Paul Ehrlich in a chilling interview with the Guardian on Thursday (26/04/2012) has called for a massive reduction in the number of humans and for natural resources to be redistributed from the rich to the poor. The optimum population of Earth – enough to guarantee the minimal physical ingredients of a decent life to everyone – was 1.5 to 2 billion people rather than the 7 billion who are alive today or the 9 billion expected in 2050, "How many you support depends on lifestyles. We came up with 1.5 to 2 billion because you can have big active cities and wilderness. If you want a battery chicken
world where everyone has minimum space and food and everyone is kept just about alive you might be able to support in the long term about 4 or 5 billion people. But you already have 7 billion. So we have to humanely and as rapidly as possible move to population shrinkage." there's a 6.52min podcast with the article

Hi Russell,

Its ALL part of the plan. here we are 7billion + and they think it should be 1.2 or maybe 2 billion, I suggest they start with Paul Ehrlich Al Gore the Soros Foundation, Sierra Club, Club of Rome, Bilderberg Group, ICLEI,Council on Foreign Relations and of course the United Nations, etc etc, throw the Gillard Gov in as well.

That should just about do it.

Interesting subject.

These UN Agenda 21 junkies so committed to massively reducing the human population could easily demonstrate their commitment by jumping from the Sydney Harbour Bridge. But no, it's always other people that must be eliminated - not them.

This topic raises it's head on occasions, the latest issue being that the planet is becoming over populated, resources are limited, climate change due to too much energy being used.

But it is not a new phenomena -

One of the early 'fathers ' of global warming Swedish scientist Svante Arrhenius was part of the racial hygiene movement.(eugenics)

Anthropologist Margaret Mead was also a promoter of eugenics.

Sir Julian Huxley, was another promoter of racial hygiene movement.

"Even though it is quite true that any radical eugenic policy will be for many years politically and psychologically impossible, it will be important for UNESCO to see that the eugenic problem is examined with the greatest care, and that the public mind is informed of the issues at stake so that much that now is unthinkable may at least become thinkable." - Sir Julian Huxley, first director general of UNESCO (1946-1948)

-

French oceanographer Jacques Cousteau wished to reduce the world's population by 350,000 a day. He worked for UNESCO.

And in Australia:

http://theconversation.edu.au/eugenics-in-australia-the-secret-of-m...

This document on the history of eugenics in Australia (Melbourne) is interesting, as it starts out with the premise that eugenics is to reduce those that are mentally handicapped, by sterilisation, but progresses to others of "lesser" races as a possibility.

Media and hotel magnate Ted Turner has been promoting a one child policy for some years (he is father to 5 children), and he quotes China's one child policy, which is failing due to gender imbalance.

With the ability to determine the gender early in pregnancy, in China, many female children are aborted, resulting in a greater percentage of male births.

There is a current diplomatic incident brewing about a dissident who exposed China's forced abortions and sterilisation practices:

"One-fourth of humanity must be eliminated from the social body. We are in charge of God's selection process for planet Earth. He selects, we destroy. We are the riders of the pale horse, Death."

Fine with me, so when are the wealthy going to stump up enough? Equalise back too around 25K a year to balance out Sustainable Economics policy?

OK, but an in depth examination of the worlds population by country can be an informative exercise.

As there are countries which will not be able to maintain their population, and others which exceed population maintenance, usually as an indication of their life expectancy/standard of living.

An approximate reproduction rate of ~ 2.3 children per female can be used as a guide, but many populations far exceed that level. There are many other factors in this equation as well.

Australia's fertility rate is 1.77 children per female. So our population maintenance by birth is decreasing.

See Wikipedia's fertility rates over three different years.

Instead of focusing on slaughtering billions of humans, why don't the UN concentrate on ensuring an adequate food supply for everyone??? Farmers should be encourage to clear ground to increase carrying capacity, and locking up good farm-land under woody weeds should be illegal!!! Instead these UN population control freaks introduce anti-life measures like a fraudulent tax on carbon dioxide - vital for human, animal and plant life.

Al,

Looks like you've swallowed the UN's Nazi propaganda. Who do you think should be targeted for elimination then? Jews? Aboriginals? Or your family and mine?

anyone who thinks that the world's burgeoning population growth isn't dangerous and out of control must be living on Mars.

Hi Rory,

You beat me to it, on both posts.

The amount of money the UN and its organisation have received over the years they could have rebuilt the entire African continent 100 times over, but that is not part of their plan doenst quite fit in with, dare I say it......... Agenda 21

Then there's this nasty revelation from India.

More use of the excuse of Climate Change.

Al,

Believing the global overpopulation myth is the first step down the very slippery slope towards accepting the need for massive reduction in the human population and Nazi-style or Chinese-style eugenics.

Rory, I am highly averse to being verballed, which you have effectively done to me here by intentional editing. I am not a eugenicist but like Jeff, I do believe that the rate of population growth in some coutries, nothing to do with your Nazis and Jews references, is  huge problem. I haven't swallowed anything from the UN, I posted a reference to the Guardian's article, which carries a link to the Royal Society's article.

For the record, here is completely what I said:

"For those interested in this very important topic, it's worth a read. I am no Eugenicist that's for sure, but anyone who thinks that the world's burgeoning population growth isn't dangerous and out of control must be living on Mars".

Cheers bro' al

Here's a refreshing bit of uncomplicated common sense to counteract all the UN and "Royal Society" propaganda about overpopulation...
