Here is a message from Just Grounds owner, Rob Moore, and below that are the next steps...

Rob Moore 24th August 2011

The Convoy of no Confidence has been a remarkable success.

I was extremely proud to be part of the 2000 plus peaceful protest. It was an unprecedented military style logistical effort performed by 'Salt of the Earth" Australians and their many thousands of supporters along each of the 11 routes.

The commitment of the Convoy leaders and the heirarchy of the National Road Freighters Association was an inspiration. The strength of character to embark on this unknown venture showed the true courage of everyone's conviction despite the threat of failure and ridicule.

After our symbolic drive through the Parliamentry precinct we all gathered on the lawn for the official proceedings. There was a wide spectrum of speakers representing Large Industry, Small Business and Social Groups. While all political parties had an open invitation to speak, only various conservative coalition members responded. Our own Just Grounds members Senator Joyce and Williams gave memorable speeches as did Bronwen Bishop and Tony Abbott. Two outstanding young speakers were, Rashida Khan from the Northern Territory and  Stuart Austin representing Australians Supporting Beef Farmers.

Due to a week of intense buildup and anticipation the Convoy had captured the imagination of the greater population. This was largely due to the wonderful support of the Talkback Radio across the country, which is the defacto peoples parliament. The leaders of this were the 2GB network - Alan Jones and Ray Hadley in Sydney, and Steve Price and Andrew Bolt in Melbourne. We sincerely thank them for their tremendous support. Alan Jones arrived from Sydney after doing his breakfast show of 3 hours and proceeded to MC for the next 5 hours without a break.  I personally, will not hear a word against this man, as his commitment to results for our country is there for all to see.

The Convoy of No Confidence was labelled of no 'consequence' two hundred metres from where we were in the House of Representitives. This is an insult from a disgraceful government by a minister of no 'significance'.

It was resolved that we would not submit the 30 000 strong petition signitures on the day. Given the short timeframe and massive support all over the Australia along the way, we are going to continue gathering signatures with an aim of 1 million to be tabled by Senator Joyce in the parliament.

The community spirit that the Just Grounds members have shown was one of the bonds that made the Convoy a success. It eliminated the isolation and aided the organisers to communicate ideas into action right across Australia in a matter of weeks. Give yourselves a huge pat on the back.

We have led by example with the future template for groups to interact and mobilise with one hundred percent participation-all for no cost. This is the beginning of the electronic era for us to be able to STAND OUR GROUND.

Julene Haack 24 August 2011

Thanks, Rob, for adding your impressions and thoughts on "the road ahead".

What I am presenting below is my own opinion for the moment, as Cate, Rashida and the blokes from the NRFA are still on the road, making their way home.

As soon as I can get official comments from them, I will post on here.

For the moment, I'm going to try to tie together all the ideas that are being discussed in different places on Just Grounds, and then I'll ask that we PUT ALL COMMENTS relating to this topic in this discussion.

That way, things won't get lost.

Bear with me while I try to put all this together....

thanks,

Julene

OK.

Number 1.  Over the next week, we continue to make contact with politicians.

This may include phone calls and visits to their offices, but the feedback we have is that emails CAN work too.

With emails, you can choose to focus on just your own MP, or politicians from a particular party; however, we are getting feedback that it may be more effective to email ALL Members and Senators.

The easiest way to do that is to use this email address in your "To" box.

mailto:mps@convoyofnoconfidence.com

Or, if you go to this link, you can send a pre-written email.

http://www.convoyofnoconfidence.com/convoy.html

However, since it is preferable to change the subject/content from time to time, the first link is probably a bit better.

The advantage of using either of these last two options is that the IT company which is assisting us can monitor how many emails are being sent, how many are being received and whether any are being blocked.  And I can post updates.

Number 2.  Over the next 6 weeks, we collect more signatures on the petition.

I will attach the petition for printing below.

** To all those who signed and sent the petition by email over the past few days, we would ask you to also print a page of the petition and physically sign it.***

Please also get extra signatures from family, friends, businesses and so on.

Here is the address for posting:

       NRFA

       PO Box 209

       Deeragun  QLD 4818

Number 3.  Discuss other ideas, such as coordinated city-based protests.

Good Morning Roger,

I have no idea Roger if I am looking at this correctly or not and I am hoping you can direct me here!?

here I go...

Will a Writ be drawn to remove Gillard only?

A writ can not be issued against the Senators until their 6 year term is up. That is from the commencement date of their term...

So an Election would be for the House of Representatives plus 4 Territory senates only.

WE still have to face off against the remaining bad pennies.

The Backbenchers appear to be the key to this whole problem. If they defect over the Carbon Tax for example – that upsets the entire balance?? A House Election would then be forced – right???

Gillard would never (not now) call for a half senate election = that would be far to dangerous for her.

I for one have a long memory and would not vote for Abbott. But I am one tiny pea in the large pot of soup. Maybe many feel the same way I don't know.

I have written to Mr Abbott and asked some questions of him. Reassurances if you like that under his leadership the carbon tax would not pass through legislation. I have had no reply.

So where do we stand? Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

If we push for the entire lot to go – who has the power to see that occur?

The GG claims she has no power?

The Queen claims she has no power?

The Current leadership would never do that!

And Mr Abbott appears not to have the power to ask for a complete new election and nor would he given his precarious position.

The Greens will die hard beside Gillard!

Thoughts Roger.

With respect -  Goanna

I started to reply then stopped mid flight and this is why:-

It took Noah many years to finish building the ark. Then all the animals came into the ark safely with Noah and his family and Yahweh shut them in. Yahweh then sent a great rain that lasted for forty days! The water rose higher and higher till you could not see even the tallest mountain! Only Noah and his family and all the animals that were in the ark were saved.

The ark floated on the water for about seven months till it landed on the mountains of Ararat. There the ark stayed until the the tops of the mountains were seen. Noah waited, then he sent out a raven and a dove to see if there was dry land. But the dove could not find a place to rest, so it came back. He waited a week, then sent it out again. This time the dove came back with an olive leaf in her mouth. And Noah knew that the waters were lower. So he waited another week, then he sent her out again. She did not come back.
Noah looked on the surface of the earth, and beheld the earth was dry. Soon after, Yahweh told Noah to leave the ark, and bring out the animals, to let them multiply on earth. So Noah did so.

Noah built an altar to Yahweh and used some of the clean animals to make sacrifices. Yahweh saw this and sent a rainbow as a sign that he would never again send a flood to kill all the people.

What year did this occur?

What is Gillard charging us a Tax for?  If indeed that great wave was a natural occurence (I mean a person could not be responsible for it) way back then why didnt someone step up and punish the people by charging them a tax?

I got the clients point of view - from her sole and faith.  It was her take on the carbon tax.  I applaud her.

Paul S:  Shame Gillard is a full fledge aethiest because she wouldnt understand it however, I wonder what Oakeshotts, Brown etcc excuse could possibly be?

Only a thought...

You are correct Max. Germany reduced its bushfires by 92%. This issue was given an airing on 2GB a few weeks back. Dare I say this but the fallout from bushfires is not only natural but extremely beneficial as it enriches the soils.  People who live in cities don't see this however, all they see is their dirty car which they washed the day before. We all know that some plants like Blackboys rely on the bushfires to germinate.  None the less, how convenient they decided to not deduct the fallout from our bushfires when they judged Australias percentage of global carbon output.

Max Dench said:

We are all quite rightly basing our efforts on targetting government MP's regarding the Carbon Tax and the problems with the current government, but, I tend to think some of our problems stem from the fact the we have become very much a Yes Minister society or government.

Most or many of the decisions that are made by governments are actually made by bureacrats, public servants, government employees, call them what you like. They plan or make decisions and then convince their relevant Ministers that these are what needs implementing. I know politicans are pushing issues but they have been convinced on them from somewhere. We also now have the problem of the Green's balance of power and that is an additional problem because they are now pushing their agenda from two directions, one through their politicians with this balance of power and the other through the public service which they seem to have invaded and are thereby able to push their ideas through this Yes Minister method and other methods like indoctrination of children in school.

An example of how public servants seem to get their way was given in an earlier post in a different article a few days ago. It was said that Germany was going to achieve their full carbon emissions reduction by better spotting of bushfires and thereby reducing their number and intensity of bushfire, but here in Australia it would not be implemented as it would mean a reduction in the workforce or something to that effect. This is not surprising to me as I have seen them in action, or I should say lack of action, National Parks employees at a bushfire in a National Park in NSW. It has been alledged that these employee receive triple time pay rates while at a bushfire in a National Park, which when you have seen what goes on you would not doubt it. Instead of receiving triple time, they should be on the same rate as the rest of us until the fire is out, that being nothing as we are volunteers, then they would have an incentive to get the fires out as quickly as possible and also an incentive to do control burns at the appropriate times to reduce the chances of bushfires.

Through this they would also achieve lower emmissions, this being what the green movement says we need to achieve, but when it actually comes down to it they don't really seem to believe in it because they don't want to get the results from the most practical methods as above.

The above may seem off topic but I don't think so as it is to point out what we are really up against and there are many similar examples. We need to target MP's from both sides that they are being used to push through agendas which often originate for the benefit of the bureacrates and public servants. We have a public services that is way oversize in the useless areas and underutilised where there is real work to be done like hospitals etc.

Changes in governments often don't mean changes in policies as the same public servants are still pulling the strings.

So yes target the politicians that if they don't change things then they will loose their jobs.

Well I think we should give a name to our petition.
We just had the CONVOY OF NO CONFIDENCE so why not follow that through with THE MILLION SIGNATURES OF NO CONFIDENCE and advertise it that way.
Get 2GB onto that as well and print out a front page to that effect.

Members of just grounds.

I agree that there should be a petition on the CARBON TAX, so we should encourage all to try and get Petitions up in their local areas and travels.

Whats more important is that we get a Petition going online  Nationally, and as some of you are aware and participated in   the online mini referendum  voting website WWW.OZVOTERSONLINE.COM.AU,which could do with a lot more support, the more votes the more credible the results.

Following   up on this discussion so far  on petitions, This website is considering  setting up a National online PETITION to run at  the same time  alongside the poll on the Carbon Tax question.

Hopefully this can be done fairly soon.

The pressure is on us as the legislation  is to be debated in the lower house  i understand towards late September 2011.

This is how the Petition would be headed,

We the voters of the Electorate  _________________  do hereby humbly beseech the honourable members of the Australian Parliament to stop the vote on the Carbon Tax being legislated on, and if that is not possible then as voters in our democratic process which says the majority view prevails then we  who have achieved  a voting result by this petition which is greater than 51% plus  in our electorate

respectfully demand that if our elected representative votes in favour of the Carbon Tax Bill then that member should instantly stand down and resign from the Parliament because they have defied the will of their electors  and thus have misrepresented  and let down their  constituents.

This  request for a  resignation and subsequent by-election is necessary to obtain change because the Constitution fails to have a provision For Recall of a Member for misbehaviour  and or misrepresentation of the Electorates wishes.

The Petition would be set out like this:for example

No.      Name printed in full.                Full residential address    postcode state     electorate

auto   Given/Christian then Surname                                                                  select by dropdown issued

What do you think of this , with the results being able to print out by electorates.

I am thinking as we all are, of the best way forward and I believe that being active in all areas is the key.

However, I think it is about time the unions were held up to tougher scrutiny.

These people claim to represent workers and heavily support labor.

A few of them now are squirming in their seats knowing that they can no longer justify their support of a government so arrogantly against the workers of this country .

This government is infantile in it's socialist ideology, an ideology that wants nothing short of the ruin of democracy and industry. The unions can now also be seen in their true light.

Many of us have already known for years that unions are basically just socialists using workers as an excuse to grab power.

Now they are strangely silent.....unless the spotlight gets turned on them.

They must be pressured into either aligning themselves with the workers by denouncing this government or risk losing a hell of alot of membership money.......(thats alot of brothel visits)

They must be pressured into showing their true colours. Money talks with these guys and pressure on super contributions and union fees will soon have them seeing red .....gillard red.

I feel this is a turning point if we can show finally something we have always known and that was proven emphatically for the first time on the convoy....Labor has never been for the workers of this country.

Pressure the unions into showing who they support.

ACTU must tell the Australian people once and for all,....are they for workers or are they just bullying, extorting socialists.

The great extent to which Labor even exists, is due nearly completely to unions.

They must be held accountable and made to tell the Australian people where they stand and who they stand for.

Pressure the unions.

Ask your union leader why he is supporting this anti worker government.

If you are a member of any union , pressure them to denounce the Gillard government or withdraw your membership.

Thanks to the Howard government you at least have that choice.

I believe they are nervous.

This is where we once and for all kill off the lie this country has lived with for at least 40 years, because

Labor have not been for the workers but for the looney left since Whitlam.

well said Pete - I'm with you.

They ARE indeed bullying extorting socialists.

Anna,

Print media is frightfully dear to buy adds and most end up as fish wrap . Our site here has cruised along slowly building and sharing with like minded groups (sort of a bush telegragh)...for they last year.

The Convoy has taken us to a new level with the city exposure. No amount of money could compensate for all the hours our membership put in. This new exposure has people like yourself find us  and bingo- what an asset in just one new member. Often the site gets quiet and it seems that there is only a few of us talking amongst ourselves. You put something up and it appears to be ignored etc.

This used to worry me as we all have plenty to do and I don't like time wasting. However - I have a google analytics account that says in the last 30 days there have been 73000 unique visits to the site.

This is up 280% on the previous 30 days.

This will fall off as a lot are a bit tired and need a break for a bit. As I mentioned in Canberra- the members "real lfe " input make this site a living community. This is the power and the edge over thousands of others out there. The site is a bit disorganised and feral at times (ain't that real life) but it is real!.

I view it similar to a fire station- not much can happen for some time but when we need to move to put a fire out somewhere- we only have to send the word out to our troops and we do what we can.

I pay the $60 per month to ning and have my name on the bottom but apart from that-I am just one of 3100 others.  I could probably sell ads here and make some pocket money but it would be more trouble than it is worth. Also money motives corrupt. My reward is having control and support of such good people to strike back at causes that are dear to my heart.

I identified the Peter Spencer-Just Terms  case and the Matt and Janet Thompson- Carbon hoax come green Dept payback- environmental case...........as the two test cases that WE must win.

Not only because they are all heroic wonderful people but because they are prepared to stand up and be the test case for all of us. I don't think that I would be exagerating to say that both cases would have buckled and disappeared off the radar if it wasn't for no more than a dozen people in the whole country.

Leanne and I found it easier to put in $1000 quite regularly when Peter couldn't afford a train ticket or decent meal etc rather than  annoying our friends and associates. Our site,Jo Nova and Anthony Watts in US- raised a brilliant amount for the Thompsons- childrens account. They are still hanging in there with a plan of action.  If or when Matt gives the word- I must continue to help them

Hi Denise,

I'd better get this sorted pronto!

If you go to the Main page -->  Convoy Announcements box --> there is a link there for the Petition.  Is it not working?

I set this up specially so that we can tell people, "Go to www.justgroundsonline.com and you will see the link right there at the top of the page".  We need to make this easy.  People don't need to join up to sign the petition (although, of course, the more the merrier!)

So do let me know ASAP if this is not working!!!

Thanks, mate,

Julene

I would like to find a link to the petition that works. The one there isn't working when posted and by this happening it meanies people aren't getting it. Unless members of JG but hen they can't find where it is as we have to go searching for it.

I googled the petition and got nothing though it was mentioned in all the links that came up, the actual petition didn't. Can we get a page on JG that they can go to to print off without having to join? So many people are wanting to sign now so we need to make it easily accessible.
