Hi Annette.
Why waste time to attend a workshop that is just another talkfest when the decision that the guesstimate sea level will rise by one meter is already set in stone by Council's real masters the NSW Government neither the Council nor the residents were consulted on this 100 year crystal ball speculation that to my knowledge is even now NOT State Law. But is being implemented as if it is DA knockbacks etc. The Council were just ordered to implement it.
Lets have a meeting about the immediate loss in property prices and land values due to this speculation far enough in the future to make sure no one can be brought to account for the rubbish, but of such immediate concern for the council and the State Government to use something that may or may not happen in the far distant 100 year time frame to control and steal residents rights to plan and use their legal property assets. The State Government should now consult and buy back all properties and land shown in the Sea Rise maps to be underwater. Until that is done NO land rate portion of Council rates should be paid on the FALSE Land valuations at present on these properties. Other properties land values should be reduced by the percentage their land is effected by these blue line guesstimates.
What immediate plan has the Council to inform the Valuer-General of the devaluation of all land under their blue line sea rise plans. In keeping with Council's Open to the Public policy its workshop is in the paper Friday and takes place the following Monday. Not at all wishing to shoot the messenger ,thanks for bringing it to our attention never the less this is just another Council Con trick.

Does the State Government wish to hold the land prices at a particular level and so this is a good way to do that? Years ago the Whitlam government announced that an airport was going to be built in the Galston area. There never was a real chance of this happening as the land is not suitable. However it did cause the landbuyers to think twice and to stop the price of land escalating. Fear tactics.
Look what happened in the Badgerys Creek Airport sage. Millions spent on repeated studies and now it is going to be abandoned and thousands of homes will be built there. Government of course would be the main stakeholders as they shifted everyone off the land including the dead. Over 120 of our family ancestors were moved to another site. Talk about sacred sites. Nothing is sacred when the government has an agenda.

Hi Robert,
You are correct in saying 'why waste time...' I know I certainly won't attend any of these talkfests however, I feel it is important to highlight how these gov tax collectors brainwash and scare the non thinkers little by little, chipping away at the psyche until the brainwashing is complete. I see so many small articles in newspapers, mags and online and know exactly what they are doing.

I wonder how this blue line sea rise will affect some of the Councillors as they have waterfront properties???

Hi Carol, And we are celebrating Anzac Day soon, but looking at every aspect of this Country today. Why pretend to celebrate the death of true Australians, who did not sacrifice their lives so we could live in Politically dominated serfdom with our Sovereignty sold away by our elected leaders to be ruled by unelected foreigners the United Nations through their UNIPCC controlled Kyoto agreements. Add to Badgerys Creek Airport saga the Sydney Metro fiasco another government disaster now dismissed from their minds as they concentrate in their next attempt at domination over the masses Climate Change. Notice them bending over backwards to pay these Sydney Metro displaced citizens and businesses their JUST TERM compensation. Robert Nickisson

Hi Annette, you hit the nail on the head directly it is the same tactic used by that other purveyor of spin the UNIPCC. They distribute and publish the lies world wide then when exposed agree an unfortunate mistake was inadvertently made but do nothing re the correction of the false information. On a totally different subject The State Lottery Sell Off watch how the NSW Government spin doctors and responsible Ministers slime their way out of this. I wonder how the missing $50 Million belonging to NSW was meant to be apportioned out or am I too cynical.

Hi Annette, It appears, although I didn't attend the meeting myself from the Advocate report Friday that those disadvantaged by earlier Council DA decisions have now had some justice. That of course will depend on whether when they re-apply again the actual DA's are issued. But we presume they will receive them . It appears the time to press WS Council about Blue Line area's realistic land valuations. They should inform the V/General of the change in status of these areas and request urgent revaluations and with it the rate reductions that apply to the new land values. What rate value should be on land shown completely underwater? I suggest the same amount as its selling appeal rates NOW on the open market since their 100 year guesstimate Blue Line level rubbish was Officially introduced as council policy. ALL residents with property and land effected be NOW officially notified by Council individually of their properties or land's changed status . Many shire residents would still have no idea of this new Council policy's effect on their lives and their usage in some cases of their land.

Hi Annette,
I will contact both at the same time. Council cannot have it's cake and eat it too. As it states the Council has professional scientific proof that certain waterfront land will be affected to some degree and other land and property will be surrounded and some underwater in the next 50 to 100 years. It is marked as such on their Blue Line Maps. With Blue Line affected land and property it's Real Estate value NOW immediately drops by the degree they are shown to be affected. What is the UCV of land and it's Real Estate Value when Council states scientific evidence and then mapping it as underwater? This should immediately be reflected in the Rating value Council charges on these properties and all Blue Line affected land. All need to be revalued and Council Rates reduced according to the corrected UCValues.
When the World of Science can tell the Air Lines when the Volcano plume crippling Air Travel will cease or when and where the next earthquake will strike. I may put some faith in 100 year LONG distance Scientific reports. But then I am not in Government in NSW or Canberra and intent on selling out the Country for rule by overseas unelected bodies such as the UNIPCC.

Wyong Shire Council has a new General Manager. It just so happens he is a Climate Change 'EXPERT'. He has been involved (board member) with 'the Kyoto Climate Change, South Sydney Development Corp and the Coastal Protection Advisory Committee.' (Central Coast Express Advocate,April 21,p8)

Also noted an application for coal mining -
area applied for- 4,053 hectares (including 9 hectares of surface) in the Parish of Wyong & Munmorah.
Won't the residents of Dooralong and Jilliby be happy. NOT! Looks like they will mine under Wyong State Forest too. (p15)

An Exhibition of Environmental Assessment for The Wallarah 2 Coal Project is available. Apparently they will extract 'up to 5 million tonnes of coal a year...up to 28 years using longwall mining methods.' (p26)

Yes we will soon see his credentials after he takes office of more immediate problem to Australia is the other first time leader wonder-boy Barack Obama and his coming visit to Australia. Given how he describes KRudd below, I would have some reservations on any character reference he supplies. KRudd smart but humble????

US President Barack Obama has described Prime Minister Kevin Rudd as his closest political match on the world stage. By that he means comparing his Iraq and Iran policy to KRudd's open borders to all border security .
In a White House interview, to be broadcast tonight, Mr Obama said Mr Rudd was a leader with political views similar to his.
"Kevin is somebody [with whom] I probably share as much of a world view as any world leader out there. I find him smart, but humble," he told ABC Television's 7.30 Report.
"He works wonderfully well in multi-lateral settings.
"He's always constructive, incisive. And you know, I think he is, like me, a pragmatic person."
Given KRudd's record since in the PM office how any sane person could compare himself to KRudd beggars belief.l
You will see the ETS con-trick resurface as the greatest threat to the world and mankind and a renewed push for its introduction during his visit. The greatest threat to the Free World and the Countries they lead is Obama and Rudd.

Robert & Geoff,
Obama & Krudd both worry me. As they have financially bankrupted their respective countries there will be immense pressure to pass the ETS (new tax).

I shudder to think of Krudd in charge of hospitals. Everything he touches ends up in a mess. A reporter asked him where he will get the money from to finance this 'hospital revolution'. His reply - we will train 6,000 new doctors, we will...spin,spin etc etc BUT he never said where the money will come from. What frustrates me is the reporter who just accepted his reply, she never pushed for the answer.

Can someone tell me what a Climate Change Expert is? I shudder to think we have one running WSC. I think it may be time to sell up and go but where on earth can you disappear to these days? :)
