International Green groups want to Control Everything You Buy.

Not content to take out dollars and exert undue influence on our legislature through the Greens, WWF, Greenpeace and other international green groups plan to make money from the very people that they have spent the last two decades demonising.

The extreme left reckless radicals have used the debate on the tax on carbon dioxide to get away with horrific new plans to try to capture all of Australia's retail supply stream. If it were not work the great work of Tim Wilson from the Institute of Public Affairs in authoring this paper on far-left intimidation, harassment, and blackmail -  “Naked extortion? Environmental NGOs imposing [in]voluntary regula... , even I would have missed it. Now that I know what they are up to, I am horrified: if we don't stop them now, they will take over our entire economy! Their thugs are already bullying and intimidating businesses in NSW, and this is just the tip of the iceberg!

This quote is from a Menzies House email which has Just Grounder John Mikkelsen as a sometime contributor.

The link takes you to a paper which for primary producers is terrifying.

As an example, think of the campaign by GetUp against Harvey Norman for using Australian Forest Timber in its furniture. It fits right in with the scenario and there are other examples. It has precious little to do with the environment and a lot to do with power and fundraising.

Already there is a programme administered by WWF being trialled by the sugar industry.

Cattle Council of Australia and MLA want the Australian Beef Industry to adopt a programme proposed by WWF which to start with at least would be “voluntary”.

I think the Reef management plans with their Environmental Risk Management Plans (legislated) must have been the pilot back in the late ‘90’s and early 2000’s.

Dr. Jennifer Marohasy’s paper “When WWF says Jump Governments ask How High?” examines the process and lack of scientific evidence around claims made by WWF that the Reef was in bad shape. http://www.ipa.org.au/publications/547/wwf-says-'jump!'-governments...

It led to the unfounded blaming of farmers, WWF raised significant funds both here and in the US and legislation was introduced by the Queensland Government at the urging of the Greens.

What can we do about these groups? Email our organisations and politicians? The task is mammoth.

Joanne, well done for putting this information here for all to see and read. The tables alone, which are very easy to read, should strike fear - YES - fear into each person as the consequences are now being felt by all people - green supporters as well, who really, have no idea what they are being deceived into advocating for.

The link truly is horrific to say the least, based on facts! However, there are many people, who no matter how many times one shows the proof of how insidious these "green environmentalist / conservation" groups are, will refuse to acknowledge or believe your evidence, and that of other good people.

This evil does not know any boundaries.

You ask the question,

" What can we do about these groups? Email our organisations and politicians? The task is mammoth."

I am of the opinion, that many of our elected MP's who ARE trying to make a difference, are aware of this treachery, however, they are now outnumbered by those who support this skulduggery.

When such actions as what we are witnessing in your above post, become too much for people to cope with, this promotes anarchy -

We have witnessed Civil disobedience, and civil war in many countries across the world.

The question now is, when will we now witness the same horrendous and frightening consequences in our own country?

The "she'll be right mate" attitude that Australians are known for, can now be taken for complacency and laziness - Australians are responsible for the situation it now finds itself in - particularly those  who were able to stand together and "fight (non violently)" this as one united organization / group of good people.

I will be totally shocked if there is much support from this community, without continuing support from the main posters on this site, encouraging people to STAND THEIR GROUND.

People, have lost their way, ripping each other to pieces through frustration - all part of the NGO's "plans" as outlined above.

Imho, "they" have already won. Australians get what they deserve, for those who have tried and tried, they can hold their heads high, and look at disgust with those who were too afraid and hid behind others when help was needed.

Cheers Cate :(

There are pages and pages of quotable quotes in ths paper which reveals the true agenda driving groups like WWF.

For business, there is a cost for developing a relationship with ENGOs like WWF. If they adopt

WWF’s standards they are essentially locked in and cannot leave without criticism. Meanwhile

certification standards can increase over time adding further costs that businesses have to absorb.

The campaign against Harvey Norman by GetUp was a bit wierd, off the track and unjustified, now you know the reason behind it.

When our best funded rural organisation is prepared to accept a program designed by the very organisation that has been demonising farmers for two decades and not stand their ground what hope do we have? Most producers are not even aware that they are part of a planned strategy by an international organisation.

Harvey Norman - they are certainly one of many, check out this little gem by those reputable organizations WWF and GetUp - ah yes, the farmers friends...:(

"The radical leftists at Greenpeace and GetUp! have just launched a new campaign to kill jobs in New South Wales, and I urgently need you to help stop them.

Solaris, one of the region’s leading paper manufacturers, has just built a brand new, state of the art, $20 mill in Western Sydney, reinvigorating the local economy, creating new jobs, and ensuring economic growth for New South Wales.

Yet last month, the multi-million dollar radical extremists on the left started a campaign to harass, blackmail, and intimidate retailers into not using Solaris’ products because they refused to pay the WWF extortion fee and didn’t sign up to their “Transforming Markets Program”.

Many retailers have already buckled under pressure, and as a result, jobs are being lost in NSW, and other companies are becoming too scared to invest.

I need your help to make sure that the extreme left don’t get away with this blackmail!

The far left claim that the paper is stocked from illegal logging – a point that is patently untrue, as the timber is certified by independent auditors. They have already been caught out for lying in New Zealand, but are hoping to get away with it in Australia. We can’t let this happen.

Whether it be so-called “climate change”, or attacks on paper mills, the far left will stop at nothing to destroy jobs in Australia and take us back to the dark ages. They have already gotten away with campaigns forcing people to boycott Harvey Norman and Officeworks – we can’t let them win this one: jobs and an entire industry are at stake here!

If it was anyone else engaged in such blackmail, they would be in breach of the Trade Practices Act, except Labor put in a special exemption for “environmental” groups so they can harass, bully and intimidate with no legal consequences. So it’s up to us to stop them.

If we don't stand up now, the precedent this will set will destroy the NSW economy.

Please, I beg you, take the time to write to NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell and express your disgust at these tactics, and state your support for job creators in New South Wales. I know how busy you are, but our economy really does depend on it.

Writing letters has a lot more impact than emails (although you can email him at office@premier.nsw.gov.au ) so you can write to him at:

Mr Barry O'Farrell, MP
GPO Box 5341
SYDNEY NSW 2001

If you can also contact talkback radio, write a letter to the editor, or do anything else you can to get this disgraceful behavior by the left into the media it will also help. Also, please send me a copy of anything you send so I can track responses.

Anything you can do to help stop this extremist anti-growth agenda from the far-left will make a difference.

Make no mistake: this is nothing more than the latest incarnation of the left’s anti-job, anti-growth mantra that will hurt of all us.

It will deny consumers the right to select what products they choose to buy, it will restrict supply for low-priced products and drive prices up (meaning we’ll all have to pay more!) and it will limit investment in NSW – at a time when our economy is already very fragile!

To make matters worse, Greenpeace is (laughably) still registered as a “charity” and not as a political advocacy group, meaning they get all these tax concessions that they use to hurt us: the good people at the IPA just put out a paper on this that I woul....

In short, the left’s campaign of harassment, intimidation and blackmail will kill jobs in Western Sydney, will damage our economy, and will leave us all worse off. We NEED to take a stand, and we NEED to do it now.

Please, take the time to write to Premier O'Farrell and make sure they don't get away with it.

Yours sincerely,

PS: Please take the time to contact Premier O'Farrell and the NSW media and tell them that NSW voters say NO to far left blackmail and intimidation!!!"

Now, will anyone else have an opinion on this act of intimidation, threats and bullying by "the farmers friends" WWF and GetUp?  A: I doubt it !

Hi cate,

I immediately sent the link (WWF says jump, Govt asks how high) to Ian Macfarlane (Shadow Minister Resources & Energy). This is a horrendous beatup without scientific verification by WWF.

Cheers,

Ian

Thanks Ian,

But imho, all of WWF credibility has vacated the premises years ago - most of their findings are doctored and tailor made to suit their agenda, with GetUp as well - until people stop sticking their heads in the sand, and gushing over them for support, only then will their bully boy stand over tactics as shown be stopped.

Ian Macfarlane, if you are reading this link, for goodness sake mate, go hard - don't pull any punches on this issue - leave no stone unturned and unite the party on this - Australians do need someone to stand firm on this HUGE issue.

Please do not negotiate with the Greens on this issue, or any of these NGO's - Australians in rural communities, cannot take anymore - let alone the example above on this link of the Solaris, one of the region’s leading paper manufacturers, has just built a brand new, state of the art, $20 mill in Western Sydney, reinvigorating the local economy, creating new jobs, and ensuring economic growth for New South Wales.

Many retailers have already buckled under pressure, and as a result, jobs are being lost in NSW, and other companies are becoming too scared to invest.

This is just not on mate, help us all, STAND YOUR GROUND AND LEAD THE PEOPLE OUT OF THIS DEBACLE, PLEASE.

 Cheers Cate

Greystanes in W Sydney where the Solaris plant is located has the third highest unemployment rate in the country but the plant is lying idle as a result of the actions of these green bullies.

Under the Trade Practices Act it is illegaly for the rest of us to urge a community boycot-not so for the green groups.

They should be subject to the same law as everyone else.

Something you can try, to see how much involvement is in our favourite subject at the moment,

Dredging in Gladstone Harbour. This is just an example, there are many others.

Just Google -

Gladstone dredging, WWF

and

Gladstone dredging, Greenpeace

and

Gladstone dredging, UNESCO

finally for the moment:

Gladstone dredging, Get Up

then if you haven't already done so, get and read Donna Laframboise's book " The Delinquent Teenager who was mistaken for the world's top climate scientist" to see how ENGO' are rally stu$$ing up the works at an International level via the UN, IPCC, UNFCCC, UNESCO, UNEP.

Available from Amazon as an E-book or as a pdf  @ $4-99 USD

Our government is in bed with, and influenced by these ENGO's (WWF says jump, Govt asks how high)

Moving the government would be a start.

Cut their tax exempt status, which our sensible neighbour (NZ) did with Greenpeace.

Hi Joanne,

I meant to say thanks for that info. I have down loaded and printed both documents, so I can peruse at leisure(?).

Possibly an embargo on suppliers and businesses such as listed on p9 of "Naked Extortion", with letters, emails directed at management, explaining your reasons.

If WWF, Greenpeace can do it, why not ?

JeffT

No problems Jeff

WWF has a paper called Certification and Roundtables: Do They Work referenced in the Naked Extortion document.

Cattle Council and MLA put out harmless sounding documents that fit with their “Strategic Plan”. Why would they think that the industry would be willing to accept a program designed by their harshest critics.

The answer is fear.

 MLA document

“The AusGraze concept has widespread support amongst key industry members and external stakeholders. The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) has tagged beef production as a global priority for sustainable agriculture. Locally, they are supportive of the need to define sustainability in an Australian context, and to see evidence that production accords with the definition. Retailers such as McDonalds, have also expressed interest in the AusGraze concept and may consider co-investment. Industry bodies (Cattle Council) have also been briefed and are supportive of a program to meet the needs of key supply chain members and stakeholders, as per the Meat Industry Strategic Plan. The Australian Government is also supportive and has encouraged all industries to develop programs to promote and monitor the adoption of environmentally sustainable management practices.

Strategic Imperative

AusGraze will deliver against the key imperatives from the Meat Industry Strategic Plan, detailed above. It will provide an integrated approach that will be efficient and effective from an industry and producer perspective and enable the red-meat industry to contribute to initiatives such as the Beef Regional Roundtable and to retain market demand for red meat. Without something like AusGraze the industry and supply chains will remain exposed to environmental lobbying.”

The fact of the matter is that in spite of their ambitious plans WWF certify 5% of forestry products, 5% of palm oil, 12% of fish caught and not much else in a long wish list.

So far no beef although they say there are pilots in the US and Brasil. They forgot to mention Australia which is falling into line nicely.

It all gets nicely tied into ISO26000 which has SR built in. There are lots of add on pieces & it's been over 12 months since I have looked in on it. Some of the Global Greens were getting fairly excited in NY at a meeting back in 2010. They talked about it morphing from voluntary to legislated by a Global/International Court not National Gov controlled. RIO 2012 was to be the focus point for sherpas to heard bureaucrats for adoption IMO.

Hi Ian,

You can see it all now, falling over themselves at Rio + 20.

Wonder if they'll have Maurice Strong and Al Gore amongst the sillebraties ?
