Two Australian Heros- that don't Give up the Fight!

Hello members,

Have just got back after a 10 day holiday to the Gulf - fishing , 10 other blokes - no radio ,computers and was very good to clear the mind and reflect.

I had almost resolved to put a hammer through this and vanish into thin air due to the hopelessness of all the time and energy spent for zero results.The country has stagnated and when things are rotten -right at the top -it is little wonder that even the opposition( while far from perfect themselves ) have not laid a glove on this pathetic national Government. PLEASE - every one sit through this interview between Alan and Michael.

Forget Political allegences and just think about the integrity of these people that are sending us over the cliff. We all know what goes on but when Smithy is brave enough to run with it - he looses his job. News Ltd and Fairfax both turn to water over the threats made! With the unseen powers involved - we see the root cause of every single issue that peeves us all off on here. I won't reach for the hammer yet as these two haven't given up and with the content of this interview, could well be the catalyst to purge them all forever . We must support their efforts by sending the links to anyone that might read them as surely they must go when this sinks in- where is the Governer General?????

Hi Barbara and Phill... Just wanted to check in with you both and check how Phill is holding up with the travelling. You must love driving to plan to go so far and here I am making the assumption that you will be doing the driving. Have been thinking of you both.

This is about the Health Services Union but I think it might fit here.

I feel so very sorry for his wife (NOT) as she was paid $400,000 to archive the Unions documents, e.g., removing staples, paper clips etc.

I wish I could earn that much for so very little.

If an Australian Workers Union official asked you, a partner in a law firm, to set up something called the “AWU Workplace Reform Association”, would you ask that person whether he had the union’s permission to do so?

Would you, a lawyer, excuse yourself from the matter if you were that official’s lover?

Would you agree that handwriting on an application to register the association looks familiar?

Would you later ask whether the union had authorised the payment of funds from that account for the purchase of a private house? Would you ask for the title of the property to at least be in the name of the union before your law firm advanced money to help pay for it, or facilitated in any way the purchase?

Would you agree with the assessment of Ian Cambridge, then one of the AWU’s joint national secretaries, when he protested in an affidavit: “I am unable to understand how Slater and Gordon, who were then acting for the Victoria Branch of the Union, could have permitted the use of funds which were obviously taken from the union, in the purchase of private property of this nature, without seeking and obtaining proper authority from the union”?

Are any of these assumptions incorrect?

These questions have been asked publicly and directly without receiving specific answers.

The general response given so far is that nothing was done that was wrong, or in the knowledge that wrong was being done, But specific answers to specific questions will be required.

Apparently one of the partners of Slater and Gordon resigned at the time, I think his name was Peter Gordon. Gillard never worked as a lawyer again, ended up working for Premier Joan Kirner then ran for Federal Politics, Gillard must have the 'goods' on a few, to have overcome that. I think this would be the reason Lindsay Tanner always refused to endorse her as a candidate.

. Bloody hell -to think Rudd and Gillard and co can talk about "working families". ALL the union hierarchy and the ALP candidates are joined at the hip and have been scamming millions off to their families and mates! Just have a look at this Williamson!

I hear this morning that the Public sector Unions in Qld - are going to "rally" together and "fight" this "disgusting" Newman govt that dares to cut all the useless jobs that are there. Didn't they notice the last election where their heros would all fit in a phone box these days. Cate Jones(Newmans foe for the seat@ Ashgrove- the struggling young mother /worker) with her young husband installed into a senior management position in Qld Rail - no qualifications, no experience, no job application- just a cool $350000 per year. Go Campbell don't stop for a long time!

ok rob will hit the gulf tomorrow, caint stay 10 days like you were able too, but enough so I can put my big toe in, or maybe hire a boat to go fishing, you said you caught fish for bait, I'm thinking maybe the carcas of a dead kangeroo we ran over and got stuck underneath our car, its rank just might pull in some, Haha, I thought it was the town itself that stunk, untill I look under our car. I had a few dogs fighting to get underneath.

Am looking forward to tomorrow Rob its been something I've always wanted to do.
