Martin Bob Katter is of Lebanese extraction,Though the family has been here so long he definately is totally Australian,I once worked for Anthony katter Bob is his Uncle so i know firsthand from a family member his ideals.Witness the just released book about Australian by Bob should be a good read.
My father is Dutch and arrived here after a stint in a Nazi labour camp and then after the war spent a period of military service with the Princess Irene Regiment in Indonesia. After getting shot by Sukarnos forces near Malang in Java (near where Sukarno is now buried) he went back to Holland and then came to Australia.
As I child I remember noticing that my father was a tradesman in a factory but the fathers of the Australian kids I went to school with seemed mostly unskilled. So why did Australia import foreigners even then instead of looking after their own?
I am not opposed to all immigration however I think we should look after OUR people we already have before importing foreigners.
I don't know what game our politicians are playing but none of the big parties seem really to have our interests at heart.
