For Like minded people who like to see-
Jennifer Rankine the Labor Minister, is the Housing Minister for SA.She is the final approval to allocate any one of the 600 empty houses in SA. They are still empty after many years. Some applicants have been waiting more than 12 years and others have died waiting and the official stamp of several files is "Found Other Accommodation"
Indeed, in a coffin waiting for the Minister's approval
It is 2 deg C overnight these past weeks and too many are sleeping rough in "Sherwood Forest" among a cluster of trees in the South Parklands in Adelaide. They are a separate group to the few doing it rough sheltered(?) near the gardeners shed in the West Tce Cemetery.
At one time Jennifer Rankine's FamiliesSA ministry was described in the State Parliament as, " a dysfunctional rotten culture of power" following the death of a little 9 yr old boy from the neglect of drug addict parents while under their watch.
For some reason I am unable to highlight and copy the Sherwood Forest story which appears in AdelaideNow this morning. But here is the link.

A Monsignor Cappo was appointed by the Rann Clique as "Commissioner for Social Inclusion" and sent on a public funded tour of Northern Europe and Scandinavia to "study" what Governments there are going for "the poor and disadvantaged". His report was never published to my knowledge. Yet my invitation to come to Lameroo was ignored. I suppose it was because I suggested he came on foot with his staff, a blanket over his frame and wearing thongs. There were plenty of farm sheds for shelter.
Sarah Hanson Young the Greens Senator for SA is not likely to vist the forest with a camera or to be in tears at the plight or heard, "Oh! You poor Dears"

Permalink Reply by Dr Caroline Wright on July 8, 2012 at 11:40am It is interesting that the article cited that the homeless number is 99,000 compared to the 105,000 cited in my response to your other Discussion Topic Letters to an Asylum Seeker... I guess that is a result of how homelessness is defined and counted. It may indeed be more than that.... Who really knows?
Kind regards

...and kind regards to you too.

Permalink Reply by Dr Caroline Wright on July 8, 2012 at 7:37pm I think that the difference in the actual total of homeless persons depends on how it is defined for the purpose of the count as otherwise it would have actually fallen since the research was done at Deakin University.
