IS AUSTRALIA ADEQUATELY PROTECTED FROM FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC INVASION ?

The Chinese today have shown their military might for all the world to see. Australia has seen a reduction in Defense spending since the USA began placing troops in the top-end. The USA has made it known that they are displeased with Australia's reduction on Defense spending as they need our assistance in patrolling the seas north of us.

Furthermore, the Australian Navy and Air Force is heavily involved in the role prescribed by the Government with regard to illegal entry of refugees by boats from Indonesia which is further depleting our ability to police the waters surrounding Australia.

So I ask the question "Are we Protected"?

We will need to wait to see the outcome of these talks (that is if all representatives attend).

Friends of Syria to press for peace talks

BACKERS of the Syrian uprising are set to meet in Amman to discuss a US-Russian proposal for peace talks, as the brutal two-year conflict escalates close to the border with Lebanon.

Eleven top diplomats from Britain, Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and the United States are attending the meeting on Wednesday of the so-called Friends of Syria group.....

Jordan's Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh told reporters that the US-Russian deal was a "turning point" in the conflict, while Syria's ambassador to Jordan, Bahjat Suleiman, was to also hold a rare press conference about 1900 AEST.

Earlier this month, the United States and Russia, which back opposite sides in the Syrian conflict, proposed a peace conference dubbed Geneva 2 to bring together rebels and representatives of President Bashar al-Assad's regime....

Afghan interpreters to get British visas

ABOUT 600 Afghan interpreters who served with British forces fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan will be offered the chance to live in Britain after a government U-turn, it has been revealed.

Prime Minister David Cameron had initially sought to discourage the interpreters from settling in Britain for fear of the message it would send out about the stability of Afghanistan.

Many of the Afghans say they have been threatened by the Taliban because of their work with British forces, who are due to withdraw at the end of 2014 along with other NATO-led foreign troops...

Of course just how many of these "Interpreters" were guilty of Insider Blue on Blue incidents.Very carefull vetting is required and Sanctuary should be granted in direct inverse proportion to the level of Religious Piety they expose.

The more Islamic they are then the less they should be considered.
