Council contractors move in and take their personal possessions

The couple and disability pensioner owner watch helplessly as council contractors put their personal possessions in a giant skip bin.

The new and used building materials painstakingly collected over many years to construct their dream home.And personal possessions like crates of crockery, their pot plants, and their art works. All relabelled as "illegal waste" and a threat of environmental pollution.

There is a stench, but its coming from the direction of our council, and can be followed all the way to no 6 Macquarie St in Sydney!

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that this bully-boy behaviour is part of a pattern affecting many others in the region. Councils in other parts of the country are also not immune from similar abuses.

Damien I was wondering if members would become more interested in this topic if you could give us some more details about the case you have cited above. In speaking for myself, it would help me to formulate a response to something which has important potential for discussion. I did note that it occurred in 2011.

Hi Tony, the owners have no money to hold council accountable. Which is why they tried to defend themselves (and lost). Monica (the owner) just stopped the contractor taking a heavy machine in by using the same environmental rules against council. But it is only delaying them taking some of her 'new' building materials (roofing) that is hard to get to.

The media are also too afraid to touch this (as you've seen), so Monica's only hope now is for good candidates to get in. The community here is trying hard for that, as we have more running here than anywhere in NSW.75 all up (Im running too)

I did get it on the ABC south east radio by using my 1 minute candidate speech. Which caused a bit of a stir. But then they just got the council manager on later, who mislead. (Hopefully we can use that later), The ABC wouldn't allow me to correct him, despite sending the ABC documented proof from the case. (the ABC have done that trick before), hopefully the fur will fly if we get enough good candidates in.

Damien best of luck in the forthcoming Elections we need more awareness of what is happening to this country.

Hopefully if the right people are sucessfull you could look into what many states in the US are now actively doing regarding the back door approach to Socialism and Control taken by the UN under the guise of Agenda 21,LEP's and various disguise attempts taking place through Local Government auspices.

One aspect I like in particular was the tripartisam approach in some states whereby Republicans,Democrats and Independants got together to address these issues and enshrined in Law the requirement to actually inform the public what is happening and to if necessary sack Local government who attempt to instigate such ordinances and repeal any Laws designed to enable such practices and then furthermore to make illegal any attempt to bring about such actions to the detriment of US Soverign rights under their constitution,Good information on what way to head if sucessful in the elections

In Florida, there is a group who appear to be getting results also in their fight against Agenda 21.

On the local front -- I have asked several people in various council districts PLUS sitting State and Federal Politicians -; Why are they adopting UN Agenda 21 principals for Domestic arenas.

The answer was -; All but two would NOT answer the question

The two that did said -; We have no connection to or any relationship with UN Agenda 21.

Strange about that answer = The Operational Manefest was "almost" word for word the same as UN Agenda 21 plus The Millenium Declaration.

"More Corruption" ???

I'm feeling for these folk very much. Would like to know more details though, the heading isn't giving me enough info. How did it all get started to become such a horrible mess. Did they pay their Rates? for instance, or is this one of the stories they just coming in and just take without paying. There has to be much more to this story Damien. To have something like this happen at this time in life, is just shocking and having to stand there watch, don't know how anyone could come to grips with that.

Stunned candidates and polling booth witnesses saw plenty of unwelcome excitement during the council election.

After putting up story boards showing council breaking in to a disability pensioners property (with huge bolt cutters) to take their possessions, and other photos of councils own “unlawful waste facility” (which I had forced council to admit to earlier)

The council officials in my photos showed up to harass me during pre-polling at the Moruya Booth. In my face and angrily insisting that I should take them down, and repeatedly threatening "possible" legal action.

However, as they could not point out anything incorrect or defamatory I refused. Further enraged, they then tried to get the electoral office to make me remove them, but the returning officer just agreed that council had to show why first.

That next morning, the number one candidate on our ticket called me in distress after someone had found her remote property, and cut down the no trespass sign off her gate, throwing it in a nearby creek. So I immediately took the posters down (at her request) The same day, the general manager also emailed me a letter threatening "possible"legal action unless I removed the electoral material, yet also failed to point out any errors or defamatory statements.

On top of this, after earlier using my one minute candidate speech on ABC radio to sneakily reveal the story. The General manager quickly made his own statement on ABC to hose it down.

However, the statement he made seems to deny the whole basis of councils case against the couple, and councils own testimony in court! The ABC so far will not follow up on this story, and the newspapers still wont mention it.

Our group did not get in, but 4 good people from another group did, and another lady who may be good also. So we still have a chance to get this story out, and make the people who are responsible, accountable.I have put up a petition on Change.org ,if you want to help spread this story?

I lost a house once through business, had to put on paper everything we owned. That was so awful to go through. We didn't go bankrupt at the last minuet every agreed to be allowed to pay back, then we spent the next 7 years doing just that, and we did. Then we had to start all over again, that was the hardest thing to do. We were young at the time. These folk are elderly and haveing to watch there most valuable possessions being tossed into a dumper, how crushing is that. Some folk just haven't the money to paint or so debilitated they just can't mange it, and need assistance, not kick out, and if one is a carer, that takes a hell of a lot of special time to look after a person not alone spruce the place up.

And if you look at it on the other side of the coin. If now they had to go in to a hostel or home or a commission housing, if they were lucky enough of course, boat people seem to come first these days, It would cost this goverment heaps more, so it would be in their best interest to help these folk not kick out, If it was about rates as well, should be much needed understanding on behalf of the council, and at the end of the day, could wait until the end and then reclaim money owing, even if it takes so many years along. But these people are in a hole and need help, not kick out.

Now let me see, Is it a Labor belt by chance.

Damien I didn't want to responded first up, I couldn't see enough information, untill you had posted the last one. but after reading your email address at the bottom made a really big difference, made sense of what you were jump and down for.

So sorry these folk have gone through such an awful ordeal

Thanks Barbara, They don't owe any rates or anything like that. Its worse than I have time to explain here, but it looks to me like a simple case of intimidation for resisting an earlier injustice by council. This is not their current home, it is a 7 acre block where they intended to build on. The first injustice was at their suburban home, and this looks like the payback for resisting a similar council injustice there. Yes they are very upset, but it looks like council may have also broken some laws to get them, from what I have read. So council are now vulnerable. There are some good locals who are just as determined as I am to hold them accountable for this outrage. Lets hope we can!
