For Like minded people who like to see-
Social activists have used Social Media Sites to discredit the Shell Oil Company. ABC News24 announced this morning that these activists who were members of Greenpeace set up illegal Shell Sites claiming they were drilling for oil in the Arctic region. This was a highly organised operation with fake media reports of interviews with Shell employees working in the area.

The Examiner article is enough to make you grimace, but on the same page there is a link to show the repercussions of our Green friends actions.
Love ém or hate ém, they were employers and a source of income for Tasmania.
And the way the pressure was put on Gunns -
TAP (Tasmanians Against the Pulp mill)
ANZ bank has been promoting itself as the greenest bank.

I remembered there was an article on J.G. a while back on Tasmania's forests -
"Tasmania's Forests locked up"

Permalink Reply by Dr Caroline Wright on July 25, 2012 at 5:52pm Only because of the pressure put on them by the Greens Jeff. They picketed outside some of the larger ANZ Banks in Tassie. So Gunns were not able to finance their venture.
Kind regards
Caroline

Permalink Reply by Dr Caroline Wright on July 25, 2012 at 5:57pm Thanks for that link Jeff. You have a very good memory and do the copying and pasting very nicely. I have learned one method thanks to Alan and I will practice it for a while then I might attempt the fancier way of copying.
Kind regards

It is in the $billions.

Permalink Reply by Jeff Hutcho on July 29, 2012 at 3:03pm Hi Dr Caroline,
It comes together, doesn't it ?
Loss of finance, loss of jobs, loss of farming land to tree farming - Grrr.
-
We have been fortunate (???) to have had recently, Dr Bob Brown and Tricky Dicky Smith up here on the Mid north Coast at Bellingen.
- Up coming local government elections - OMG, with Green councilors.
Notice the number of candidates standing in each council area. The same situation is happening in the Port Macquarie local government area. It appears to be another attack at local level, planned by the Greens.
Bellingen NSW, an interesting place if your into recycled, weird hand made items and food you'd have to be game to eat. And if you attended one of their weekend markets, it pays not to breath in, as some sections have a definite odour of funny tobacco.

Jeff
Permalink Reply by Dr Caroline Wright on July 29, 2012 at 9:19pm Absolutely Jeff the Greens are sticking to the Greenpeace Agenda to the letter. Their plan is well thought out and attacks on all fronts.

Permalink Reply by Jeff Hutcho on July 30, 2012 at 12:00am Hi Dr Caroline,
I'm afraid that it's not just the Greens/Greenpeace connection.
From the Mid North Coast Greens website, but mirroring the Greens, is the report back from Sen Christine Milne and her UN COP17 visit to Durban.
Now we know why we've been lumbered with the Carbon Tax.
The so called Death Threats were a beat up, and were disproven. Basically lies. Andrew Bolt confirmed that it was lies, after interviewing one of the scientists on TV.

Permalink Reply by Dr Caroline Wright on July 31, 2012 at 7:39pm A debate was held today re how large the area of old growth forestry should be put aside for preservation. It was between the Labor and Liberal Parties. No member of the Green Party was invited.

Isn't that good to see the Greens weren't invited.
Maybe they'll get the message that they are irrelevant.

Permalink Reply by Dr Caroline Wright on July 31, 2012 at 9:17pm Unfortunately they (the greens) hold the balance of power in Parliament here in Tasmania by siding with the Labor Party in minority Government. He even holds the Education Portfolio. History making but not good for Tasmania.
