For Like minded people who like to see-
By being able to express their true opinions here on Just Grounds it is hopeful that a report card will emerge on the progress or lack of it in NSW as seen by the people most effected by the new Liberal Leadership given the mandate they received for cutting away the deadwood of many years of Labor and returning NSW to previous laws regarding Land rights for citizens with both Rural and Coastal properties that were removed under Labor using the UNIPCC hoax and fake estimation of Sea Rise over the next 100 year time line .And removing the rights of Property owners and Prime Agricultural Land owners to say No to the invasion of their lands by Coal Gas Companies and Windpower generating Companies and to the potential contamination of the ground water reserves by this in most cases unwelcome development.
In November 2009 the NSW LABOR State Government released a number of policies to provide guidance in specifically addressing the impacts of climate change and NSW State Government Sea Level Rise Policy Statement was handed to Councils to implement.
It should to be noted as Opposition Leader our Premier O’Farrell (pre-Election in Parliament) described this Labor Sea Rise Legislation as The Coastal Destruction Act.) Yet he has changed nothing since taking office A year on the progress under our NEW Liberal Government is either non-existent or painfully slow and Green and Labor Councils all over NSW and especially the Coastal Councils who have embraced the Labor Sea Rise Levels Policy Statement as a means of taking further control over private property continue to run their own race and follow the Hoax UNIPCC Gillard Labor Climate Change UNIPCC Policy and implemented in NSW by the NSW Labor Government.
Note, this Government / Council Sea Rise farce is costing the Rate Payer plenty. Not to mention the higher Insurance costs and the drop in Land and property values by this stupidity imposed on ratepayers who own effected properties. What is your current position and are you satisfied with this Government.

They may be genuine but when finally elected to the top job seem to have NO coordinated thought out plan whatsoever they seem to think that just being Premier solves all the State's and the Electorate’s problems. Yes, Dale before the Election the Opposition (some are now Ministers) were falling over all NSW Farmers with promises to tackle Coal Seam Gas but as you found Post Election it was suddenly a NON-CORE Promise. With help I hope to keep the pressure of public opinion on O'Farrell and his Government. It is early days yet but a non career Politician gets elected as Queensland Premier and he is cleaning out baggage and making decisions the next day for the benefit of Queensland, is there any advantage in Professional Politicians? Goodluck with your Farmer's Rally. Regards Robert WN

Them you might inform her that NO one knew the extent of the former Labor government's debt and dishonesty, or the fact that every State instrumentality was run down.
Perhaps your friend would do well to read a little more carefully and effectively.

I know too well how that hurts, because I use to get very very upset every time, your friend and mine, Andrew Bolt, referred to Ted Baillieu as 'Socialist Ted' but then, no sooner, had Ted been elected into Government, He proved Bolt right. Socialist Ted emerged, he went right ahead and implemented the Brumby Gov. Smart Meters, which we do not want and which are also an integral part of the UN Agenda 21. The UN A21 being a Socialist Agenda!! Not to forget Brumby's Bill of Rights. Dam Bolt how dare he get it right time after time!!!!!
Just maybe Alan you need to start facing facts.

Well VS, as a Liberal Party member your friend sure does a great job of imitating an LP hater. No doubt just about everyone here, if they don't live in NSW themselves, has friends and / or family in our biggest state. We have both, including some who don't have a lot of time for the Libs. But none of them are pouring out that sort of tirade on a government in place for only a year, after inheriting a totally broken state economy, within a national economy being 'guided' (huh?) by idiots. I hope she leaves the party before it causes her (or she causes it) more trauma.

Permalink Reply by Jan Courtney on April 26, 2012 at 2:38pm Victorian Premier Ted Baillieu has given a begrudging go-ahead order to the multibillion-dollar roll-out of smart meters to state homes after an independent report into the scheme declared it too big to scrap.
The results of a review into the so-far costly smart-meter roll-out program were aired today by Victorian Energy and Resources Minister Michael O'Brien.
The audit revealed that "at this stage of the program's life, the maximum benefit is delivered by continuing the roll-out", and that "the former Labor Government underestimated the cost of the program by $415 million".
Baillieu pledged to continue the smart-meter roll-out, adding that instead of giving taxpayers the devices proposed by the previous Brumby-led government, a more advanced version of the existing scheme would be implemented.
The modified Baillieu smart-meter scheme would see the Victorian government:
-Subsidising in-home displays to help households control their energy bills, with some basic in-home displays available at low cost by mid 2012
- Progressively offering remote connections for Victorians moving house from 1 January 2012, saving customers around $15, or more than $100 after hours
- Extending the delay on the introduction of flexible pricing until at least 2013, to allow time for consumers to learn more about their options
- Ensuring Victorian consumers can choose to remain on flat rates even when flexible pricing is introduced
- Toughening the regulation of smart-meter cost recovery by distribution businesses through removing the automatic allowance for cost overruns of 10 to 20 per cent put in place under the former Labor government
- Providing greater oversight by government and giving consumer and welfare groups a much stronger voice in the smart-meter roll-out process through a new Ministerial Advisory Council.
Despite the improvements that Baillieu promised, the premier expressed his anger over the results of the report at a press conference in Sydney today.
"We are as frustrated about this as anybody. This was a scheme devised by our predecessors. It's been assessed at some length, and the advice that we now have is that we should now proceed with the roll-out, or the further replacement of meters, which is what's happening," he said.
Baillieu added that it is too hard to undo existing contracts made with energy companies with a view to deploying a second smart-meter scheme.
"[Energy providers] have a right to replace their meters. They're choosing to replace them with smart meters, and that was a contractual basis on terms of the previous government. We can't undo that contract. So we're seeking to improve what was left to us," Baillieu said.
O'Brien agreed in his statement today, saying that two concurrent smart-meter programs would only cause more headaches.
"Stopping the roll-out now and continuing with two metering systems in the future will cost Victorians much more on their electricity bills than completing the roll-out and moving to a single system," he said.
The Baillieu government expects to complete the smart-meter roll-out to all Victorian households and small- and medium-sized businesses by 2013. The government was unable to place an exact number on how many smart meters this would encompass, but, in January 2006, Tenants Union Victoria reported that there were over 1.67 million households in Victoria.
Victoria's smart-meter deployment started in 2009, and was planned to replace 2.5 million electricity meters around the state in total, with the Brumby Government promising 680,000 smart meters to consumers by 2013.

Viv, if perhaps you could get her to come clean on “What I know would curl your hair! even more." Could be a real scoop. I am realistic enough to know what a mess he has inherited but he knew that BEFORE taking office and now seems most reluctant to tackle any meaningful tasks. Sorry, believe it when I see it, he will move out of the luxury Hi Rise when the lease runs out. Big deal when the time arrives for the move it may only be another Non-Core promise, but it takes a bit of the heat away at the moment and gives the Press a Dutiful caring Barry story. Something he badly needs. Regards Robert WN

Hi Alan, As with Baillieu in Victoria, John Robertson Opposition Leader is using the same Labor stunt with O'Farrell here in NSW. Blaming him for all the mess Robertson and his Labor mates left in NSW. But the problem is compounded by Barry in not making early decisive decisions one is on the Coastal Sea Rise Labor Legislation it should have been removed in his first month in office. Most Coastal Councils Labor or Green or both cannot believe their luck they are still operating as if Labor still runs the State of NSW a year after Liberals were supposed have received a mandate for change. Any wonder people are getting fed up as is shown by Vivienne’s friend with the NSW Liberal Government. Regards Robert WN

Permalink Reply by vivienne skeen on April 26, 2012 at 4:42pm Hi Jeff, Jan and Alan
Bailllieu and SP can stick their smart meters you know where, but it wont be in many homes in Victoria. The numbers are rising. We believe Victoria is the test case to bring them in nationally.
Baillieu did not begrudgingly go ahead with the SM he went to 4 other groups to get the report HE WANTED. Never mind the Auditor Generals report that said " there is is NO benefit to the consumer, only the power companies.
Bailieu is telling Victorians that it is LAW that we have to have a SM, Really. Well Baillieu show us the legislation. Because so far his Government nor the Department of Primary Industry nor the Power Companies can!
When Socialist Ted talks about the money that has been spent, he need to be reminded that the money belongs to US the Tax Payer.
Did Socialist Ted, HAVE to keep Labors 'Bill of Rights' even though he was urged by his own colleagues not to?
Further, Smart Meters are an integral part of the UN Agenda 21, the same as Smart Cities. In my view anything that has the UN fingerprints on it should be avoided at all costs.
Alan sorry to disappoint you, but I have read reams of information about the smart meters and Socialist Ted and none of it impresses me one iota. You may think SM are a good thing, enjoy yours,
"[Energy providers] have a right to replace their meters. They're choosing to replace them with smart meters, and that was a contractual basis on terms of the previous government. We can't undo that contract. So we're seeking to improve what was left to us," Baillieu said.
Is that right, well Baillieu, show us the 'contract' Because we have asked and asked for it, and you never show it. WHY!!!
Baillieu is NOT doing any Victorian any favors,
One more thing, SM collect data, they transmit data, they will be able to detect if you are home and how many people are in the home, and what you are doing. How do I know the SM people boast about it, the SM will be able to talk to your computer!, maybe it will be able to take data from your computer, SM will be able to turn your washing machine on and off, how nice.
Why do I start thinking 1984 when I think of SM, why do I start thinking of the 'collective' when I think of SM. think about it people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One more thing

I know that Barry O'Farrell did inherit a lot of problems but there needs to be a plan that will identify the socialist agenda that the Labor infected this State with. There needs to be some policy put in place that will allow the undoing of many of these socialist green regulations. I think that Campbell Newman is trying to abolish a lot of the climate stuff isn't he.
Well NSW needs to do the same thing. There is a need to unwind the bureaucracy and the red tape that is destroying our way of life.
