, I'm here to represent my members."

Hi Vivienne, " Very brave Lady Kathy Jackson, good to see."  I have waited since the 24/8/2011 for someone to acknowledge that fact. The hate of the Union Movement Leadership towards those who stand up for their rights has to be experience.  She has had to endure that from all and sundry linked to Labor and Unionism. Brave can't describe it but it is at least recognition.

Best regards and thank you. Robert WN

On the 24/8/2011 when the story hit the press I sent the following to the Union

24/8/2011    To whom it may concern,

Your courageous decision this day to put your Union Members interests before all else is the finest thing to be done for democracy since 2007. I was formerly a member of the Institute of Marine & Power Engineers  and for this statement  “ Ms Jackson said the HSU national executive acted in the interests of its members, not the Labor Party .I applaud you all.  My experience although years ago demonstrated to me that was rarely the case in those days. I am also in the unfortunate position in living in the Electorate of DOBELL and the person concerned is our member. Thank you for showing hope still survives in parts of our democratic system. Hi Robert

I would love to see Kathy Jackson in politics, she is so honest and courageous, she is what we need. Kathy really laid it on the line regarding Bill Shorten,in last nights interviews, Bill must be seething. I don't think he has been out and about today.

It also looks as though Shortens scheme to now disband the HSU East Union is flawed, lets hope the Judge throws the Governments application out and agrees with Kathy Jackson. She will be a great loss to the Union and I am sure all the Union Members can see that.

Why am I not surprised that Michael Williamson and son were caught sneaking out the backdoor of the HSU with a suitcase full of documents yesterday morning.

Although one has to wonder why, if they knew there was an investigation they did not do it sooner....dumb and dumber!! OR they thought they were untouchable???

As for Thomson, he can say what he likes, the investigation goes back as far as 1995.

The house of cards is collapsing and heads will roll. Well done Kathy Jackson, I would vote for her if I was still part of the HSU.

Craig Thomson to fight civil action against Health Services Union over escorts, perks

FAIR Work Australia has recommended civil action in the Federal Court against a former Health Services Union official, believed to be embattled MP Craig Thomson.

Outlining the findings of a four-year investigation into the union, the industrial umpire said HSU members' money was spent on escort services during the period in which Mr Thomson was its national secretary.

“The investigation reveals an organisation that abjectly failed to have adequate governance arrangements in place to protect union members' funds against misuse” FWA general manager Bernadette O'Neill said.

“Substantial funds were, in my view, spent inappropriately including on escort services, spousal travel, and excessive travel and hospitality expenditure.”

The majority of 181 contraventions workplace laws and HSU rules identified in the FWA report related to a former official of the union, Ms O'Neill said.

One big happy family.....

A little information on the Health Services Union (HSU)

Let’s look at the types involved in the HSU:-

Craig Thomson– A New Zealand former HSU National Secretary then ALP Member for Dobell

Zoe Arnold- Married to Craig Thomson, former press secretary to Reba Meagher, ex NSW ALP Health Minister

Leo McLeay- former ALP MHR, HSU Ombudsman.

Mark McLeay- Son of noted bike rider Leo McLeay, brother of Paul McLeay, former (sacked for watching porn) NSW ALP Minister. Employed by Thomson.

Mike Williamson- National President HSU, former ALP National President, NSW ALP Vice-President, mentor to Craig Thomson

Alex Williamson- Daughter of Mike Williamson, staffer for Julia Gillard

Natalie Bradbury- National HSU Assistant Secretary, sister of David Bradbury, ALP member for Lindsay

Jeff Jackson- former State Secretary HSU, had to pay back $15,000 due to unauthorised pay increases

Kathy Jackson- National Secretary HSU, ex-wife of Jeff Jackson, former State Secretary HSU

And of course, the HSU members themselves - Expected to pay up their dues to support the above plus Thomson and his mates raunchy exploits.

Does anyone really need to ask what’s wrong with the union movement, the ALP or the country, because this scenario is repeated through most unions, most state ALP offices and the national ALP.

It’s the system that coughs up people like Thomson, Swan, Albanese, Shorten, Emerson, Combet, Gillard and many others who have slid into safe ALP seats using the union members as a tool to their progress. The poor old union members have no idea what happens to their union dues nor have they any say in it. Hopefully now they might start to wake up to the thieving and rorting which has been going on for years and the huge amount of money their union heavies syphon off to finance their sleaze and the ALP.

And these people are in charge of our taxes !!!!!

What an unconscionable thief Thomson is and Williamson, well, it looks like he got off with millions. It is unbelievable that they are saying in the Labor Party and Union hierarchy that the didn't know!

How could they not at least suspect something. Williamson was living the life of a millionaire on a Union Executive salary for goodness sake. Even his neighbours know something was fishy because of this lifestyle.

The Labor Party must have known Thomson ran his own election on HSU funds. The whole thing stinks and Julia Gillard and the government must have known.

Williamson ran the bloody Labor Party at one stage.

Windsor is a drovers dog, just wistle and he obeys.

Mr Windsor, who has not read the 1100-page FWA report, is sticking by an agreement he made with Labor to guarantee supply and confidence for the Government.
"I will be adhering to that agreement until I find good reason not to," he said.

I wonder what reason Windsor might find good enough. Might I suggest that the man being an outright thief might just be good enough reason, in fact very good reason? Or does Windsor condone criminals sitting in parliament.

Its all link up, she has had the say in much goings on, she has delayed, had things squashed so it wouldn't get printed to save her neck, She's probably had the police around her little finger as well, threatening if you do that I will do this.  She has tried unscrupulous tactics I bet with each department of whatever,  Else it would have been over and done with, its all been about her saving face.   I can't believe Craig actual is going to fight this saying his innocent,  what a wast of tax payers money.

Too many lies have been told to us now, naturally we aren't stupid and won't accept what their trying put over us, and we shouldn't either.  But they certainly know how to wriggle their way out of things the  blighters.

Barb

Caroline,  I thought Christopher Pyne was absolutely superb -  Did you see she of the flaming hair,  doing the old law court trick looking at a spot high on  the wall directly  ahead,  not making eye contact with anyone and probably wishing she was anywhere but there.
