Hi To Everyone in the Agmates Community, just like to share the other day I recieve a great email from Steve giving Malcolm Turnbull's mobile number, so I rang the number provided in the email, and when Malcolm answered, I said he should resign, so he hung up on me, 5 minutes later he rang me back, he wanted my name, I gave him my name and before I could say anything else, he hung up on me again. So I sent his number to everyone in my email list, asking everyone, as an employer, to let their employees, know what you think.
Yeah, maybe Malcolm won't resign because I rang him, and maybe Kevin Rudd is still going ahead with his agenda. but what if 22,000,000 made one phone call, what then!!!!!! Are you going to let the team down. I know I can hear people now saying 22,000,000 aren't going to ring, but what about 500,000 people who, either haven't sold their soul, or who haven't overdosed on flouride, all make just one phone call. Why don't your send the information to everyone you know. What da ya reckon, worth a go

Good ideas Debbie but I think he is a dead duck now. I had a look at Penny Wong in action at the senate sitting and holly hell she is out of her depth. They have no idea what they are trying to introduce -let alone what will happen were it to get thru.

On Four Corners ,Macfarlane was patronising Wong by saying how intelligent she was !@#$%^&*()
All I can say is we only just avoided the greatest disaster in History last Thus. Turnbull has written his own history.

Isn't it curious that he is awarded "International Banker of the year". We see the obsene share and salary and bonus packages our top CEO and bankers get .We hear about all the sweat and brainpower involved to get these jobs. Therefore I see a large contradiction if Turnbull really is at the top of the tree as his noble contribution to politics has been the "utegate" set up and now the destruction of the Liberal Party.

He got his start with Packer till he tired of him and has been a commissioned dealmaker ever since. Born with a silver spoon in his mouth and silly enough to spit it out.
Great comment Rob but lets not give up on the Libs yet. I really think if they get this leadership sorted in the next few days they will come out of it very strong as they know exactly where their voters stand and we will be right behind them. Labor is doing everything it can to get their message out there that the Libs are finished....lets no play into their games. we need to keep the message positive.....love that silver spoon comment
Wow, I must say...how cool is it that Australians can actually get through to Senators and MPs? Honestly, so many people feel like they have no say in their Government. We are a country of 22 million people. That is tiny. We CAN make a difference, and we certainly HAVE over the last week (has it really only been a week? Surely it's been about 7!)
Here's Hoping for Abbott to get up today. To Steve and all my fellow co-contributors, well done.Agmates is proving fruitfull for me and the future looks promising. I tend to live in the moment flat out and don't dwell on the past or daydream about the future too much (too many variables). We can only do our best or so much at any given time. It is great to see the new names bob up and then learn learn the wisdom behind the little photo in the corner. Some of my never ending stream of comments are probably a bit blunt and negative but I do love to heap praise where it is due too.

EG Turnbull has forced all conservatives to civil war based on their concience( or researching ability) and to purge him has been messy. As Jacki says- this will be worth it in the long run because what comes out will be without the deadwood bagage and the voters will remember who took the hard path now.

The " ETS" test should replace the existing "I.Q." test as it has the same implications.Future Leaders like Bernardi and Joyce will get their chance sooner because of all this.

Look out ALP and Mr 75% the polls and voters will have you next.
Check his bio, Bob. Whatever else Malcolm Turnbull may be, he is no silver spoon. The son of a single Dad who was a traveling salesman who worked to send him to Sydney Grammar, I think.
As a lawyer he beat the British Govt in the Spy Catcher case, he was only in his 30s.
He became a Merchant Banker setting up his own Bank and then joined GS.
You and I chose agriculture, Bob.
He is way out of his depth in politics at the moment, but, fair go, he didn't inherit his farm(s), like many I know, he bought them.
He doesn't need to work anymore and as far as I know he has made his money in a way that is entirely legal. Though I would argue that the fees that all lawyers charge are exorbitant.
Turnbull chose law, we chose agriculture.
I think, like others, he chose the wrong party. He probably shouldn't have chosen politics at all, but that's an ego thing for many with money. Look at Rudd.
For further reading, read 'Churchill. The Wilderness years.'
Onya bike Malcolm!
I doubt he will stay in politics now....
Point taken Roger, I t does sound a bit like sour grapes re his success and money but this is not so in my case. I can't believe how anyone can research this topic and sincerely fall on their sword over it-not if one is as smart as he would have us believe.

You make a good point about inherited properties, I agree but that isn't us..Borrowed market value in 1985 and bought out parents paying 19.5% interest at one stage to Comm Dev Bank. Managed to pay it all back and this morning don't owe one cent to anyone in this world.

I will retract the silver spoon comment- sorry Malcolm.
Hi Cate
I would love to see him run out the door....Can only imagine what might have happened if the ETS had been voted through.....Rudd would have shown all his commie colours and Agmates would have been on his hit list and most likely shut down....
Shutting down Agmates? Ever seen a cattle dog cornered? That would be a tough one for Kevvie... Aside from the public uproar about censorship, there are too many people in Agmates that would take action against him in too many ways for that to happen... I for one, would not tolerate that, and Agmates is just one of my forums... There are many others, such as Mikko with his column and readership.. We have far too much public profile to be shut right down now, and the world is watching this little band of warriors with interest and surprise... Kevvie might just have met his match! If you want to keep score, we are getting some runs on the board and while that makes us a target, it also gives us credibility and public profile...
Ray Jamieson
You are right Ray, the runs are beginning to flow.
Krudd will be well aware by now that any further under-arm deliveries will be lofted over long-on, any short balls swatted over square leg, and that any cunning political spin whatsoever could find him looking for the kookaburra in the car park.
