Just go down to the beach wade out and wade back in all wet, fall over in the sand, make sure you've got your credit card but throw away your passport and claim asylum.

If you decide to take up my tip about being found by the Commissioner of Social Inclusion on the beach all wet and groaning after wading ashore  in the early freezing hours and worried about the health and identity checks I've got a few Libyan pounds you could borrow because you will need a few of those to prove your identity. Pay me back some time over the next 10 years or so from your Centrelink Welcome to Australia payments.

You can make sure to get those after you are in warm comfort at Inverbrackie.  When Sarah Hanson-Young of the Greens or the Natasha visits, roll your eyes, repeat the on the beach scene in front of them with some gutteral sounds of an obscure dialect. Keep it up until you hear one say, "Oh! You poor Dear". Make it look real and remember they would not do that for just anyone.

If you have any money left from Centrelink after sending enough to your cousins to pay their own smugglers  then you will still have enough to buy a wife. or pay for a lawyer if you don't like the food.

In the meantime, would you take a hot pie floater to the old Australian guy covered in newspapers from the cold behind the garden shed in the West Tce Cemetery?  No? I thought not. But never mind, none of our politicians would do that either

Dr Caroline, you must have read it twice . Yet the old guy at the back of the gardeners shed is real. I was part of a Midnight Patrol several years ago and on this one occasion found 2 , one was a veteran keeping warm with a bottle of muscat. Sad. But thanks. The comment was meant to make an impact. We sat down and ate the pie floater if we didn't find anybody.

Giving the pie to the old soldier sheltered in the cemetery really got to me.

I did read it twice Bob and the second time the older man really stood out and impressed me very much. It is these people that need to be our first priority.

Kind regards

Morning Caroline, it is 2 deg C in Lameroo. The following "Our Invisible Army" is front page AdelaideNow this morning. I trust that the insurgents in Inverbrackie are, "tucked up nice and warm, sheltered from the gathering storm. As hail and sleet has chilled the feet, with little left that's worth to eat. Perhaps a kind one passing by, will spare a thought to wonder, Why?

Politicians, Caroline? Hell, I get mad.

Bob it was your piece on that older man living behind the shed in the cemetery as well as watching the show on ABC1 called The 100+ Club that inspired my newest Discussion Topic called "Is Agism/Ageism a Problem in Contemporary Australia? I will try the site you mentioned tonight as the first link did not work for me either. By the way in St Helens we have had overnight lows of 0 to -2C. A very cold winter this year.

Kind regards

Caroline

Bob I had no problem getting into the site and was so touched by the story that I wrote a comment even though i am a long way from Adelaide we are all Australian.

Kind regards

Caroline

I was amazed to find out that 105,000 Australians are homeless on any given night with the majority being in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. Seventy-five percent are these homeless people are male.

The dramatic rise in the number of homeless was a result of the mass de-institutionalisation of the mentally ill during the 1980's without the proposed back-up support recommended by the Richmond Report.

Many of the homeless are suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) resulting from either serving overseas in the War or from mental, physical, and sexual abuse as a child.

Kind regards

Caroline
