VALE NOEL PORTER

The shock of losing a great mate like Noel Porter isn’t something that I or the NRFA board will ever forget, as a contributing member and friend to everyone in the NRFA he was one of those people you had to love, his infectious personality and wicked sense of humour endeared him to all that had the good fortune to meet him.

I have many great memories of Noel from every encounter associated with the NRFA, be it Board meetings, AGM each year (and he never missed one) his performance at the Rockhampton AGM where he was the appointed Auctioneer for the donated items, that is a time I will never forget in my lifetime, I have never laughed so much in my life as I did on that night, those people fortunate enough to be there will hold those memories dearly.

I support the great things people are saying on JG, and is a testament to the greatness of our mate Noel Porter, yes, he was a Larrikin with a cheeky grin, he was also blessed with a boyish charm that allowed him to get away with murder, he was the most patriotic Australian you could ever wish to meet, his sense of fun always made him the centre of attention, and his loyalty to his mates is legendary.

Noel Porter was everything to everyone and the memory of his life will linger in our hearts forever, as the President of the NRFA for four years I count my blessings that Noel stood shoulder to shoulder with us through thick and thin, his commitment and belief in the ‘Convoy of no Confidence’ inspired everyone, I’m proud to call Noel my mate, and I will miss him.

Rest in Peace Noel Porter.

but this photo had been broken down again from this one.

I had attended a rallie in coberg where I had been able to take

Grunta his old truck, but this one I had enjoyed as I love seeing a great truck.

So glad I did the k's got to meet his family and mum Elaine, got to me Vivienne and Dennis "Darby" and another truck driver called Graham and another that work in Port Headland. So interesting to talk too. Was a great moment, everyone in that church felt it.  Felt the love that he had for his family, felt the laughter of different stories told, felt the respect from everyone to him, and after the service was arranged at the club  a terrific spread put on by the family, but we made sure we gave Noel the send off he deceived, all his family were great to talk too and made you feel so welcomed just didn't want to leave.

Thank you so much for being there yesterday, Barbara and Vivienne and any others.  Thanks for sharing a little of the day with us as well.

Beautiful flowers, too, to put with that poem.  Great pictures, Barbara and you look great.

Well he does know EB, as he had given me a big kiss as a present on my page,  and thats going to stay there now, and if anyone cares to scroll down to the bottom of my page all the photos are there from ages ago, have kept them there as its apart of justgrounds.

You did good Barb, Noel would be stoked if he knew.

Actual talking to Viv she thinks maybe was more than 400, as the church itself was pack and the forya of the church and outside as well.  Heaps there. The family felt everyone's warmth of justgrounds from all the different responses they had read.  Its going to be a little tough for them now, as he was well loved and now just not there.

Darby look so good in his suit and hat. Viv was really terrific, I will try and get a better photo of Darby though.

Sheep dipping never done it, never had too you must be a strong lady and know what your doing Pam.  I did folk art with a few ladies that had to do it, its hard work.  I have to admire women like you, and the dogs how they know what you want, amazing, now that is really something.

cheerio
