For Like minded people who like to see-
Social activists have used Social Media Sites to discredit the Shell Oil Company. ABC News24 announced this morning that these activists who were members of Greenpeace set up illegal Shell Sites claiming they were drilling for oil in the Arctic region. This was a highly organised operation with fake media reports of interviews with Shell employees working in the area.

Permalink Reply by Dr Caroline Wright on July 20, 2012 at 10:37am This elaborate Hoax began two months ago and the social activists created fake Shell advertisements and fake Shell responses to the advertisements. It was so well conceived and executed that many journalists believed what was said.
This is an outrageous scam and demonstrates how evil these Greenpeace activists are.
They have also been involved in discrediting the forestry industry in Tasmania through the social media and while on trips overseas. I pose the question as to who is organising and financing these overseas trips??

Permalink Reply by Dr Caroline Wright on July 20, 2012 at 10:45pm It is unfortunate that Greenpeace environmental groups are prepared to lie and intimidate to get their way on any issue they want.
But by using Shell's trademark logo in these fake advertisements and creating a fake Twitter account in Shell's name is illegal and a breach of copyright.
Greenpeace's whale killing protest boat will have a new crew member next year as Bob Brown is joining their activities. He would not be drawn on the extent of his involvement in their activities. Very interesting ...

No scruples with these people -
The actions of Greenpeace's Paul Watson and his anti-whaling campaign, with the MV Steve Irwin as their protest flagship is - piracy on the high seas, against international maritime law. But it draws big funding and donations.
If ex-Green Senator Brown is joining this activity, it would make him complicit.
-
You may have seen the Greenpeace advertisement about Climate Change, using images from the 9/11 disaster that killed 3000+ persons and released around the time of an anniversay of 9/11.
No scruples.
And how they are getting into many other fields, this one is seafood supply.
No scruples
Don't get me started, I'm supposed to have an anti-green bias - LOL

Jeff
Permalink Reply by Dr Caroline Wright on July 21, 2012 at 9:39am Where do these Greenpeace groups get all the money from?? The Anti-whaling boat its crew and their keep, travel of activists to other countries, their board and lodging for many months at a time. These activists have no income except from Greenpeace so there is a lot of money coming from somewhere.
Scary.

Here's a starter on Greenpeace -
http://activistcash.com/organization_overview.cfm/o/131-greenpeace
This the overview, which is the top link on the RHS page column.
Under Overview are 'Financials' and 'Connections', so you will get an idea where the funding comes from.
The have an IRS form 990 tax exemption status (charities) in the US, hence the availability of some figures, although they are a bit dated in the 'Financials' page.
Canada removed the charity tax status from Greenpeace, as it was shown that the exemption was not serving public good.(1989)
New Zealand removed the charity tax status from Greenpeace, as it was claimed it Greenpeace was taking a political stance. (2010)
Greenpeace call for financial support continually in advertisements and on websites, using 'save the whales' or 'save the rainforest' as their public image.
But big organisations such as Rockefeller Bros, Tides Foundation, Packard Foundation would be the basis of their funding.
Scary - right on the button.
Regards,
Jeff

I have posted this elsewhere on JG, but it's also worth posting here:-

Whatever you may feel about coal and it's distributors, this article shows the interference from green groups including and associated with Greenpeace.
See the funding from Australian sources.

Permalink Reply by Dr Caroline Wright on July 21, 2012 at 4:36pm Afternoon Jeff....Busy yesterday as I had found some old ironbark stumps which have been cut down for years were rotting in the middle. So I scooped out the cetres and set about burning one. Then I found another and started doing the same (probably very anti-green of me but the goodness does go back into the soil). So today my poor old back was in protest so no work outside for a few days. All this needs to be said because it gave me time to read the above article you referred me to. It was very interesting and shows some of the very real cracks in the Greenpeace Movement.
My husband and I were in New Zealand at my first research conference when the ship was blown up.
Well one down and one to go. I have appreciated your thoughtfulness in directing my reading for the day.
Kind regards
Caroline

Permalink Reply by Dr Caroline Wright on July 21, 2012 at 5:04pm Well Well.... So these little activists are employed full-time by Greenpeace!! So much money behind them. One thing struck me as strange was the number of religious organisations involved. What happened to the separation of church and State? Jesus said Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's and to God the things that are God's. When they speak out on these matters are they inspired by the Holy Ghost or are they afforded the same status as you and me.
Big bickies involved and tax free. Wow I want some of that.
Kind regards
Caroline

Permalink Reply by Dr Caroline Wright on July 21, 2012 at 7:44pm The little girl sitting in the tree has her lap top so that she can keep in touch with other Greenpeace people overseas. It is powered by a solar panel I believe. This would bring attention to her 'plight' and thus shore up support for the anti-logging of regrowth and new growth and conservation forest trees.
I hope that the farmer who wants to harvest the trees he has brown on his own land also has a lap top so that he can tell about his plight to people on the big island and overseas.

Permalink Reply by Dr Caroline Wright on July 23, 2012 at 2:51pm As today Is D-Day for peace talks between the Greens and Forestry I did a bit of web-surfing and was surprised by what I found.
Ta Ann Tasmania is a new value adding business established in 2007 that implements the Australian and Tasmanian Governments' objective for forests. A veneer is produced from eucalyptus regrowth forests that had previously been used for wood-chips (as their sale was so lucrative overseas). Two mills were set up one in the Huon and one in Smithton.
Greenpeace activists 1) worked overseas (particularly in Japan) spreading misinformation about the source timber being used, 2) invaded a ship in Hobart to disrupt loading of the veneer adding significantly to production costs, and 3) used the web for Cyber Attacks spreading misinformation and setting up Bogus Websites and Bogus claims.
This is a summary of what I have been reading to-day but if anyone is interested in pursuing this further simply Google Ta Ann Tasmania where there is a wealth of information.
Unfortunately for both you, the reader and for me, I still have to learn how to copy bits and pieces and use direct website headings (that is, the blue htpp bit that everyone else here can do with such apparent ease) to assist your research.
But I was absolutely amazed at the arrogance and treacherousness of these activists and just how devious they are.
How can the Federal and Tasmanian State Governments form a Parliament with the support of such people (I use that last term loosely).
A certainly Not Happy Jan Person Today

Permalink Reply by Dr Caroline Wright on July 23, 2012 at 5:59pm Ta Ann even trialed 12 to 20 cm diameter plantation timber in order to keep the company going after having to sack 40 workers to keep its Japan, China and Malaysia buyers of their veneer happy. But these Greenpeace activists were still not on side. This is a travesty.
Kind regards
