For Like minded people who like to see-
Recent events with the announcement and launch of MP Bob Katter's new political party has generated mixed views and feelings in the north.
Just recently an Indigenous senior community member living in Cairns asked my views and opinions on Mr Katter's new party, as he was not sure whether Mr Katter is or would be supportive of Indigenous issues. eg. hunting. In all honesty I was not too sure how Katter's party will go.
An example of new party's in QLD - the extreme changes we have witnessed with the creation of the Queensland Party who are yet to convince the North they are different from the LNP.
Issues raised by many Just Ground members from climate change to asset sales are real issues still awaiting a saviour. Is Mr Katter's new Australian Party the answer? - I don't know. Like anything new there will be a level of sceptism. How pragmatic it will be - time will tell.
The one thing I do know is that real issues affecting our communities are still not being addressed appropriately by our current government both state and federally eg. social justice, law and order, violence against women, businesses struggling and closing down because they are unable to pay rent etc etc etc.....
How will Katter's party address these issues and how pragmatic his policies will be is yet to be revealed

G,day Barb,
All good popularist stuff from Bob ,pressing all my buttons but why doesn't he practise what he preaches.
Him abstaining from voting Slipper down has given these crooks another 10 months and god knows how many more Billions wasted. All for self interest as an early election with his KAP in crisis was not what HE wanted. I am very disappointed with then all.....
Permalink Reply by Barbara lee on May 10, 2013 at 8:54am Howd'y Rob. Well maybe he needs to be reminded some of what he said once upon a time, be thrown in his face, just maybe that verse should be sent to his office along with, telling him how disappointed, and what his done goes against every hard working Australian by helping the Pr..ks buying time, wasting millions of our hard earned tax payer's money. Which in that verse he says.
"I am the Labor Party's Worst Nightmare. I am a White, Conservative, Tax-Paying, God fearing Australian. I am a hard working Australian and I work long hours to earn a living. His like a big giant wrecking ball swinging this way and then that, but sadly he swung the wrong way intentionally, Labor party’s nightmare no way more like a best friend.
AUSTRALIANS, stop giving away Your RIGHTS !. Well his help in giving away our rights, now in abstaining from voting sipper down, buying time and costing us millions of our hard earnd cash.
Pay YOUR Taxes ! For what slipper, and Craig Thomson can still retain paypackets and sit in the back benches, and be used as leverage in buying time. His showing his going against what his said, true colours and playing this game seen to be seen and saying what people want to hear,, but underneath sadly swinging in the opposite direction. Showing true colours up.
They both Should have been sack with no pay, none of this bull crap of standing down.
That’s tax payers money and we are in trouble,” Pay your taxes to help keep them in”. we are being played like fools thinking we'll accept a slap on the rist, seen to be doing something but really not.
Its not just their pay packets their collecting each week, its superannuation nice tidy little sum, from our tax payer’s money, which brings me back to he said each one to pay their taxes, to keep them in a luxurious life style that’s so not right. That’s a paramount to thieving from us. Being paid for unscrupulous behavior from tax payers money.
So maybe he needs to be reminded by letter writing how disgruntle Australians are feeling with him, although his the type that would just shred them.

Clive Palmer is the bigger joke, but Bob Katter is in trouble, too:
BOB Katter’s Australian Party is “imploding”, with senior figures deserting their posts, membership plummeting and a regional delegate turned-Clive Palmer ally accusing his former colleagues of constant infighting…
This comes on the back of the resignation of national director Aidan McLindon and party vice-president and chair of finance Kevin Brown.

Former first-class cricketer Carl Rackemann has resigned as Shadow Agriculture spokesman, Lyn Bishop as Health spokeswoman, Keith Douglas as Shadow Tourism Minister and Michael Bates as Shadow Attorney-General…
Industrial Relations spokeswoman and union liaison officer Belinda Johnson said she would be making a decision whether to step down once she had spoken with Mr Katter and his son.
“Why are the key players leaving the party and what is the future?” she plans to ask them.

Permalink Reply by Dr Caroline Wright on May 17, 2013 at 4:45pm Bob Katter seems to be in touch with the (wo)man on the land and appears to know about the issues faced by both Australians and Aboriginals. Sometimes I think he is a little bizarre at times but I hope that he maintains his seat so that some of the issues he is interested in get a hearing in Parliament. His is a champion of the country people and the issues facing them.

Katter is a D Head!!! You can't trust the morally corrupt 4 stooges,
Katter true to form again, It was his deciding vote that killed the BCC
( Building Construction Commission ) the only truly independent body watching over Big employer & Union DEALS ;-( Now we have only the Unfair work farce.
Permalink Reply by Roger Rankin Crook on May 17, 2013 at 7:24pm I listened to him at the 1000 farmer and family meeting in WA. Was not impressed. I suspect many of the audience were not either.
We cannot turn the clock back as Bob seems to be advocating.
Our future lies in coming to terms with the absolute truth that Australia is not a good place in which to invest at present, except, and it's a big except, in agriculture. Someone, somewhere, in another country, sees something attractive in Australian agriculture, which our domestic investors do not see.
The difference, in my view, is that they think long term, strategically. We think short term, tactically.
G'day Roger,
I think it is the ability to vertically integrate- with either state or home bank finance- no taxes paid etc . All this gives a huge advantage over a local company.
eg Swift profit up 26% gives them leverage to invest more to eliminate more competition and so it goes till there is nothing left Australian -in Aust!

Had a ball thanks to Cate, got the bug again to hit the trail counting down the weeks, but going straight over to the west, but there is a happening in Alice so I've heard, maybe we might reverse our trip and go straight up the middle and join in the whatever is happening there. Am intrigued and love a bit of intrigue.
Winter is starting in Melbourne, its cold and we have been lucky to have had rain, but have enjoyed an end of an iandian summer.
The Mad Hatter, you just never know which way he swings, Maybe this is why there is trouble in the camp.
