Alan Mikkos discussion is now getting flodded with gags. That's great and I dont want to undermine his fantastic page that lets us all get some comic relief from the everyday bad news of dealing with everything from Krudd to the floods in QLD.

Firstly, I would like Alans permission to set up this piece as opposed to his baby.

If its OK with Alan, then lets have some (more) fun. If Al thinks I'm imposing on his turf, I'm OK with that too. What do you think Alan and mate I wont be offended if you would like all gags to continue to be put upon your discussion. I will be very happy to do so myself.

Cheers,

Bren.

Bren, Absolutely great idea, Go for it. Who knows, I might kick off a new serious detour in the Eclectic Escape? :-)
Cheers alan m
Thank you Alan. If anybody can "kick off a new serious detour " I know you are the man to do it.
Good one Bren - keep up the good work

Jack decided to go skiing with his best mate

After driving for a few hours, they got caught in a terrible blizzard. So they pulled into a nearby farm and asked the attractive lady who answered the door if they could spend the night.

'I realize it's terrible weather out there and I have this huge house all to myself, but I'm recently widowed,' she explained. 'I'm afraid the neighbors will talk if I let you stay in my house.'

'Don't worry,' Jack said. 'We'll be happy to sleep in the barn. And if the weather breaks, we'll be gone at first light.' The lady agreed, and the two men found their way to the barn and settled in for the night.

Come morning, the weather had cleared, and they got on their way. They enjoyed a great weekend of skiing.

But about nine months later, Jack got an unexpected letter from an attorney. It took him a few minutes to figure it out, but he finally determined that it was from the attorney of that attractive widow he had met on the ski weekend.

He dropped in on his friend Bob and asked, 'Bob, do you remember that good-looking widow from the farm we stayed at on our ski holiday up north about 9 months ago?'

'Yes, I do.' Said Bob.

'Did you, er, happen to get up in the middle of the night, go up to the house and pay her a visit?'

'Well, um, yes!,' Bob said, a little embarrassed about being found out,'I have to admit that I did.'

'And did you happen to give her my name instead of telling her your name?'

Bob's face turned beet red and he said, 'Yeah, look, I'm sorry, buddy. I'm afraid I did.' 'Why do you ask?'

'She just died and left me everything.'

(And you thought the ending would be different, didn't you?... you know you smiled...now keep that smile for the rest of the day!)

good one Laurel. Lets keep it going.
Thanks Greg. Idid think something else was coming. Good stuff. This could get serious.
Here is my contribution for tonight:

After the annual office Christmas party blow-out, John woke up with a pounding headache, cotton-mouthed, and utterly unable to recall the events of the preceding evening.

After a trip to the bathroom he was able to make his way downstairs, where his wife put some coffee in front of him.

"Louise," he moaned, "tell me what went on last night. Was it as bad as I think?"

"Even worse," she assured him in her most scornful one. "You made a complete ass of yourself, succeeded in antagonizing the entire board of directors, and insulted the chairman of the company to his face."

"He's an arrogant, self-important p***k, P**s on him!"

"You did. All over his suit, " Louise informed him. "And he fired you."

"Well, screw him," said John.

"I did. You're back at work on Monday."
Hi Brendan

Don't mean to be a wet blanket but as the starter of this thread you probably need to remember to take another look at the members code of conduct Specifically

"We are a family show, where we members show respect for each other and each others opinions and respect for others right to have a different opinion. We encourage robust debate - but in ALL cases we play the ball not the man or woman. * We don't allow members to abuse each other, * We don't allow ........swearing ..... racism ..... sexism ..... bullying ..... harassment ..... defamatory or slanderous comments .......Pornographic photos, images , videos, or crude humour.

What starts with a trickle can quickly lead to some pretty base humour. I'd encourage you to keep an eye on the thread to ensure it doesn't go down that path - after all there are plenty of places on the net for that. But not here. There's a challenge for you - Can you come up with a thread of humour that is just funny without being crude or offensive? :)

Alright Laurel, I'll bite
What the heck is an octet stream, and what program do I need to view it?
Doc, I can't stop singing 'The Green, Green Grass....'
Sounds like you have Tom Jones Syndrome...Doc replies,
Is it Common?
Well, 'It's Not Unusual'..
I was down the Tallies pub the other day and there was a man standing at the bar.

I looked at him, and unlike Tom Jones, I thought that there was something unusual about him. He only had one ear – one lug hole – one shell-like. So I walked around to his good side and asked: “Would you like a beer?”

He replied; “No thanks, I've got one ‘ere!”
