Real People - facing the forgotten issues with friendship and a little fun.
The purpose of this discussion is to gather together the photos; the youtubes and peoples comments about their support for one of the eleven convoys that made their way on a rendezvous at a rally in Canberra to express your concerns to the Parliament of this nation, Australia.
This is for all of you who had commitments that could not be abandoned; that turned out at your local town to send off or to wave onward a convoy or simply went out onto your roadway mailbox along a convoy route to place some decorations. This discussion is about documenting that for every person who made it to Canberra that there were a 1,000 who sent them on their way. This is to say to the Government that you are people of consequence, who care for this nation and for its future.
Those of you who only made it part way along a convoy route and just could not go any further this is also for you. Those of you who made it all the way to Canberra also comment here but please only about the support that you received along the road as the convoys rolled on towards Canberra.
I ask you all to keep this discussion to topic; there are other discussions that cover the rally itself and the road forward post rally. Links are below.

Permalink Reply by Elisha Seekamp on August 25, 2011 at 8:27am We were part of the Convoy of No Confidence send off in Clermont. In only 24 hours we gathered 300 signatures on petitions located in local businesses in Clermont. Many people from properties drove into town just to see the Convoy off and to sign the petition. One local beef producer organised fuel donations totalling about $13,500.00 in just one day to fuel the vehicles on the Convoy on the way to Canberra and on the way home. Nearly every person I spoke to said they wanted to go on the Convoy but had to stay at home to muster cattle, run a business, care for children or attend to other things. I personally couldn't go as we also had to muster cattle. The support in our local town of Clermont was just amazing and it can definitely be said that many, many more people wanted to take part in the Convoy!

Jacqui Bateman I'm not a member of Just Grounds but please, would you convey my support of the convoy. It's time the policitians did their job - which is to govern - instead of sabotaging the lives of rural and regional Australians.
Emma Mitchell I'm not a member either, but support it 100%. Took the kids to see them off in rocky, they got cranky cos we weren't following them. Please pass on my support
Eliza Pearson I am not a member of Just Grounds but you can put me down in support of the convoy. I'm not on any of the routes but have followed the convoy's news items with interest and was disgusted in the treatment given to the convoy by various (mainly Labor) politicians. 'No consequence' my arse, these are Australian citizens, people who vote and the people that these politicians are meant to represent.
Alva Allen While we were unable to attend the rally, we were with you all in prayer and wish you every success. Stay safe.
Jo Bloomfield My husband and I support the Convoy of no Confidence. We are a family operated cattle property, directly effected by the live cattle export ban to Indonesia. We supported the convoy for the reason that our own Agriculutral minister Mr Joe Ludwig refused to communicate for 2 weeks with our industry representative body the NTCA after the viewing of the 4c program. We supported the limited ban on cattle supplied to badly operated abattoirs in Indonesia but not the complete ban as imposed by the Australian government. No compromise, discussion or consideration of ramifications was given to our business, families or the Indonesian people for that matter. We travelled over 600km return to attend meetings in Katherine and then a return trip of over 1300km to Darwin. We were unable to attend the convoy as we have no staff at present able to be charged with the responsiblity of care taking our property. We have cut back staff numbers as a direct consequence of the ban. The convoy of no confidence has our full support and if we had attended would have been by us and our 2 children. Jonanne Bloomfield,NT producer.

I wish I could have gone with you amazing people. Sadly, I had to stay up here in Brisbane and work but I was with you all in spirit. I've never seen anything like this before!
Like all of you, I was appalled and outraged to discover that many vehicles participating had been forcibly redirected away from the protest site parking, thus making the turnout 'seem' smaller. The second outrage came when all Aussie citizens were spat on by Bob Brown, Tony Albanese and that Kelvin loser, as they sat inside Parliament house like cowards instead of coming out to meet you guys.
All I can say is well done, Convoy! YOU WERE A MASSIVE SUCCESS!!
