For Like minded people who like to see-
Here is a message from Just Grounds owner, Rob Moore, and below that are the next steps...
Rob Moore 24th August 2011
The Convoy of no Confidence has been a remarkable success.
I was extremely proud to be part of the 2000 plus peaceful protest. It was an unprecedented military style logistical effort performed by 'Salt of the Earth" Australians and their many thousands of supporters along each of the 11 routes.
The commitment of the Convoy leaders and the heirarchy of the National Road Freighters Association was an inspiration. The strength of character to embark on this unknown venture showed the true courage of everyone's conviction despite the threat of failure and ridicule.
After our symbolic drive through the Parliamentry precinct we all gathered on the lawn for the official proceedings. There was a wide spectrum of speakers representing Large Industry, Small Business and Social Groups. While all political parties had an open invitation to speak, only various conservative coalition members responded. Our own Just Grounds members Senator Joyce and Williams gave memorable speeches as did Bronwen Bishop and Tony Abbott. Two outstanding young speakers were, Rashida Khan from the Northern Territory and Stuart Austin representing Australians Supporting Beef Farmers.
Due to a week of intense buildup and anticipation the Convoy had captured the imagination of the greater population. This was largely due to the wonderful support of the Talkback Radio across the country, which is the defacto peoples parliament. The leaders of this were the 2GB network - Alan Jones and Ray Hadley in Sydney, and Steve Price and Andrew Bolt in Melbourne. We sincerely thank them for their tremendous support. Alan Jones arrived from Sydney after doing his breakfast show of 3 hours and proceeded to MC for the next 5 hours without a break. I personally, will not hear a word against this man, as his commitment to results for our country is there for all to see.
The Convoy of No Confidence was labelled of no 'consequence' two hundred metres from where we were in the House of Representitives. This is an insult from a disgraceful government by a minister of no 'significance'.
It was resolved that we would not submit the 30 000 strong petition signitures on the day. Given the short timeframe and massive support all over the Australia along the way, we are going to continue gathering signatures with an aim of 1 million to be tabled by Senator Joyce in the parliament.
The community spirit that the Just Grounds members have shown was one of the bonds that made the Convoy a success. It eliminated the isolation and aided the organisers to communicate ideas into action right across Australia in a matter of weeks. Give yourselves a huge pat on the back.
We have led by example with the future template for groups to interact and mobilise with one hundred percent participation-all for no cost. This is the beginning of the electronic era for us to be able to STAND OUR GROUND.

Thanks, Rob, for adding your impressions and thoughts on "the road ahead".
What I am presenting below is my own opinion for the moment, as Cate, Rashida and the blokes from the NRFA are still on the road, making their way home.
As soon as I can get official comments from them, I will post on here.
For the moment, I'm going to try to tie together all the ideas that are being discussed in different places on Just Grounds, and then I'll ask that we PUT ALL COMMENTS relating to this topic in this discussion.
That way, things won't get lost.
Bear with me while I try to put all this together....
thanks,
Julene

OK.
Number 1. Over the next week, we continue to make contact with politicians.
This may include phone calls and visits to their offices, but the feedback we have is that emails CAN work too.
With emails, you can choose to focus on just your own MP, or politicians from a particular party; however, we are getting feedback that it may be more effective to email ALL Members and Senators.
The easiest way to do that is to use this email address in your "To" box.
mailto:mps@convoyofnoconfidence.com
Or, if you go to this link, you can send a pre-written email.
http://www.convoyofnoconfidence.com/convoy.html
However, since it is preferable to change the subject/content from time to time, the first link is probably a bit better.
The advantage of using either of these last two options is that the IT company which is assisting us can monitor how many emails are being sent, how many are being received and whether any are being blocked. And I can post updates.
Number 2. Over the next 6 weeks, we collect more signatures on the petition.
I will attach the petition for printing below.
** To all those who signed and sent the petition by email over the past few days, we would ask you to also print a page of the petition and physically sign it.***
Please also get extra signatures from family, friends, businesses and so on.
Here is the address for posting:
NRFA
PO Box 209
Deeragun QLD 4818
Number 3. Discuss other ideas, such as coordinated city-based protests.

She’s the prime minister who has been selected, not elected: first by the factions after the political assassination of Kevin Rudd, and then by the Greens and the independents in a hung parliament.
Since then, the Prime Minister has had no plan to govern, just to survive. She’s committed to a carbon tax because Senator Bob Brown made it a condition of his support. She dumped hospital reform because the states wouldn’t give up their GST.
She’s committed to an expensive and ineffective poker machine measure because an independent demands it. And she has to keep expressing “full confidence” in Craig Thomson, the embattled member for Dobell, because he holds her keys to the Lodge.
This week the government has been focussed on protecting Craig Thomson’s job when the public want it focussed on protecting their jobs.
Instead, the Prime Minister has been in hiding, Mr Thomson has been in protection and the government has been in paralysis.

Permalink Reply by Paul Starr on August 26, 2011 at 12:32pm Questions for Tony Abbott.
1st. What can we do as a group to help him - will a million signatures have the desired effect?
Would a co-ordinated mass rally out the front of every ALP office in the land work (certainly easier than driving thousands of k's)
2nd. There are a lot of people sitting on the fence who would normally vote for an Independent but now are losing confidence generally. On their behalf I am asking if Tony Abbott would kindly repeat in the near future in Parliament, that he will in fact recind the carbon tax and do so with the greatest conviction he can muster.
The bigger question being : If Gillard embeds the tax deeply in a sea of legislation does he feel confident that the tax would still be recinded no matter what ?
Finally : Would Tony consider removing COMPULSORY VOTING and does he suspect as we do that many of those who are forced to vote are not Liberal voters anyway - thus enormously to his advanrage?
many of us believe it is UNDEMOCRACTIC and not in the interests of the LNP.
many thanks
Permalink Reply by Paul Starr on August 26, 2011 at 1:14pm Hi Paul,
Is aw Tony Abbott at the rally (a video) and he absolutely and positively stated, that he will recind the carbon tax - no matter what. He will win the next election because of abolishing the carbon tax and I think he is not lying like JG.
To your last point about "compulsary voting" your thought might be ok but I have personal experience with NO COMPULSORY VOTING in Switzerland from where I come from.
Think about it: We had 35% voting in total - so just 18% of the "voters" decided and still decide the outcome of an election or any referendum. That is 18% which determine the faith of 9 M people.Just a thought. I think it's a lot better everbody has to vote - but we have to ensure that they know what they are doing - not like in the last election when lots of people voted Green just not to vote for ALP and tech them a lesson. Well - we learned the lesson now the hard way.
If there is an election - we just have to vote for the Coalition and as a second preference for an absolute un-significant party or candidate. It's the only way.
Cheers.

Good comment from Tony Abbott, Denise. I also liked his introductory punchline:
This week marked the first anniversary of the election that no one really won. Julia Gillard was ultimately chosen by the Greens and the independents, not by the people.

Hi James,
Its a good try but the threat of expulsion from the Labor party will put a damper on that, yet there may be 2 Labor members who have the foresight to put there love of Australia before there party partisan
politics which will destroy this country.
What is needed now to go ahead after the Convoy is for all concerned groups to work together for the common cause.
So go ahead with the petitions , eventually they will be presented to Parliament and no further action as the numbers against will ensure that the Petition to just lay on the order table, gathering dust.
There are many organisations such as Just Grounds,Stop the Gillard Carbon Tax,Gallileo Movement, etc, all looking for funding to spread their word.
Why not approach ATIA, Australian Trade and Industry Alliance) whose 7 members are
1)Manufacturing Australia, (2) Australian Coal Association,(Housing Industry Association,(4)Australian Retailers Association,(5)Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry,(6)Mineral Council of Australia
(7)Australian Steel Institute.
All of these groups are against the Carbon Tax and should be asked to contribute working funds towards our cause.
The last two options are to vote on the only Australia wide online mini referendum poll ,
WWW.OZVOTERSONLINE.COM.AU, and when we reach over 51% of the voting electorate with a majority vote above 70% against the Carbon Tax, then a combined approach to the Governor -General requesting she not sign off the legislation assuming it passes the Parliament, using the analogy that under the unwritten RESERVE POWERS , she refuses to sign off because an absolute majority of voters say it is not in the Australian National or Peoples Interest , and let it be decided by a future Parliament elected after a Double Dissolution election. Because the Reserve Powers are unwritten , and whilst it has never been previously invoked and the Governor-Generals main role is the protector of the Constitution to ensure it it works in the interests of all Australians.
So lets get to it-- lets push on and get the job done.
james darby said:Thankyou Julene Haack for Post-Convoy Plan site. I will post later about my plans to Stop The Tax. The actuality that Gillard will not listen to the people has come home. All that will save Australia now is finding two Labor MP's who will cross the floor. I welcome any suggestions as to which two ALP Pollies are the most vunerable with regard to wanting to keep their Seat in Parliament.
So true Paul.
Excerpt from Paul Starr: we all know the kids are being indoctrinated and propoganderised (if that's a word) - my son at Uni has confirmed the leftist indoctrination on campus.
So maybe we get back to basics and educate the educators first.
I was really impressed by a comment from Christopher Pyne, Lib Opposition Education spokesman, on Lateline prior to the last election. Can't remember his exact words, but he claimed that the Liberals would get rid of the social engineering in the classroom and replace it with sound teaching.
I believe it is the indoctrination that has been taking place in the classroom for some years now that will be the downfall of Australia over the next few generations if not reversed.

Tongue in cheek I write: So nothing has really changed since the sixties. And here we are fifty years later.

Permalink Reply by Jeanette Hayden on August 26, 2011 at 1:56pm The Commonwealth heads of government come to Perth in October, Including the Queen and our GG. We need to make as much fuss and noise as possible the whole time that is on. This would also give Western Australians a chomp at the fight.
It would need demonstrations, convoys, noise etc etc and any other ideas that anyone else can think of to make the message clear that we want an election and are not happy with the status quo.
Just an idea.
