For Like minded people who like to see-
The Media and beat up reporting.
I thought I might resurrect this discussion once again. If anyone wants to comment on some outright fallacious ideas by people who should know better, published in the press or given air time on TV, have your say here.
Permalink Reply by Rae Billett on March 23, 2012 at 4:58pm I would vote for anyone fronting up the Liberal Party rather than vote Labor. I would even vote for Malcolm T and I cannot abide the man. I can give or take Tony Abbott, don't care.
I am not voting for the person I am voting for the party and Labor is on the bottom of my list probably forever.
I don't understand why it is that people seem to think women should vote for Gillard because she is the first woman PM or have some sort of rapport with her. I can't stand her or Plibabsek.
I don't mind Wong even though I don't agree with her politics, she doesn't talk down to the people, although she does tell lies like the other two. Changes her tune as often as she changes her......

Permalink Reply by Ian Davies on March 24, 2012 at 9:15pm Well done QLD! lets lock arms & win back Aus from the U.N E.U S.I Global Unions Labor. The opposition party in any Gov should be the people enforcing the elected party to carry out "MY WILL". Lets never go back. States should be made to STAND THERE GROUND!
Permalink Reply by Michael Petterson on March 24, 2012 at 10:05pm plus if labor fails to take 10+ seats Campbell Newman might deny them political party status. Wouldn't that be a kick in the teeth!
Permalink Reply by vivienne skeen on March 24, 2012 at 10:10pm Lets hope that is the case, how marvelous would that be, and very well deserved.

Permalink Reply by Bob Stewart on March 25, 2012 at 5:30am Penny Wong? Bluddy Hell, what for? In all my years right around the world people that do not act straight do not appear to think straight. Politicians have forgotten that they are first and foremost, custodians of a great nation and not merely the grovelling hacks of a self serving political party. I have been witness to the election of otherwise intelligent people elevated by the Party into positions of authority who have neither the morality, or the talent to exercise it.

Permalink Reply by Rae Billett on March 25, 2012 at 9:25am Absolutely incredible result in Queensland. Well done you Queenslanders. Forty four seats bite the dust for Labor....including Anna Bligh's.
The Federal Government should take note. The pundits say Queenslanders voted them out because of broken promises. The promise of a vote on privatisation was not kept and the people have reacted.
If that is so then whether or not the carbon dioxide tax played a big part in the Queensland election and they are maintaining it didn't, then broken promises were what the people voted upon so that will.
"There will be no carbon tax under the Government I lead" will lead them to annihilation.
The Federal election is only 17 months away. She Gillard can't lead the party to that election(neither can Wong, Eb) but whether she does or not they will lose and lose badly. This time the people of the country will make sure it is not a minority government.

Please tell that you are joking! Peenny Wong who could not even face down a miow from a catty pollie in opposition without her fur getting all in a ruffle kurfuffle. Gimme a break. But then I guess not given your other somewhat deviant views. Disagree strongly. Penny Wong and her ilk would be the worst thing possible. You need mainstream MAINSTREAM all the way. But you have to choose mainstream with a tolerant but not deviant outlook. When you have people who have espoused a minority deviant lifestyle in power and given that power corrupts, you are on a dangerous and damaging slope down. I think our representatives should be married or at least stable single people with a sustained intelligent viewpoint and honest whether they are Labor or Liberal. Despite being a single parent myself I would abhor literally abhor to have a single parent as PM because I would want to know
a) what is happening to his or her kids (unless they were in their late teens and nearly grown up)
b) who is supporting them and looking after them
c) wondering where this single parent would find the time to be a politician and all that it demands of a person
Then you might say what if this single parent is financially stable and is able to support herself or himself I would still say then what is wrong with this single parent that he or she is not married. If a person cannot sustain a relationship like marriage with another person then there is something SERIOUSLY wrong with that person if they are in their twenties and thirties. Maybe forties and fifties it could be allowable to be single as most people divorced in the forties or later do not get remarried as you are pretty past wanting to meet a partner to get married and have a family. You settle into your own little routine.
No we should be looking at those who represent us very carefully and choosing normal over abnormal lifestyles. It is quite ok for us to respect and tolerate homosexuals and not to discriminate against them in terms of jobs, healthcare, education and social functions but once we allow them to pull at and undo the fabric of society we are setting about creating a slippery slope for all of us. We can be inclusive of them in many ways but in terms of pretending their lifestyle is 'normal' and deserves recognition in terms of legal marriage etc we are on a slippery slope to nowhere.
Have some commonsense.

Permalink Reply by Michael Petterson on March 25, 2012 at 12:44pm At least the Greens appear to be done in Queensland as they failed to take any seats to my best knowledge.
Honest Government, Fair Rights to property and compensation, Australia and our people strong and proud, reinstatement of values and respect
