Farm protest meeting – can we help?

Inverell farmer Lloyd Fleming has called a protest meeting at

OAKWOOD HALL, PIONEER VILLAGE, Inverell, NSW, this Monday night, January 11, 7pm,

to discuss further action following the Peter Spencer protest rally in Canberra. Pioneer Village is next to the Inverell showgrounds.

Lloyd is a veteran fighter for farmers and can be contacted on (02) 6722 5303. The local hotels are fairly cheap or local cabins. I have been speaking to Lloyd to see how we might be able to help down the track. He cited a couple of cases of local people just recently copping massive fines for non crimes such as clearing fire hazards. I think we need to network eg farmers, truckies, fishermen, forestry workers and others and really crank up this national protest against the destruction of our rights and economic future.

PS: Lloyd and Joan Fleming had 3500 acres taken off them by the Bob Carr Labor government. In 1991 they secured the land as a “prickly pear lease” then to converted it to a Crown lease then to freehold. Five years later they received letter from Minister Ian Causley saying that the government was appealing the transfer of the land which was now “no longer available” and would be gazetted as government property. Title deed had been written over: “Can’t be sold, transferred, or inherited.” Lloyd went to the Supreme Court to claim compo and after fighting the case for a month the judge awarded in their favour $2.2m. However Lloyd was never paid the money. After 5 years the NSW govt came up with some UK precedent that a council or government had a right to change its mind. The judge gave the Flemings four days to move all farming equip out of the property. His daughters mustered the 400 cattle off the property but then 4 men came onto the property and mustered off the 2000 sheep after Lloyd had paid up 12 months lease for sheep grazing. The shire ordered the 2000 sheep shot. Lloyd had to go to work at Stanthorpe as a fruit grader – had to find income and had debts. We need to get together all over the country and together march into the local politicans office.

Why indeed, because the journalist are paid by the corporation for their silence, we the people, need to stand by our farming folks, and demand justice, for Peter Spencer before it is too late, as well as all the other farmers who have lost at the hands of dishonest, corrupt, bastardized goverments. We the people need to form groups of people and collectively all go together and visit the local political member, and demand justice for the people of Australia. There are many hardships that many people are suffering at the hands of corporate governments, and while we the people, remain silent, they will continue to do what they do. We have the power, and the power is in our numbers, we need to unite and all go together to our local politicans office, and demand justice for the people of Australia, even if we all have to spend a week sitting on the floor of their offices, so at the end of the day they are unable to lockup and go home. If enough people did this they (the local member) would see that we the people are tied of being pushed around. They may even have to cross the floor when it comes to voting, they need to be more afraid of us, then of their masters.

Well said Jordana, but people have to realize that these types of news articles will never be on the 6 o'clock news, because vested interests will not allow that, and because it is not on the 6 o'clock news doesn't mean it is not true.
However the plight of the farmers, (who provide the food for the nation) interesting that they are the ones at the forefront of the attack, must have OUR full support and help when needed.

Fiona Nash and John Williams should be acting on these stories- that is what they and others are paid for.That is a disgraceful story which must surely be documented.

We need to put pressure on the media to cover these outrageous stories of how this corrupt, dishonest, bastardized system is treating the people. We the people need to DEMAND accountability from governments. If anyone knows anyone in the media that is able to bring this to the attention of the wider community that would be great.

Had something similar not happened to me, I would not have believed this story. It is absolutely astonishing. I am beginning to think we are going to have to fundamentally change our entire system of government in order to stop this kind of nonsense from happening in the future. Simply voting in new people doesn't solve the problem, because the parliament doesn't have the real power. We need to start thinking about organizing a constitutional convention to change the entire system of government. The new government will be based on individual rights and property rights.

There is room for mice to feed among the elephants - it just takes some care but we are heading fast toward a corporatocracy that must not be allowed beyond the next election. A wedge is needed to part the corrupt morality of the two party governance serving their own interests of tenure before that of the Nation. There is an election in SA on the 20th which is occupying my watch but after then when the drift is clearer, I will put up an idea for Independents Day.
